I unlocked the door to my new dorm room after my little chat with the principle. He seemed nice enough, he gave me my keys and timetable and wished me the best of luck at this college. It turns out that the dorms have their own separate wing to the college building, so on my way (following a map I was given) I got to see quite a bit of the college as I made my way to my dorm room.

I signed as I immediately flopped onto my bed and was surprised how comfy it was. Well I wasn't sure what I was expecting but definitely not this.

My room was a nice size, and had a small walk in closet and bathroom. I gaped at the beautiful window seat on the wall opposite my bed, and a spark of inspiration filled me.

It's decorating time.

I grabbed my phone, scrolled through Spotify until I found a nice upbeat song, and got started.

Once I had finished decorating my dorm with some things that I brought especially for this (okay some would be an understatement, I may or may not have packed a whole separate suitcase...) but it made me feel a little more at home.

I smiled, proud of my decorating skills, and tapped my fingers against my phone case wondering what I should do now. I glanced at my little backpack on my bed that had my timetable in it.

I reached for the paper and scanned through my lessons. I also noticed that timings for breakfast, lunch and dinner were typed neatly in bold at the bottom of the paper.

My stomach grumbled at the thought of dinner. Sighing, I checked the time that dinner starts and saw that it starts at 7:00pm. In twenty minutes.

My heart rate immediately started to beat faster. Do I go? No. Wait, maybe? No, I should definitely just order take out.

My mind jumped back and forth until finally I shook myself out of my thoughts. This is a new start. I need this.

I had decided I will go to dinner and who knows, maybe I will make a couple of new friends.

I glanced at myself in my mirror to see if I looked presentable enough. I was thinking of taking a shower and getting changed, but my outfit I was currently in was nice. Casual, but smart.

I started at my reflection a little longer. I started to look at my face and noticed the tired bags under my eyes. My eyes looked tired, my skin looked washed out.

I shook myself out of my criticising as my eyes began to sting. Even though I had started to build up my confidence bit by bit, I would sometimes let it slip, like now, when I overthink about how I look and then it leads to even more overthinking.

I pushed those thoughts to the back of my mind, gave myself a small reassuring smile to my reflection in the mirror, and headed to the bathroom to wash my face and apply some mascara before heading down to dinner.

The cafeteria was huge. It looked like any normal cafeteria but twice the size.

Feeling a little out of place, I headed over to line up to grab some food, even though I'm pretty sure I've lost my appetite from the nerves.

Standing in the queue, I instantly whipped out my phone, wanting to distract myself and avoid the 'your the new girl' stares.

I know, I know, really smooth. I'm just bad in awkward situations...

"Are you going to get food or...?" I snapped my head around to find a girl who looked my age, holding a tray with some food on it. She had short blonde hair that came to her shoulders and she had brown eyes. She smiled at me awkwardly and I gave an awkward laugh in response.

Way to go Clara. Doing so well so far. Note the sarcasm.

"Sorry, I guess I'm just a little nervous. I'm new here so I guess this is all a little intimidating." I explained with a shrug, to which she nodded understandingly. I quickly put my phone back into my jean pocket.

"Oh my gosh! Your the new girl!" Her eyes widened with realisation. "Sorry I didn't realise before! I'm Savannah by the way, it's nice to meet you!" She bounced excitedly on her feet. I let out a relieved laugh, glad that she's friendly.

"Clara Rose." I gave her a small smile as I scanned the shelves for what I wanted to eat.

"How are you liking it here so far? Have you had a tour yet? Ooo, have you been given your timetable?" Savannah was like a little excited puppy the way she squealed, her big eyes shining.

"The school is beautiful, I've never seen anything like it! And no I haven't been given a tour yet but I did get my timetable." I explained, grabbing a tuna sand-witch and a Gatorade. She nodded enthusiastically.

"Well you can come sit with me and my friends if you want. I can help you go through your timetable and answer any questions that you have." She smiled hopefully at me.

This is all new to me, I'm so used to having fake friends who treat me like a piece of dirt, so I didn't really know how to react.

"Sure, thank you that would be great." I grinned at her and she grinned back whilst also grabbing a Gatorade. Even though we had just met, I knew we would instantly be friends.

As I was about to pay for my food, I instead crashed into a wall. I don't remember there being a wall...

I looked up, my eyes widening with realisation as I realised I had not in fact crashed into a wall, but a six foot guy with sandy blonde hair. He turned around, his eyebrows furrowing as he shot me a glare for bumping into him. My eyes widened even more at his piercing blue eyes. I heard Savannah's breath hitch from behind me.

"Watch where your going." The tall blonde guy mumbled just audible for me to hear. I raised my brows at him.

"Excuse me?" I retaliated, too tired and annoyed to let this slip. Why can't he just wait in line like everyone else? He's acting like I've just cut the que and he hasn't.

All he did was mumble in response. Wow. What a jerk.

"Whatever, just buy your food." I rolled my eyes at him which earned me another glare. Seriously? I have to admit, I get a little hangry when I'm hungry but all he had to do was apologise. I turned around to a shook Savannah who looked like she had just seen a ghost. "Can you believe that guy?" I laughed rolling my eyes. She frantically nodded, her puppy eyes still wide.

"Are you okay?" I asked hesitantly. She opened her mouth, closed it and opened it again.

"Do you know who that is?" She squeaked, voice quavering a little. I shook my head in response, turning slightly to glance back at the blonde guy.

"H-he is part of that group." She spoke this time a little more like herself. I on the other hand was very confused.

"What's 'that' group?" I questioned as I began to pay for my food (finally!). I waited until savannah paid for her food and she dragged me to the table in the corner of the canteen. I guess we aren't sitting with her friends today then. After we sat down with our food, she began to explain.

"You see those four guys over there?" She nodded her head to the table that was diagonal from us. At it sat four boys. I immediately recognised the blonde guy who just pushed infront of the line -que eye roll- but the other three I wasn't familiar with. Sitting next to the blonde was a guy with mousey hair and from here by the looks of it, he had brown eyes. Opposite him was a guy who I think has to be his twin, they look identical. The only difference is that this guys hair is slightly darker, more towards a brunette colour and he also had brown eyes. Finally my eyes travelled to the last. I recognised his dark hair and gorgeous green eyes...

Suddenly it clicked. He was the guy who walked out of the Principles office. I quickly turned back to Savannah, wanting her to continue explaining.

"They kinda run this school. There parents are super super rich, like billions upon billions rich. Anyway, they are all pretty closed off people, they don't talk much and I guess everyone is kinda scared of them. It's like they radiate power of something, you know?" Savannah signed and rested her head on her hands, gazing at the gorgeous group of boys across the canteen. I nodded my head in understanding. Every school has 'that group' but from what Savannah said here it is much much worse.

I began to become curious. "But why? Have they done something to make people stay away from them?"

"No I don't think so. They are basically like celebrities." She waved her fork in the air, gesturing to their table. "The blonde guy, that's Xavier Ledger. Everyone knows him to be a player or whatever but as far as anyone knows he's never even been in a relationship."

I glanced over to Xavier and to be honest I understood why they thought that. He just had that stereotypical look as bad as that sounds too.

"The guy next to him, that's Grayson Adams. Everyone knows him because he's captain of the ice hockey team. Next up, opposite him you have his twin brother, Thomas Adams. He's captain of the soccer team."

I glanced yet again to their table, seeing who was who.

"And finally, we have the mysterious Jameson Woods. Better known as Prince Jameson of Lacuna." Savannah started matter-of-factly. I chocked on my water, trying to see if she was joking.

"Your serious? He's a- he's the Prince?" I was shocked. I knew there was a Prince of Lacuna, two actually but I'm pretty sure he's a lot older, but I didn't realise he went here. Savannah nodded eagerly.

"Yup!" She smiled, gazing at their table.

"That's...interesting." I breathed.

"Yeah." She signed. I giggled at her as she longing gazed at them.

Throughout dinner, we got to talk and find out more about each other. We instantly became friends which is nice. It turns out Savannahs parents are famous fashion designers in the fashion industry. I explained how my father is the CEO of some designer company. She also answered any questions I had about the college and compared our timetables to see which lessons we had together.

Soon it was getting late, so we decided to leave the canteen, along with everyone else it seemed. Luckily, Savannahs dorm is just down the corridor from mine, so I didn't have to embarrass myself by walking around with a map trying to find my way.

As soon as I got in, I instantly made sure I had everything ready for my first day at college tomorrow. Let's hope this school is better than my last one.
