Cove's POV

"Oh hello there mister piggy, how are you today?"

The pig oinked and started changing color. His pig nose morphed into a smaller one, followed by the rest of his body. Before I knew it, there stood a cute little puppy. I squealed and reached out to pet it, but just as my hand shot out...

I woke up pressed against something hard. The thing is moving up and down. The thing is snoring softly. The thing is River.

When did he get here? Also, that was the best dream ever, except for I didn't get to pet the puppy. Oh well.

Oh no.What if my parents saw us like this? No no no no no. Knowing my Mom, she'll probably get the wrong idea. Well I guess it's too late now to do anything.

I somehow managed to maneuver out of River's strong grip and I turned to face him. As soon as I faced him, his arms shot out and pulled me back against him two times harder. Ugh.

I squirmed around with no luck of getting out of hold. Why does he have to be so strong? This clearly is not going to work, I need to think of something else. Oh I got it!

Since I can't escape his grasp, I'm going to try to wake him up instead. "River," I called softly. Nothing.

"River!" I called a little louder while shaking his arm. Still nothing.

"RIVER!" I yelled while aggressively shaking his whole body. He didn't even flinch.

"Ugh," I sighed and slumped back in defeat. It's like this is his first time sleeping in months. I looked around the room bored and spotted my clock. It's only 6:20, maybe I can make River breakfast.

That's if I can get out of his hold. It's time me for plan C! I sneakily grabbed a random pillow and slowly replaced myself with it. As soon as I completely got out, his arms squished the pillow to his chest very tightly. I wonder how he doesn't suffocate me in my sleep.

Whatever, I'm alive now and that's all that matters. I tip-toed to the door, even though it's pretty obvious that River isn't waking up anytime soon. I'm just adding some suspense, don't judge me.

Once I got through my door, I ran down stairs and into the kitchen. So much for suspense.

Hmm, what to make. What to make, Oh I know! I quickly checked the fridge and pantry to make sure that I have all of the ingredients... Yep!

I'm going to make River a lemon loaf bread. I grabbed all of the ingredients and put the appropriate things in a big mixing bowl. Lemon cake mix, check. Pudding mix, check. Vegetable oil, check. Water, check. Lemon juice, check. Eggs, check. Powdered sugar, check.

Now all I need is the loaf pan. Wait, oh no. I got so exited about making River breakfast, that I forgot that the loaf pan is in a cabinet I'm not allowed in by myself. My Dad says that it's too high and I can easily hurt myself.

But River's breakfast! I have to try, I can't give up so easily. It's fine Cove, you've got this.

I approached the cabinet cautiously. Is it just me, or did it get higher since the last time I saw it. With my high of 5'2, the cabinet easily towers over me.

Okay, 1, 2, 3! I lifted myself onto the counter in a crouching position. Now I just need to open the doors.

I grabbed the handles and pulled them open. Everything would have gone perfect, Except I pulled way to hard.

The force of the pull made me lose my balance and crash to the ground, dozens of pots and other tins falling with me. The sound of glass shattering surrounds me, and I feel an excruciating pain in my side.

"River!" I screamed. Please please help me.

River's POV

I woke up to the sound of loud crashing and glass shattering downstairs. What the hell was that? I sat up and felt around the bed for Cove. She's not here.

"River!" Cove screamed from downstairs. I shot off the bed and sprinted down the stairs.

"Sh*t!" I cursed a soon a I found her. She's on the ground with tons of dishes on top of her. She's super scratched up, but there's one spot in particular that I'm worried about. Blood is seeping through her jacket on her side. It looks like a piece of glass cut her.

I immediately ran to her a picked her up bridal style. She clung to my arm and started crying. "River, I-I'm sorry," she cried. No no no, does she think I'm mad at her?

"It's okay, It's not your fault," I soothed while I carried her to the bathroom.

"B-but I wasn't supposed to go i-in that cabinet, I-I just wanted to make you b-breakfast," she cried.

"Shh, baby it's okay. I know you didn't mean it," I rocked her and placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

Once I got to the bathroom, I set her down on the counter and looked through the covert for something to clean her up with. Aha! I found some bandages and Neil-sporn, perfect.

I wet a towel before scooping Cove back up and carrying her out to the living room. I can laid her down on the couch and unzipped her jacket. Oh. My. Gosh.

There's a large cut on her side, it has to be at least 6 inches long. My poor baby.

I stood up and said "I'll be right back, don't look." I need some rubbing alcohol.

I came back a minute later with a whole bottle of rubbing alcohol and another wet towel.

"Okay baby, close your eyes and hold my hand," I said. She immediately obeyed and tightly gripped my right hand.

I crouched down next to her and poured a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol in her cut. She hissed and started squirming, but I managed to hold her still with my arm.

"I'm sorry," I whispered and started rubbing the area with a wet towel. She stopped moving and sighed in content at the cold water pressing against her skin.

Once I was done, I realized that the cut is too big to cover with a bandaid. I need a wrap or some cloth.

"Baby, do you have something to wrap this with?" I asked. She shook her head and apologized.

"It's okay, I just need some cloth. Do you have any old shirts that I can use?" I asked.

She nodded and told me to check her room. I ran up there and found an old grey t-shirt. This will do. I ran back downstairs and tore a strip off of the shirt. Cove still has her eyes tightly shut like a good girl.

"Okay," I mumbled and tightly wrapped the cloth around her stomach, securing it with some duck tape from her kitchen.

"I'm done, you can open you eyes now princess." She opened her eyes and I smiled at her reassuringly. I then spent the next 10-15 minutes clean up little scratches around her body and putting bandaids on them.

"We're all done," I said after bandaging up her last scratch and placing a kiss on top. That's what I did to all of her scratches to make them feel better.

By this time, Cove's cries had turned into light sniffles. She smiled a raised her arms, indicating that she wants me to pick her up. I obeyed and she wrapped her legs around my waist. She's too cute.

I carried her to the kitchen and set her down in a chair. "What do you want to eat baby?" I asked.

"Eggs please," she asked nicely and I pulled out 2 eggs and a pan. I made her eggs scrambled because I recently learned that's how she likes them.

"Here baby," I set the plate in front of her and gave her a fork. For the next 10 minutes, Cove happily ate her eggs while I cleaned up all of the dishes that fell. There's a lot of shattered glass, and I don't want her to get hurt.

Once I finished, I went back to the table and sat down next to Cove. I stared at her intensely while she ate the last few bites of eggs on her plate. By the blush creeping up her cheeks, I know she can tell.

"Why are you staring at me?" She asked softly while looking down at her plate. I simply shrugged and leaned back in the chair with a smirk on my face, my eyes never leaving her beautiful face.

What is there not to stare at? Her beautiful pink plump lips, her deep brown eyes, her cute little button nose. Her rosy cheeks that turn bright red when she blushes, her luscious wavy blond hair, her light freckles that glow in the sun? Exactly, nothing. She's absolutely beautiful.

I can't believe I have her, such a beautiful, kind, adorable girl. I wouldn't want anything else. Now that I have her, I'm never letting her go. I'm going to always make her happy and I'll never let harm come her way.

She's mine.

I'm already so whipped for her, and from here, my feelings will only grow. I can't imagine ever leaving her, even after only a week of knowing her. Yet alone dating her.

"River," Cove angelic voice broke me away from my thoughts. I didn't even notice her getting up and putting her plate in the sink. I smiled at her and patted my lap.

She slowly walked over to me and climbed onto my lap, instantly burying her head in my chest. I smiled and put my head on top of hers, surrounding myself with the scent of her strawberry shampoo.

We sat in silence while I lightly traced random shapes on her back and she cuddled up against me. After a moment. I lightly started running my fingers through her hair and she sighed in content.

I placed a soft kiss on her head and stood up with her still in my arms. She tried to wiggle out of my grip, but I simply held her tighter against me.

I walked her up the stairs, still completely in silence and lightly set her on her bed. She looked up at me with her beautiful doe eyes full of innocence, and I can't help but smile.

"You should get dressed, baby," I suggested softly. She nodded her head and started to stand up, but paused midair with her eyebrows furrowed.

"What about you?" She asked. Oh, I didn't think about that.

"Don't worry about me baby, I'll figure it out," I smiled. She nodded her head once again and walked to her dresser. She searched through her drawers and pulled out a basic yellow shirt with denim shorts.

"I'll be right back," she whispered as she disappeared in her bathroom.

I sighed and sat down on her bed. Just then, my phone dinged and I picked it up to see a message from Andrew.

Hey bro, sorry to bother you but one of the moles wants to talk to you. He refuses to talk to anyone else, any chance you can swing by today? Sooner rather then later would be great.

I read the message and let out a groan. Now I have to leave Cove. Plus, If this takes a long time I won't be able to see her again until Sunday since I have that meeting on Saturday. The sound of a door opening interrupted my thoughts and I looked up to see Cove looking at me curiously.

"Are you okay River?" She asked softly. I sighed and patted the spot next to me. She sat down and looked at me with a questioning look on her eyes.

"I have to go, I'll drop you off a school first though," I said. Her eyes filled with sadness and her bottom lip jutted out. "But we have school," she frowned.

"I'm sorry baby," I whispered and lifted her into my lap. She wrapped her arms around my neck and hugged me tightly, like I would disappear any second now.

"Who's going to make me feel better?" She sadly asked, referring to her cuts.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," I whispered and buried my head in her neck. I left a few soft kisses before pulling back and looking into her eyes.

"I don't want you to leave," she whimpered. I sighed and rubbed her back soothingly. "I'm so sorry baby," I whispered and lifted her off of my lap with a kiss to her forehead.

"Now let's get you to school."

🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊

We got to school and I parked in the front. "Cove, c'mon it's time to go," I said when she didn't make any effort to leave. She shook her head and climbed over the console, into my lap.

She clung to my shirt and starting mumbling about how she doesn't want me to go and how I shouldn't leave her by herself. I sighed and rubbed her back.

"How about I get you ice cream the next time we see each other?" I suggested. She shook her head and buried herself deeper into my embrace.

Not even the promise of ice cream is getting her to let me go, she really must not want me to leave.

I took a deep breath and kissed her cheek goodbye, then placed her on the ground and speed away before I could change my mind.

My baby is already so clingy, it's adorable.
