Elgin narrowed his eyes slightly and stepped inside.

The old guys eyes bulged, disbelief etched on his face.

“How dare you swagger around with the Ramirez name like you own the place? You’re digging your grave!” With that, Elgin kicked hard, sending the old guy flying into the wall before he crumpled down, coughing up blood.

He elegantly retracted his foot and asked slowly, “Your name’s Shela Ward?”

“Yes, that’s right.” Shela was overwhelmed by his powerful presence, asking with awe and adoration, Mr. Ramirez, were you looking for me?”

Elgin nodded slightly. “Yeah I’ve been looking for you since that night.”

Shela looked confused for a moment. How come a man of his wealth and power was looking for her?

She had only seen Mr. Ramirez in the news and newspapers, never in person!

Noting Shela’s puzzled expression, Elgin asked, “Don’t remember?”

Shela tugged at his sleeve. “Dad, what…”

Mark was no fool. He had pieced together the gist of the situation! Moreover, he hadn’t sent his daughter Shela that night. It was Letitia!

“Mr. Ramirez you’re my knight in shining armor!” Shela clung to his arm. “With you around, Dad and I won’t have to fear that old man anymore!”

Elgin put his thoughts aside and grunted in agreement

Now that he had found her, he’d keep his promise.

He would marry Shela, and it would just take some time.

As soon as Elgin left, Mark clasped Shela’s hand excitedly. “Our big break is here!

“Dad, you better tell me everything, or I’ll blow it in front of Mr. Ramirez!”

Mark whispered all he knew into Shela’s ear, taking care to instruct her thoroughly.

“Got it!” Shela grinned With this information, I’m set! Dad, I’m off to chase Mr. Ramirez!”

She ran after Elgin and was over the moon.

Sitting in a car worth millions, Shela couldn’t help pulling out her phone for selfies, making sure to have the car’s emblem in each shot.

Elgin took her to a riverfront property. It was a flat of three hundred square meters, right in the bustling heart of AquaCity.

You’ll stay here for now. A maid will come by tomorrow,” Elgin handed her the keys. “Ask for anything you need.”

Shela took the keys, too giddy to think straight. “Mr. Ramirez, we are fated to be together! I’ll take real good care of you!” She lunged for a hug, but Elgin pushed her away. He had a thing about cleanliness and wasn’t into physical contact.

“Mr. Ramirez…”

“It’s getting late. You should rest”

But i want to sleep with you.” Shela’s eyes were sultry, her clothes sliding off her shoulders in an attempt to seduce him. “Let’s relive that night properly…”

Meri usually fell for the bed thing. Since she wasn’t the woman from that night, she must sleep with Elgin as soon as possible to settle her nerves.

Elgin turrowed his brows. If the time and place hadn’t matched up, he would’ve doubted Shela was the girl he had been looking for

He left without a second glance.

When he returned to the Ivory Towers, Letitia was already asleep

She still slept at the bedroom door From a distance, all Elgin could see was her soft, flowing hair.

Elgin walked over looking down at her from his lofty perch

Letitia was out like a light, lazily rolling over. Her pajama top gaped open a bit, revealing the creamy skin of her chest. And then there was that tantalizing glimpse of something more.

He felt a lump in his throat Why on earth did he have the hots for Letitia so easily? And Shela, the one he was supposed to be after, didn’t stir a thing in him?
