Elgin just barged right past her with quite the shove. Letitia stumbled back a couple of steps and ended
up falling down.
The door slammed shut with a bang, and Elgin was gone.
His way of loving her, was straight-up diabolical! Letitiaâs heart kept sinking, her palm clutching tight
It was late Elgin walked in the night, an air of brooding menace about him.
Yep. Letitia had hit the nail on the head again
He didnât know how to love, and he had never truly loved anyone
He thought he loved Shela, but now he realized that he had no feelings for Shela whatsoever
His feelings for Letitia, though, they snuck up on him, growing bit by bit over time
Elgin had tried to ease up, to smooth things over with her, but no dice.
He was trying to learn, trying to back off, but Letitia wasnât having any of it
So⦠hed kick things off his way A devilâs romance!
Elgin adjusted his tie and a cruel, bloodthirsty smirk played on his lips.
When he was ready to really start things with Letitia, heâd stop at nothing to make her depend on him
and him alone!
The next day, the sun crept up slowly.
Elgin walked into the dining room and ordered, Go, bring Letitia here.â
âYes, Mr. Pamirez
Letitia was still reeling from last nightâs terror, couldnât catch a wink of sleep after Elgin left
She wasnât scared of Elginâs hatred. His sudden love that scared the bejeezus out of her!
His love, thatâs scarier than hate!
With her heart in her throat, Letitia entered the dining room, âYou wanted to see me?â
Elgin was sipping his coffee all suave, âTake a seat.
âI, I was gonna grab breakfast at the cafe next to the officeâ¦
âI wonât say it twiceâ
The Elgin today, was like when they first met. Back to his icy, aloof, business mogul vibe! She knew this
distance all too well!
Letitia had no choice but to sit her butt down.
Breakfast was a feast, with vaned food, but her appetite was in her boots, eating like she was walking
on eggshells
â.. Iâm full, she put down her fork
Elgin glanced over. Thats all youâre eating?â
âUm. Iâm not big on breakfast
âEat up, Elgin started piling food on her plate. âYou can go when youâre doneâ
Letitia wanted to say no, but one look at his eyes and she silently picked up her fork again
Itâs better not to challenge him, sheâs not going to come out on top of that battle
âDonât work late these days. Elgin added, âFocus on your health
Despite the concern lacing his words, they sent a chill running down Letitiaâs spine.
âI, Iâm recovenng okay,â she replied, âI can work normallyâ
Elgin just gave a slight smirk, his expression an enigma.
The food in Letitiaâs mouth got harder to swallow.
Something felt off. like something was about to go down.
Just then, the butler hurried over. âMr. Ramirez, I donât know what happened, Ms. Ward is here,
kneeling and crying at the gate, insisting on seeing you.â
âUseless, canât even keep a wornan in check, and she ends up at Ivory Towers? Elginâs face darkened.
The butler hung his head, replying, âTII deal with the bodyguard who screwed up.â
Tell her to get lost, Elgin hissed. âI donât want to see her now!â
Letitiaâs grip on her fork tightened
Elgin, who used to be so smitten with Shela, now could be this heartless!
Finally, after finishing the food he piled on her plate, Letitia thought she had a chance to scoot when
Elgin spoke again âRide with me.
1.
âTry saying no
Letitia had no choice but to get in his car.
As the car left Ivory Towers, Letitia caught a glimpse of Shela
She was pinned to the ground by two bodyguards, her mouth sealed with duct tape, her eyes
desperate, watching the direction of the
car
Looks like she never left, trying every trick in the book to see Elgin.
And Elgin? Heâs buried in paperwork, oblivious to the drama outside. He sat there, detached and
majestic.
Suddenly, the driver floored it, and Letitia lurched forward uncontrollably.
A hand reached out, cushioning her forehead to prevent a collision with the seatback
âWhatâs going on? Elgin sounded peeved
âMr. Ramirez, someoneâs blocking the way, weâd hit them if we didnât stop.â
There was Mark, arms spread wide, practically hugging the carâs hood.
Talk about a death wish!
But then again, he and Shela were dreaming of riding Elginâs coattails to the top. Now that their planâs
blown, theyâd do anything to salvage the situation whatâs a little car bump to them?
And the driver wouldnât dare hit them
âMr. Ramirez, give Shela a chance to explain⦠Mark was on his knees in front of the car, âItâs all my
fault, I put her up to it, donât blame
hert
âMr. Ramirez!â Shela struggled free and ran over, kneeling down next to Mark.
Elgin massaged his brow, then stepped out of the car with a long stride.
âMr. Ramirez!â Mark called out, âI told Shela, it was my vanity that put her in this, Iâve dragged her
down. From now on, Iâll cut ties with her, and let her stay good by your side!â
Elgin snorted. A whole nightâs brainstorming, and this was their plan.
Pin it all on Mark, sacrifice him to save Shela
Elgin was stone-faced, âKeep her by my side⦠to keep scheming against me?â
âNo, I wouldnât, Shela blurted out, âI promise I wonât do a thing! Mr. Ramirez. Iâm all yours, my
innocence is yours, without you, Iâm truly
on a dead-end street..â
Here she goes, playing the sympathy card again
She knew the weight in Elginâs heart about that night was significant
But Letitia got out of the car.
âMaking yourself out to be so pitiful, huh Letitia walked up to Shela, âYou had everything, just had to
wait it out, and Elgin wouldâve banded it all to you on a silver platter. Too bad your greed got the better
of you and you blew it all.â
âLetitia, shut up! This is all your fault!â
Shela still couldnât figure out how on earth Letitia found out about her fake pregnancy.
Where did she get her intel?
âMy fault? Honey, I havenât even started on how youâve screwed me over,â Letitia shot back. âYouâve
made your bed, now lie in it!â
Shola glared at her with venom. âYou just wait!â
Il be waiting.â Letitia cracked a smile. âWeâre just getting warmed up.â
the cast a casual glance at Shelaâs ring finger Hmm, the ring was still there.
