Colton Lawrence actually bowed to that person. However, in the next second, he looked as his heâd
been squashed by a thousand-ton steamroller.
His entire body turned into a pulp of flesh.
âYou⦠Colton Lawrence, youâre outrageous!â someone yelled, also an American government official.
However, after being glared at by Colton, he didnât dare to step forward. He backed away, cowering.
Colton started laughing loudly. He looked around at everyone in the room. Suddenly, he swept his
hand, lifting the table in the center of the meeting room. A deafening boom could be heard as the table
was flung out the window.
This was the thirty sixth floor. How much force did such a large table contain when it hit the ground?
It behaved practically like a bomb.
Soon, the crunching metal of a car getting crushed could be heard. Countless cars had their alarms
blaring too, thanks to the remnants of the energy waves, creating a mighty cacophony in the city in the
middle of the night.
âColton, what is the meaning of this?!â Jonathan Ferris, the Right-wing Lieutenant, asked.
Colton laughed. âArenât we selecting the Flying Eaglesâ commander? What I mean is, the stronger
person will become the commander! Whatâs the matter? Are you a coward, Jonathan Ferris? You can
choose not to fight. Just back out directly. Nobody is stopping you.â
Being at the same rank as Colton, Jonathan was also an expert in his own right.
Being provoked in such a manner at the meeting, wouldnât he be too humiliated to lift his head after this
if he didnât respond at all? If the Right-wing troops found out their leader was behaving like a coward in
front of the Left-wing Lieutenant, Jonathan could forget about becoming their leader.
Instantly provoked, Jonathan pointed his finger at Coltonâs nose while yelling, âColton, you jerk. Whoâs
a coward, eh? Youâre the coward!â
Colton sneered and took a few steps to the center of the room. âGreat! You said it. I can defeat you with
a single move, Jonathan. Do you believe that?â
âThatâs bullsh*t! â Jonathan retorted behaved.
âSince you donât believe it, why donât we make a bet? If you canât withstand a single attack of mine,
youâll become a follower of mine from now. If you donât stick to your words, youâll be punished by the
heavens!â exclaimed Colton.
âWhat?â
For people like them with this level of cultivation, swearing an oath was something to be avoided. That
was because oaths were related to their future in the Void Shattering stage of cultivation.
If they didnât keep to an oath, they would very likely be engulfed by the demon in their hearts. In less
severe cases, they might be badly injured. In more austere cases, they might just fail the tribulation and
end up dead.
âDonât say yes to him, Jonathan. Heâs just trying to trigger you,â said Gael Dorsey.
âIs this how you really become a coward, Jonathan? In that case, Iâll take an oath myself. If I canât
defeat you with a single attack, Iâll be your follower. If I canât keep to the oath, Iâll be struck by lightning,â
Colton proclaimed loudly.
Jonathan looked at Colton in shock, never expecting him to take such an oath.
Meanwhile, at least a few dozen people around Jonathan were all looking at him.
Could he back away?
âD*mn it! Iâm not afraid,â Jonathan thought. âFine. Iâll make a bet with you!â he said.
In the next second, the battle began. Colton opened his eyes wide. A bloody red light flashed in his
eyes, and he threw a punch at Jonathan!
