She then shot her mental power into the crystal. She seemed stunned.
After a long while, she retracted her mental power from the crystal and turned to Alex with an odd
expression. âLook at it.â
âWhatâs in it?â
âThis is⦠For you.â
âWhat?â Alex was shocked.
Dorothy replied, âItâs Dadâs.â
Suddenly, Alex felt his chest tighten. He felt as if he was suffocating. With trembling hands, he took the
crystal and slowly inserted his mental power into it. At that moment, he felt his mental power linking
with someone else.
Within the mental world of the crystal, he saw his father, William Rockefeller.
âOh, my son, Alex. I donât know if youâd ever find this crystal or hear this, but if you can, that means
youâre all grown now!â
âMaybe youâve figured out whatâs happened here.â
âIf you found the teleportation circle yourself, Iâd be very proud of you. You didnât disappoint me! Youâre
my good son after all!â
âYour motherâs sick, so take care of her for the time being. Iâll be back! We will reunite when that time
comes, so donât come looking for me! This is a responsibility I have to bear both as husband and
father.â
William didnât leave a long message. That was all he said.
William had probably left this message before going into the portal. He was most likely worried that
something might happen to him on the other side of the portal. He didnât have full confidence in
finishing his task.
At that very moment, Alex had mixed feelings brewing up within him.
âIt really is dad. Heâs been teleported to the other side.â
However, Alex had no idea what was on the other side, not even knowing where it would lead. Hence,
he couldnât help but worry about him. Moreover, William didnât mention what business he had over
there, but Alex figured it was related to his motherâs sickness.
âDarlingâ¦â Dorothy called out to him.
Alex pulled his mind out of the crystal. âIâm alright!â
Dorothy hugged him gently. âThis is good news, isnât it? This means dad is still alive! He went into this
portal, and if he could come here alone, then thatâs enough to prove heâs very powerful! Iâm sure heâll
be fine.â
Alex nodded. âIâll think of a way to fix this. I have to look for him as soon as I can.â
âMhm! Iâll go with you!â chirped Dorothy.
The two hugged each other tightly and placed their lips on each other. A few minutes later, they parted
lips and left the stone
room, tracing back their footsteps.
At the same time, the people outside were worried sick. If nobody had convinced her to stop, Waltz had
initially thought of hopping into the pond to look for them as well.
When she noticed the two coming out of the pool, Waltz let out a sigh of relief. âWhy were you in there
for such a long time? I was so worried about you!â
Alex smiled. âI took a bit of time to look for those corpses. Look, I even found a fish egg.â
âWhat is that?â
âA Hell Fish egg! And itâs still alive!â Alex exclaimed, slipping the egg into his backpack.
âWhat do we do now?â Susan asked. âWeâve tried walking around the pond, but there arenât any other
passages. Weâre trapped again.â
Alex waved his hand dismissively. âDonât worry. I already found a way out. Follow me!â
