River's POV
Cove fell asleep during the movie, just like last time. I'm happy that she's asleep because the storm is only getting worse.
Once the movie finished and the screen went black, I turned her TV off and picked her up to bring her to bed.
"Goodnight baby," I whispered once I had her tucked in bed and kissed her on the cheek.
I decided to leave her a note in case she wakes up tomorrow and gets confused. Unfortunately, I can't stay. I have a early meeting at the layout before school, and we all know how it went when I took her with me last time.
I locked her windows and doors before driving home.
Cove's POV
I woke up surrounded by warmth. It took me a second to realize that I'm in bed. Wait, if I'm here, where's River?
I frantically started patting around my bed to see if he's here, but no luck.
I sat up and looked around my room, but it's empty. I guess he went home.
My alarm went off so I quickly turned it off, as well as the other five I set after. What can I say, I'm a very heavy sleeper.
I got up in one swift movement and skipped to my bathroom to take a nice hot shower.
After stripping, I got in the shower and hummed as the water hit my back. Closing my eyes, I let the water get my hair completely wet before blindly lathering what I hope is shampoo in it and washing it out soon after.
I opened my eyes to find the conditioner and put it in my hair. While I let it sit, I washed my face and
my body. I then rinsed it out and grabbed a brush. I quickly brushed out my hair and got out of the shower, wrapping a pink fluffy towel around me.
I skipped to my bedroom and picked out a white shirt, light denim jeans and a dark pink fluffy jacket.
Then, I went to make my bed, and when I was done I noticed something on my nightstand. It's a note.
I picked it up to read it and it said:
Good morning baby, you fell asleep during the movie so I brought you to your bed. I have to go but I'll pick you up for school,
<3 River
That's so sweet, he left me a note. I shoved it in a random drawer and skipped downstairs to make breakfast.
I decided to make toast so I grabbed two pieces of bread and stuck them in the toaster. While I was waiting for them to toast, I got out the bottle of Nutella and a butter knife.
Ding-dong
The doorbell rang. It's way too early for River to be here, it has to be someone else. I silently tip-toed to the peephole and looked through to see none other then my 2 favorite people in the whole wide world.
I quickly opened the door and was met with my parents. "Mom, Dad!" I squealed and instantly let them in.
"Morning Cove," Dad said and strolled into the kitchen. "What's cooking?"
"Toast! But none for you," I joked. Dad gave me a pretend shocked face that morphed into a hurt one.
"But I though that I was your favorite parent," he gasped.
"Never!" I yelled and ran to hug my Mom.We all erupted in a fit of laughter while I went to take my toast out of the toaster. Nice and crispy, just how I like it! I put the 2 pieces on a plate and lathered Nutella all over them.
"Want some toast with your Nutella?" Mom joked, and I shot her a fake glare.
"No, Nutella is superior," I said as I sat down at the table. My parents joined me, my Dad had grabbed an apple while my Mom didn't have anything.
"So, how was the storm?" Mom asked as I took a bite of my toast. She knows how much I hate them.
"It was bad, but I had River to accompany me, speaking of which, I have to tell you about him!"
My parents are like my best friends, I tell them everything. They're pretty young, my Mom had me at eighteen so we've always had a super close relationship. I guess I really haven't had the chance to tell them about River yet.
"Mom, Dad, River is my boyfriend."
My Dad's face was full of shock, while my Mom's looked exited. "Yay, my baby's growing up!" My Mom was the first to speak. I smiled and nodded.
"I'm happy for you Cove, but when do we meet him?" My Dad asked.
"Well actually, he should be here any minute. He's been taking me too and from school." I answered as I ate the last piece of my toast and stood too put my plate in the sink.
On cue, the doorbell rang and I ran to answer it.
"Good morning River!" I said and hugged him. "Morning Cove," he replied.
I pulled away once I remembered my parents that are probably confused right now.
"River, meet my parents," I said as I lead him inside. They all looked at each other for a while while I stood there awkwardly until River finally spoke.
"Nice to meet you, miss..." River started as he reached out his hand to shake my Mom's hand.
"You can call me Tasha," Mom said while shaking his hand.
"And you are?" Mom asked.
"Oh, I'm River," River said and turned to shake my Dad's hand.
"Mark," Dad said while shaking River's hand. River nodded and turned back to me.
"Ready to go?" He asked, and I nodded before running to put my shoes on.
River followed and picked my backpack up for me.
"Bye Mom, bye Dad!" I yelled as we headed to the door.
"Bye sweetie, have a great day!" Mom said and we left. Funny how Dad only said one thing the entire exchange, and it was his name.
"So, I didn't know I would be meeting your parents," River said while opening the door for me.
"Yeah, sorry I didn't know that they would be here. They're almost always working," I replied.
"It's okay, ready for school?" He asked as he sat in the driver's seat and started the car.
"I guess so," I mumbled while turning to look out of the window.
I'm definitely not ready.

School just finished and boy did a lot happen. Not only were people staring 2 times more than they were yesterday, but I also couldn't go anywhere without getting bombarded with questions.
At lunch, my friends wouldn't stop asking me questions either. River wasn't anywhere to be found when I went to look for him to ask him to come to lunch with me, so I was all alone.
I guess they were just scared of him yesterday, because today they wouldn't stop talking. It was exhausting, but anyways I'm right now heading to the office to see who I'm tutoring. I hope I get someone good.
I got to the office and saw a big piece of paper taped to the door. There's a few people crowded around it, but I'm still able to see.
The paper has a bunch of names on it. I searched it and found my name.
Cove Bentley will be tutoring Brad Davis.
I know Brad, he's a popular football player. I've never really talked to him before, but I guess he might be nice.
I looked further down the paper and saw River's name. I didn't know he's in tutoring.River's with some random boy who's name I don't recognize. I wonder who he is, maybe I'll meet him sometime.
Okay I've been standing here forever like a creep, I should go. Just as I was about to turn around, someone tapped my shoulder.
I froze. It's not River, River's hand doesn't feel like that. It's not my friends either, if I was one of my friends they probably would have pulled me back or something.
Cove, you're overthinking this, you're probably just in someone's way. Right, okay. I turned around and came face to face with Brad.
Brad has dirty blonde hair and bright blue eyes. He's also way taller than me, but not as tall as River.
Brad is standing way too close for comfort, so I took a couple of steps back. Meanwhile, Brad just stared at me without saying anything.
"Umm, so do you want to start tomorrow?" I asked to break the silence. Way to go Cove, what if he doesn't even know you're his tutor yet?
Brad smirked and stepped closer to me.
"I would love too," he whispered in my ear. His voice sent a shiver down my spine, but not in a good way.
He seemed to misinterpret my shiver as his smirk grew wider and he stepped even closer. "Uhh.. I have to go, I'll meet you tomorrow at the library after school?"
"Sure," he whispered, and I spared no time in pushing past him.
"Weird," I mumbled under my breath and looked up to see River staring daggers at Brad's head. When did he get here? He looks angry so I gently grabbed his hand to announce my presence.
His head shot down to me and his expression changed to a softer one. Without saying anything, he tightened his grip on my hand and began to lead me to the door.
"Is it just me or was Brad acting weird?" I asked once we out of earshot.
River looked down at me and chuckled slightly. "Yeah, weird," he said.
We walked to his car silently. He opened the door for me and I mumbled a thank you as I got in. He nodded and got in on his side, then started the car.
"Thanks for ditching me at lunch today," I said with a pout after sitting silently for a while . River sighed and looked at my pouty face and crossed arms for half a second before turning back to the road.
"Sorry about that, I had something to do." When I didn't respond, he took one of his hands off the steering wheel and grabbed my hand.
"I'm sorry Baby, I lost track of time I really didn't mean to," he said while rubbing the back of my hand with his thumb. Hmm, he's getting warmer.
I thought for a second before coming up with a solution. "I'll forgive you under one condition," I said.
"And what's that?" River asked.
"You take me to ice cream," I said half-jokingly.
River laughed and shook his head.
"You've got yourself a deal," he said and changed lanes to the one that would lead to the ice cream parlor.
At the ice cream shop:
River parked near the front and we walked inside hand in hand. The bell rang as we entered and I looked around. It's nearly empty, probably because it's still wet and cold outside after the storm.
We walked straight to the counter since there's no line, and I looked through the glass case. There's a lot of flavors, at least 40, but I decided to go simple with strawberry. Can't go wrong with strawberry.
I looked at River and saw him looking at all of the flavors as well. When he found one, he looked up and saw me staring at him.
My cheeks heated up and I blushed at being caught staring. River simply raised an eyebrow while smirking. Unlike Brad, River's smirk is adorable.
"Umm, can you order for me?" I asked just loud enough for him to hear.
To my relief, he nodded and asked what I want.
I hate ordering, it gives me anxiety. The last time we came here, I sucked it up and ordered so River wouldn't think that I'm a scaredy cat. But this time I'm just too nervous, plus River has already seen me get scared, so I don't think he'll judge me.
River rang the bell on the counter, and a few seconds later out came a teenage girl. She's super pretty, her brunette hair bounced as she walked and her beautiful hazel eyes gleamed.
"What can I get you handsome?" She asked and winked at River. Umm, excuse me, does she not see me?
"I'll have one scoop of chocolate, while my girlfriend will have a scoop of strawberry," he said. Wow, that was smooth.
The girl looked over at me when he said girlfriend and gave me up and down before scowling. Rude.
"Your total is 6.75," she said coldly and went to scoop the ice cream. River handed her the money and she handed us our ice creams.
I looked down and frowned when I realized that my ice cream scoop is tiny. Like super small, barely passable as a scoop.
River noticed that I was frowning and followed my gaze to my sad I've cream scoop. He scowled at the size and turned back to the counter. Sadly, the girl was long gone.
He reached for the bell, but I pulled his hand away. "It's okay, a full scoop is a lot anyways," I said with a reassuring smile.
River mumbled something under his breath, but dropped it none the less and lead me to a table at the far end of the shop. He sat down first, and I went to sit but he grabbed my hips and placed me in his lap.
I let out a surprised squeal, but didn't argue against it. We ate our ice cream silently, and unsurprisingly River finished before me. I still had a few spoonfuls left so I quickly started eating them.
Halfway through, I suddenly felt something wet on my neck. Then again.
I realized that it's River's lips, he's kissing my neck! Even worse, in public.
I froze in place and heard him chuckle before placing one last lingering kiss on my neck, then pulling back and standing up.
"Let's go," he said and took my hand without waiting for me to respond. I desperately shoved the last spoonful of ice cream in my mouth, then threw it out as we passed the trash can.
We walked to his car and he drove silently. When he pulled into my driveway 15 minutes later, I reached for the handle to get out, but he stopped me.
