Chapter 4
Raizel stormed into the Ramirez Group, fuming.
Phedra had forwarded her the news, and only then did she learn that Elgin had announced his marriage officially-
She had to see for herself who this bitch was. She was hell-bent on scratching that face, yanking out her hair, stripping her naked, and tossing her into the street!
Raizel was moving so fast in her high heels that she didnât realize the floor had just been mopped and was still wet. She nearly took a spill.
âAh!!â Raizel shrieked âWhoâs the blind idiot trying to take me down?
The staff at Ramirez Group all knew Raizel and her bad temper and kept their distance.
Only Letitia, oblivious, kept on with her tasks.
Raizel scanned the room and quickly spotted her. âYou, the dirty cleaner! You mopped this floor, didnât you? Get over
here!
Letitia lifted her head. âAre you talking to me?â
âYes! Get on your knees and dry the floor!â
Letitia frowned.
Seeing no response from her, Raizel got more pissed. âAre you deaf or what? If I had fallen just now, I would have made you pay through the nose!â
Letitia replied, âFirst off, you would need to speak human for me to understand.
âWhat the fuck?â
âAnd thereâs a âWet Floor sign right there, Letitia pointed out. âCanât you read?â
Raizel couldnât believe that even a lowly cleaner was giving her lip!
âYouâre blaming me? How dare you! Iâm firing you right now!
Letitia shot back, âYouâre firing me? Who the heck are you?
Raizel answered with pride, âIâm Elginâs fiancee, Raizel!â
âIâm Elginâs wife, though. So what?â But Letitia kept that thought to herself.
Raizel was here for a catfight! If Letitia revealed her identity, Raizel would tear her to shreds.
She couldnât afford to cross this spoiled rich girl.
âHey!â Raizel barked, âYou lowly cleaner, you know who I am now, right? Cat got your tongue?â
âOh, if my memory serves me right, Mr. Ramirez announced his marriage this morning, and the bride didnât seem to be any Ms. Morris, Letitia said with a slight smile âSo, youâre nothing
That hit Raizel where it hurt.
âThe news is fake. Elgin will never marry someone else! Our engagement was set by Mr. Marcel himself when he was alive!â
That explained everything.
No wonder Raizel was so confident.
âKeep it up.â Letitia suddenly patted her shoulder. âHope you can reclaim whatâs yours soon. Iâm rooting for you!
The seat of Mrs. Ramirez was too overwhelming for her to bear. If Raizel could take it, she would be more than happy?
âHub? Raizel was bewildered by her reaction, staring at her strangely. âYouâre supporting me?â
im super duper ultra. Before Letitia could finish Raizel joyfully waved behind her. âOh, dear Eigen

Elgin had appeared out of nowhere.
Letitia stiffened and slowly turned around. She felt slightly guilty and mostly scared. Elgin must have heard what she said, and crossing him would be dire
Elginâs presence alone commanded respect, his face a picture of displeasure.
âDear Elgin, this cleaner has nearly made me fall and was sassing me. Youâve gotta teach her a lesson!
Letitia looked down, biting her lip nervously.
âWhat do you want her to do? Elgin asked.
âMake her kneel and clean my shoes and the floor.â
Elgin turned to Letitia. âDid you hear that?â
âDid you hear it? Hurry up! Raizel was on a power trip.
In front of Elgin, she had no right to say no.
âOkay, Letitia complied. She grabbed a clean cloth, knelt on the floor, and carefully cleaned Raizelâs shoes, her reflection in the floor tiles showing her humiliated state.
Raizel laughed with satisfaction.
Watching Letitiaâs bowed back, Elgin snorted coldly, fury building within him.
So many women wanted to be Mrs. Ramirez, and how did she have the nerve to act like it was a burden? Even if the felt that way, she had no choice but to suck it up!
Elgin walked past her, deliberately stepping on her cleaning cloth, and pressing down on her fingertips:
Letitia didnât withdraw her hand, hoping this would appease his anger.
âDear Elgin, is it true that youâre married? Raizel followed him like a puppy. âBut, you promised Mr. Marcel you would marry meâ¦
Phedra had pushed Elginâs father to make this deal because she was tight with Raizel. And just the previous night, Phedra had had attempted to pull strings to get Raizel into his bed and failed!
Elgin felt nothing for her.
âYes, Iâve promised my dad. Elgin didnât bother to explain, âYou can go argue with him.â
Raizel was speechless. That was as good as telling her to drop dead!
âAnd you have no right to boss my employees around.â
Raizel was livid. In Elginâs heart, she was worth less than the cleaner she had just scored
The executive elevator doors closed, leaving Raizel on the outside
It was quitting time.
A downpour had started outside, making Letitiaâs job even harder.
She finished cleaning and was too tired to stand straight.
Elgin, ever the scene-maker, had Ranen holding an umbrella for him and the driver holding his car door open
He and she were never from the same world.
He glanced at Letitia and muttered something to Raner.
âMrs Ramirez, Mr Ramirez. Ranen approached and cleared his throat. Mr. Ramirez says you should walk home
ith a half hour drive The rain was heavy, and Letitia had no umbrella She would catch a cold or women walked back like the

âOkay, she nodded.
Seeing Letitiaâs indifferent response, Ranen couldnât help but add, âI think you could show a little weakness, and you can try to plead with Mr. Ramirez.â
She said nothing and smiled.
Constantly bowing and scraping wouldnât earn her any of Elginâs pity. He just wanted to see her suffer more.
Letitia popped her canvas bag over her head and dashed into the pouring rain.
Elgin stood on the balcony of Ivory Towers, watching Letitia in the heavy downpour.
Her wet clothes clung to her skin, outlining her killer curves and delicate figure, with hints of her underwear peeking through.
His eyes darkened. Was this woman doing this on purpose?
The more he watched, the angrier he got. Elgin grabbed his coat and headed downstairs.
At the entrance, just as Letitia made it under the shelter, Phedra walked out. They bumped into each other head-on.
âWhoa there, I nearly fell apart like a bag of bones!â Phedra glared at her. âYou must be new! So clumsy!â
âSorryâ After apologizing, Letitia was about to leave, but Phedra stopped her, looking her up and down.
âButler, what are you up to by hiring such a young and pretty temptress to stay at Ivory Towers? Or did Elgin put you up to this?â
âLady Phedra, this is Mrs. Ramirez, the butler reminded her, âthe lady of Ivory Towers.â
Phedraâs expression instantly changed. âItâs you? So you were the one who scooped up the jackpot that night!â
She had gone to great lengths to find an opportunity, slipping something into Elginâs drink to get Raizel into his bed, but it all ended up paving the way for this woman right here!
Letitia didnât understand. âWhat? Scooped up the jackpot?â
