that’ll make the whole town green with envy, the next he’s pumping the brakes on the divorce. Mr.

Ramirez got new flame?”

Samson seriously wanted to gag Vidonia right then and there.

The room was dead silent.

Elgin coolly replied, “No new flame. It’s always been the old one.”

It started with Letitia – it was still her, and it would be her down the line. That was not changing.

“Ha ha ha…” Samson couldn’t help but brown-nose, “Mr. Ramirez is like a one-in-a-million guy, a real

Husband of the Year. Good luck finding someone as devoted and attentive as him!”

Vidonia’s sleeve was about to be torn off by Samson’s grip.

But then, a loud and clear “Tch” landed in everyone’s ears in the conference room.

All eyes swiveled to the source.

“Tch,” she scoffed again, “The devoted and attentive man you find might just turn out to be a ghost.”

Vidonia seriously wanted to stand up and give Letitia a standing ovation!

Letitia just smirked, “Good guys are like ghosts. No one’s ever seen one, but plenty of people believe

they’re out there.”

Elgin tapped his fingertips lightly on the table surface again and again with a thudding sound.

It felt oppressive.

Just when everyone thought Elgin would blow his top, they heard him say, “Fair point.”

Even Samson couldn’t help but cough, “Ahem, ahem!”

“Rough around the edges, but it makes sense. Designer Sanders sure has a way with words,” Elgin

commented, “Let’s get back to the meeting.”

Letitia kept her head down, looking completely unfazed.

A male colleague couldn’t help but whisper to her, “You’ve got guts.”

She just shrugged, “Not a big deal. In the worst case, I quit.”

“You know how hard it is to get into the Ramirez Group, with the highest pay around, and you don’t

care?”

Letitia just chuckled. Let’s focus on the meeting.”

What she was unaware of was that Elgin had seen their entire whispered exchange. His eyes narrowed

The meeting dragged on for over an hour.

When it ended, Letitia was packing up and accidentally knocked over a water cup next to her.

Water splashed out, drenching the male colleague’s clothes.

He yelped and jumped up.

“So sorry,” Letitia rushed to apologize, “My bad, let me wipe it off for you.”

She quickly grabbed some tissues to dab at the spill, but the guy backed away, “No need, I got it.”

“Really sorry.”

“It’s fine…”

He snatched the tissues and bolted.

If he didn’t make a run for it… Mr. Ramirez’s glare could kill!

Too suffocating! He did nothing wrong, but better to make a quick exit!

Letitia watched his retreating back, totally puzzled.

Why the panic?

She was puzzled.

She looked down and noticed her papers were soaked too.

Letitia silently cleaned up and left for the restroom.

Standing in front of the mirror, she looked up and shrieked, “Ah!”

Reflected in the mirror was Elgin’s figure.

This is the ladies’ room! How did he get in here?

Elgin stood behind her, nonchalant, “Need a hand?”

“Elgin!” Letitia hit her limit, “You’ve been tailing me all morning, and now you follow me into the

restroom, are you a creep or what!”

“I’m your husband.”

She gritted her teeth, “Don’t forget we signed a divorce agreement! It becomes effective as soon as the

time is

up!”

Elgin moved closer, “And don’t forget until the divorce is official, we’re still married.”

As Elgin closed in, Letitia was forced to back up until she hit the sink.

Last night, he had called her that quietly from the balcony. Now… she heard it loud and clear.

And there he was, assigning her a pet name that only he could use.

“Now you have,” Elgin said, “Letty, Letty.” He repeated it over and over.

Her resistance was wearing thin with every husky and magnetic utterance.

She bit back, “Get out before someone sees… Aren’t you embarrassed?”

The more she pushed, the closer he got, until his chest was pressed firmly against hers.

“Letty,” he asked, “why are you smiling at other men?”

Letitia was utterly confused, “Smile? Who did I smile at?”

That’s my colleague from the design department!” Letitia exclaimed, “We see each other all the time,

what’s wrong with a smile?”

“Don’t you dare flash a smile at other guys, I’ve warned you.”

Letitia was totally speechless, “I wasn’t even laughing much! It’s just normal chit-chat, okay?”

Elgin was so freaking jealous!

She’s never seen a guy so obsessed with controlling her!

Letitia gritted her teeth, “I can be all smiles and sunshine with any guy because they’ve never hurt me
