Cove's POV
River and I just made it to the park and we're currently sitting on a bench next to the fountain. The fountain is super pretty, it's made out of white concrete and it has two layers. There's a few angels with water squirting out of them as well. The water is crystal clear so you can see all of the shining coins spread along the bottom.
Speaking of coins, I want to make a wish. I stood up and started searching my pockets for some coins. Yes! I came up with 2 pennies and a quarter.
"What are you doing baby?" River asked. I jumped back, completely forgetting about his presence.
"Woah, you scared me!" I exclaimed and put my hand on my heart. He chuckled and stood up with a smirk on his face.
Not this again. We're in public for goodness sake!.
"Riverrr not here," I whined as he came closer, but my pleas fell upon deaf ears.
"Shhhh," he whispered as he closed the gap between us.
"But-" he cut me off by gently placing his lips on mine. All of my objections were immediately forgotten and I kissed him back passionately. It took no time for the kiss to become heated, and I put my arms around his shoulders. He put his arms around my waist and pulled me closer.
"Mmm, River," I moaned against his lips. He smirked and tightened his grip on my waist. I reluctantly pulled away after a pleasure filled minute, and he took the time to trail kisses down my neck.
I suddenly realized where we are and stepped back. "Why'd you move?" River smirked. He knows exactly what he did.
"You know what you did, luckily I'm smart and I stopped you," I stated victoriously while pointing an accusing finger at him.
"That you are," he said stepping closer, once again filling the gap. Before he could kiss me again though, I wrapped my arms around him and put my head on his chest.
"Lets just hug instead," I mumbled into his shirt. He smiled and brought me closer. "Sure baby."
After a while hugging, we sat back down on the bench.
"So, River, do you want to play twenty questions?" I asked. I feel like I don't really know a lot about him. Sure I know what cars he owns and what his house looks like, but that's not much. We've been with each other constantly, but I still feel like I barely know anything.
"Okay, you go first," he replied.
"Hmm, what's your favorite color?" I asked. Such a basic question, yet I don't know the answer.
"Black. What's your favorite season?" He asked.
"Spring because of all of the pretty flowers! I love flowers so much. Not as much as dogs though, I love dogs even more! They're so fluffy and cute an-" I cut myself off once I realized that I was rambling.
River started laughing and I felt my cheeks turn a bright pink. "Sorry, I ramble a lot," I mumbled. River shook his head as a sign that it's okay, and I smiled.
"Your turn! What's your favorite holiday?"
We continued on asking question after question, and I found out a lot about River. For example, his favorite tv genre is horror (shocker), his dream vacation is Paris and most surprisingly, his favorite animal is an otter.
An otter! The school bad boy likes otters! That's adorable.
After talking and having lots of fun, River decided that it's time to head back.
We stood up and I grabbed his hand.
"So, River do you wan-" I was cut off by his phone ringing. He let go of my hand and checked the caller I.D, immediately answering it once he saw who it is.
"Yeah... okay... f*ck I'm coming," he said and hung up straight after. He looked at me with anger displayed on his face, but it softened a little at my confused look.
"Sorry baby I have to go, c'mon i'll walk you home really quick," he sighed and grabbed me hand. I didn't have a chance to answer before he practically started dragging me towards my house.
"River, can't you stay a little longer?" I asked sadly. He looked at me apologetically and said, "sorry, it's super important baby. I would if I could though." I frowned and mumbled an okay.
We arrived at my house way to quickly and he practically shoved me inside. He gave me a quick goodbye peck, then sped off to who knows where.
Great, I sighed and slumped down on the couch. Now what? Life is so boring without River. I guess I should take a shower and see from there.
I ran upstairs and undressed, then started the shower. Once it was warm, I got in and washed my body with my rose scented body wash, then washed my hair with my vanilla scented shampoo and conditioner.
After my shower, I slipped on some comfy clothes which consisted of a white cropped tank-top with a matching pink tie dye jacket and shorts set.
I climbed onto my bed and stared at the wall. I'm bored. Soon I felt my eyes start dropping. No, I can't fall asleep. I need to wait for River to text or call me first. What if he's in danger and needs me?
I kept repeating that to myself in order to stay awake. A few minutes later, I gave up and laid down.
River's strong, he can take care of himself, right? I didn't get my answer because I quickly found myself lost in a world of sleep.
River's POV
As we were getting ready to leave, Andrew called me to me that Ernie showed up to the warehouse and I need to get there ASAP.
I rushed Cove home and left, not before giving her a quick peck though. There's always time for kisses.
I drove way over the speed limit while swerving through lanes all the way to the warehouse. When I finally arrived, it had only 10 minutes instead of the usual 20. Oops.
As soon as I got out of my car, I saw Ernie and a dozen of other men at the door. Andrew and a handful of my guys are blocking him from entering.
I immediately called backup and ordered half of the people hanging out at the layout to stand guard, just in case he sends some of his men there.
This is nothing I can't handle, I don't know why Andrew made it sound so urgent.
"Ernie," I stated coldly. My voice made everyone's head turn to me, I guess they didn't hear my car.
"Oh um River, I-I didn't think you'd get her so.. so quickly!" He chuckled and scratched the back of his neck. Could he make any more obvious that he's nervous?
I rolled my eyes and walked right up to him, completely ignoring the guns being pointed at my head.
"D-don't come a-any closer," he stuttered. I rolled my eyes once again and easily pushed away the gun digging into my skull.
"Stand down," I ordered bluntly. All of his men immediately dropped their weapons on the floor. Pussies.
"Now, what is that you want?" I asked Ernie in an overly kind voice.
"I-umm we want our members back," he said while smoothing down his shirt and fixing his posture. I let out a cold chuckle that made him instantly melt back into his shy form.
"Let me get this straight, you want 'your' guys back, the ones who you sent to steal our information in exchange for a secure spot in your pathetic little 'gang' once you 'destroyed' ours!" I yelled, getting louder after every word.
He quickly nodded and dropped his gaze to the ground.
I chuckled again and in a flash I had him pinned up against the wall with my hand grasping his neck.
"I'll say this once, and once only. Your 'members' are rotting in a cell down in this building. They'll all be dead by next week, and unless you want to join them, I suggest you leave right now!"
He vigorously nodded with tears forming in his eyes from the lack of oxygen.
"Good," I whispered and dropped him on the ground. His hands went straight to his neck as he gasped for air. His men scrambled to help their leader up and then they ran back to their cars.
"Pff, what little weaklings," I mumbled, and walked inside."Andrew, call off backup," I ordered. He gave me a stiff nod and a "yes sir" before walking off.
I let out a deep breath and walked to the elevator. Once I got in, I pressed the button to the top floor. On the top floor I have my office and extra bedroom. I only stay there if we have a bad situation where they might need me in any moment, or if I'm too tired to drive home. I also don't use my office much because I don't do a lot of office work. That's someone else's job.
But right now I need to set up a meeting so I can do my public punishment. I also need to set up a time where I can introduce Cove and claim her as mine, but that won't be for a while. I still don't trust my men, and until I can, I'm not putting Cove in another dangerous situation.
I can't bring her to a place like this. Sure, if I'm with her everything will be fine. But if she gets separated again, I don't even want to think about what could happen. Just the thought of what might happen makes me feel sick.
I shook those thoughts away. Right now I need to focus on setting up a public punishment, then I can think about how to make this place safe for a small girl like her.
I opened my computer and looked a the calendar. Saturday is free, but is it the best option? I looked at some other available dates and eventually decided that Saturday it is.
I took out my phone and dialed Ryan. He answered immediately.
"Hello?"
"Ryan, I'm planning on setting up a meeting this Saturday 12 to 3ish for a public punishment," I said.
"Oh really! For who!" He exclaimed. I almost laughed at his excitement. Almost.
"The three new moles, whatever their names are," I said.
"Oh okay, cool. I'll get someone to spread the word," he smirked. I can feel his smirk through the phone, sicko. I hung up without replying, which just means okay. Then I started thinking of so possible times for Cove's claiming.
I can't help but feel exited to claim her. Even though we're already girlfriend and boyfriend, this just confirms it. It shows the public that she's mine, and once that happens, no one will ever touch her again.
If anyone is stupid enough to mess with her after this, then they'll regret it for the rest of the short-lived lives. No one in the right mind will ever touch my Cove again.
After that I headed back to my car.
I think I'll visit Cove again, yeah that's what I'll do.

I pulled up in Cove's driveway after 20 minutes since I drove safely this time.
I walked up a knocked on the door.
No answer. I knocked again, still nothing. Deciding to test my luck, I turned the handle and surprisingly the door opened. What did I tell her about locking the door?
Well I guess in this situation it works out because she wasn't answering. It's probably nothing, but I can't help but worry a little. Why didn't she answer?
I guess I'm about to find out, I thought as I walked inside and up the stairs.
I made it her to her room and lightly pushed open the door. When I inside, I saw the cutest thing ever.
Cove's asleep with her mouth slightly open and her body curled up around a pillow. I smiled to myself and quietly walked to her, not wanting to wake her up.
When I got closer I noticed her still damp hair sprawled out on a different pillow. She must have just showered less than half an hour ago. She's wearing some comfy clothes that aren't pajamas though, so I don't think she meant to fall asleep.
Aww Cove, always falling asleep. I took off my shoes and pulled off my hoodie, then slid in next to her. She instantly wrapped around me and mumbled my name in her sleep.
"Shh, Cove it's me, I'm right here. Go to sleep angel," I whispered soothingly while stoking her hair. She relaxed in my arms and her breathing fell back into a nice rhythm. With Cove in my arms and the soft sound of her breathing, I soon found my own eyes drooping. Then I fell into a deep, deep sleep.
Too deep.
