Odetta felt like she’d been struck by lightning, totally blindsided by the sudden job loss! The Ramirez

The steaming hot coffee was billowing with heat

you in public. What about next time? Letitia, you gotta be swift, accurate, and ruthless to nip things in

the bud ”

Letitia looked down, “You’re right. But do you remember, at the charity auction, when Shela claimed I

dirtied her dress and tried to strip me? What about that?”

His lips thinned. Letitia turned to him, “Why don’t you eliminate Shela as a future problem?”

“She’s different”

“Right” Letitia nodded, “After all, she’s someone you once had feelings for”

Elgin frowned, “I never had feelings for Shela.”

Letitia looked up and spotted Neil sitting by the window of the coffee shop, clearly visible.

Neil was always a stand-up guy, and he’d helped her before. She had no reason to snub him.

Plus, it was such an open and aboveboard spot.

Letitia walked over to the coffee shop and took a seat across from Neil.

“It’s my fault, I couldn’t protect him. Mr. Thompson, But I want to thank you for your past help, you

saved that child once. I’ll never forget that kindness.”

Neil let out a sigh, “That’s a real shame. Hang in there, alright?”

New had a soft spot for the kid since he’d saved him once before.

Letitia was stirring her coffee, head down, thinking, “Girl, you really shouldn’t get knocked up when

you’re down and out. It’s bad enough screwing over yourself, but dragging a kid into it? The little one

could’ve had a shot at experiencing this crazy, colorful world”

“Would it be too forward if I asked who the father is?”

Lenba gave a bitter twist of her lips.
