Cove's POV

"Cove baby, wake up." I groaned and pulled the warm blanket up above my head. My bed feels oddly comfortable today.

I heard River chuckle, wait, when did he get here? Then it all hit me, I'm at his house in his bed.

In one swift movement, he pulled me out of bed and onto my feet. I blinked a couple of times and rubbed my eyes.

"Good morning," I yawned and wrapped my arms around River's stomach. "Good morning baby," he replied and pulled me in closer.

We stayed like that for a moment and my eyes started closing as I sunk into his warm embrace. With his strong arms holding me against him and my head resting on his hard chest, I'm going to fall back asleep.

"Let's go to your house so that you can change. We can eat there or grab food on the way," River suggested, breaking the comfortable silence.

"Okay, let's go," I agreed and ran to grab my clothes from yesterday, all of my sleepiness suddenly forgotten.

I went to his bathroom and quickly put them on, then went back to his room.

"Do you want to go to the bakery near my house? It has really good food," River asked once I re-entered.

"Sure," I answered and grabbed his hand. We walked downstairs and River put on his shoes, then we got into his white car. River drove silently while I focused on looking through the window.

The bakery was only about 5 minutes from his house, so we got there quickly.

River opened the door for me and we went inside.

The place is small but cozy. There's a big display case in the front incasing dozens upon dozens of donuts and other pastries.

After looking at everything for the fifth time, I decided on a glazed donut.

River was still looking, so I gently tugged on his shirt to get his attention. He immediately looked down a gave me a small smile.

"Um, can you please order for me? I want the glazed donut," I asked.

"Of course baby," he replied and pulled me closer to his side, wrapping an arm around my waist. As if sensing that we are ready to order, the owner came out from the back and walked up to the counter.

"Hi, what can I get you," the older woman asked.

"Can we have one glazed donut and one chocolate croissant?" River asked.

"Yes, of course," the woman replied and put our stuff in bags.

"That'll be 8.76, thank you," she said and handed us our stuff. River payed and we walked out. We walked to his car, and just as I was about to get in, River stopped me.

"Cove wait, I haven't had a kiss yet," he said. Oh my gosh, he's right. I totally forgot.

"Oops, sorry I forgot," I said and looked at him with an apologetic smile. River pulled me against him and softly attached our lips.

We kissed slow, but it was still equally as good as all of the other ones we've shared.

"I forgive you," River said with a smile as he pulled away.

"Yay." I climbed into his car and he followed suit. In no time, we were on the road again.

I grabbed the bag and took out the delicious looking donut, but just as I was about to take a bite, my phone suddenly dinged. I picked it up to see 15 messages and 7 missed calls from my parents.

"Oh no," my eyes widened. They must be so worried.

"What is it?" River asked, giving me a concerned side glance.

"I forgot to tell my parents where went," I replied and wasted no more time in calling them back. My phone only rang three times before my mom picked up.

"Mom, I'm so sorry I forgot to tell you I-" I began ranting.

"Cove, it's fine we were worried at first but your boyfriend answered one of our calls last night and told us where you went," Mom interrupted. I shot River a harsh glare and he laughed.

"Oh, is he there? He seems like such a nice young man, handsome too. Perfect for you Cove, have you guys done anything yet if ya know what I mean?Oh! Is that why you went there? What did yo-"

"Mom...Mom stop it! You're on speaker!" I yelled. River started laughing even harder, so hard that I got scared he's going to crash the car.

"Oh, sorry honey it's just-" I took her off speaker and listened to the rest of her rant by myself.

"Okay Mom, well I have to go, bye!" I said once she finished and hung up right after. Silence developed and I silently started counting down the seconds until River will burst out laughing.

8,7,6,5,4,3,2- he giggled which turned into full on laughter. I didn't even make it to one.

"Shush, I don't even want to hear it," I said unamused, although I'm secretly holding in a smile. River looked at my annoyed face and laughed harder.

I couldn't contain my laughter any longer so I chuckled and quickly looked away. After a few minutes, River finally calmed down and we drove the rest of the way to my house silently eating our food.

As soon as River pulled into the driveway, I ran out of his car and into my house. I unlocked the door so fast that it's like it was already open. Might as well have been.

I got to my room and quickly put together an outfit. I picked a black shirt that says 'sunrise sunburn sunset repeat' and some denim shorts with a random pair of sandals.

River's footsteps echoed up the staircase and I wasted no time in rushing inside my bathroom, shutting the door once I got inside.

Why am I running from River? You may ask. Well the answer is, I'm just trying to spite him for messing with me in the car. Plus, don't think that I forgot about how he stole half of sandwich on Monday. Like I said previously, no one messes with my food.

I got undressed, then took my sweet sweet time changing into my new outfit. It has returned to being hot outside after that terrible thunderstorm a few days ago, so my outfit is perfect for the weather.

I brushed my hair and put half up with the rest down. Then I brushed my teeth and applied some lipgloss.

After that, I finally went back to my room and I found River sitting on my bed. As soon as I entered, he turned and smirked at me. Oh no, this can't be good.

He silently motioned me over and I cautiously walked to him. Once I got within arms reach, he pulled me in between his legs.

"Cove," he said. I opened my mouth to answer, but my words were instantly muffled by River's lips. He moved his lips against mine, and I reciprocated the action.

My legs gave out a few seconds into the kiss but River's strong arms kept me up. He pulled me onto his lap, and from there he easily dominated me in our kiss.

While his tongue explored every single inch and crevice of my mouth, I  struggled simply to keep up with his pace.

After a minute I reluctantly pulled back for air, and River used it as an opportunity to start trailing kisses down my jaw. He moved from my jaw down to my neck and lightly sucked on some places. When sucked on an area right above my collar bone, I moaned in pleasure.

I felt him smirk against my skin, then he pulled back. "Looks like I found your sweet-spot baby," he said huskily before putting his lips on the same area.

I moaned in pain and pleasure when he bit down and sucked harshly. He repeated the same action to 3 more spots all across my neck, then licked the irritated areas before re-attaching our lips.

We kissed at a medium pace this time and I found it much easier to keep up. Our kiss was now less rough and more sweet. He took his time exploring my mouth, while I somehow found my hands in his hair.

River pulled back and leaned his forehead on mine.

"That was amazing Cove," he whispered, looking me in the eyes.

I smiled in response and moved my head to his shoulder.

I started playing with the hair on the nape of his neck while he traced random shapes on my back.

"Alright, we have to go to school," River said, breaking the silence that lasted a few minutes.

"Noooo," I whined, but he ignored me and stood up, placing me on my feet.

"Let's go," he said as he grabbed my hand. We walked out to his car and got, then he pulled out of my driveway.

"River," I called softly after sitting in silence for a couple of minutes.

"Hmm," he replied without taking his eyes off the road.

"Why do you suddenly care about school?" I asked teasingly. He was willing to ruin our intimate moment just so that we'll get to school on time.

Not that I'm complaining, attendance is important. But why the sudden interest?

River turned and shot me a playful glare. I chuckled and put my hands up in surrender. "I'm just asking," I laughed.

I can tell that he's holding back a smile. It feels good to make him smile. "Well you're very adamant in your studies, so I'm just supporting you."

It's my turn to smile. River cares about what's important to me and it makes me happy.

"Thank you River," I said with a huge grin. He flashed me a small smile in return, and placed his free hand on my thigh. I initially stiffened at the contact, but relaxed after a couple of seconds. He lightly caressed my exposed skin as if to say that everything's okay.

Silence developed once again, so I faced the window. Today is a warm summer day and the sun is brightening up the whole city.

I know that this is going to be one of the last bright and warm days before fall comes, so I should make the most of it. Maybe I can go on a walk later, oh and maybe River can come.

"River, will you go on a walk with me later?" I asked while turning to face him. One of his arms is griping the steering wheel, making his muscles pop in a very attractive way. The other is still resting on my thigh. His eyes are concentrated on the road in front of us.

"Of course baby," he answered with a small smile. I smiled at his answer and turned to the window again. I can't wait!

We soon got to school and I mentally prepared for all of the staring.

Little did I know, I didn't have too.

Much to my excitement, the second we walked inside everyone turned away and purposely avoided looking at us.

I smiled to myself and looked up at River to find him staring down at me with a satisfied smile. His smile widened at the happy expression on my face.

I excitedly pulled his hand and nearly skipped to my first class. All throughout my first period, everybody avoided making eye contact with me.

No questions, no people at my desk, no nothing. This is the best day ever.

I went to second period and sat with River. The teacher went on and on about something that I wasn't even paying attention too. I was too distracted by my own happiness.

Third period went the same, and at lunch River and I sat outside again. We, well I, ate peacefully. River still didn't bring a lunch, although he did smoke a cigarette much to my disgust.

The school day flew by after lunch, and before I knew it River and I were driving to my house. We decided to go to my home first so that I can drop off my backpack and grab a few things.

River pulled into the driveway and I rushed inside. I ran upstairs and dropped my backpack on the floor, then ran back downstairs to grab a water bottle.

"Ready?" I asked to River who's still standing at my doorway with an amused expression. He gave me a nod and walked outside with me trailing behind him.

I shut and locked the door, and just like that, we were off. "So, where should we go?" I asked after walking down a few blocks in a random direction. River simply shrugged without even looking at me.

I frowned slightly at his silence, but it quickly disappeared when I came up with a good idea.

"How about we go to the park?" I suggested. River smiled at my enthusiasm and finally looked at me.

"Whatever you want baby," he replied. I smiled and silently held out my hand. When he grabbed it, I laced our fingers together.

We walked towards the park in a very comfortable silence. With the silence surrounding us, I let my thoughts wonder.

I started thinking about how quickly this last week has gone. I had my first encounter with River exactly one week ago when I ran into him at school. And now here we are, he declared that I'm his and we've already had our first kiss. It's crazy to say, but I already trust River with my life.

Trust is something that should develop over a long period of time, but here I am. I completely trusted River on the first day that I ever even spoke to him when Hector was out to get me. There's just something about him that drives me crazy.

"River," I called softly.

"Yes princess?" He answered.

"Can you believe that we met only a week ago?" I asked.

He paused to think, then shook his head. "It feels like forever, I can't believe I ever lived without you."

I smiled and a blush rose up my cheeks. Did he imply that can't without me? No, I'm just overthinking it. He doesn't think that of me. As if reading my thoughts, River suddenly stopped and turned to face me.

"I can't live without you, we just meet but you're already my everything. I'd go crazy without you," he said and lifted up my chin with his spare hand. Our other hands are still attached.

I smiled and tears pricked the back of my eyes. No one has ever something so nice to me, not even my own parents.

"I wouldn't be able to live without you either," I said truthfully. He smiled and pulled me into a hug.

When I pulled away a minute later, he stopped me from moving too far.

Without saying anything, he leaned forwards and attached our lips.

Our kiss was different then all of the other ones we've ever had. It was full of happiness, excitement and something else.

Love?

No. It's too early for love. It has to be something else, maybe appreciation. Yeah, appreciation. We both appreciate each other very much.

At least I do. I appreciate how much River cares for me. Not only does he care for my safety, but he also cares for my comfort and my wellbeing.

I care about him as well. I just hopes that he sees that. We pulled away from our kiss and started walking towards the park again.

I care about you River, always remember that.
