Seeing the woman he liked kiss some other man out of her own free will upset Pete a great deal. He
felt as if his lungs were about to explode.
Cheryl was the woman he was into. He was so sure that he could get the girl as well.
âHow could she kiss another man? Isnât that cheating? I wonât allow this! I simply wonât!â
âCheryl Coney!â he bellowed coldly.
However, quite some time had passed since the two saw each other. Now that they did, they couldnât
help themselves. They wished they could kiss for eternity, till the end of time.
They didnât care about mere passersby like Pete. If anything, they wished that he could just screw off.
Hence, Cheryl ignored him completely and continued kissing Alex as if no one was around.
Peteâs expressions twisted. He felt his face burning up as if he had just been slapped several times. He
knew that he couldnât do anything to Cheryl since she was the dean of this hospital. She still, however,
held a certain degree of social status. Moreover, since he was after her heart, he had to be nice to her.
Thus, he figured that he could defeat Alex with ease. He grabbed him by the sleeve and pulled him
away forcefully. âAre you done yet?â
Despite his efforts, he couldnât seem to force Alex out of the way.
Alex turned towards Pete. âYouâre still here? Canât you get lost?â
âWhat? How dare you talk to me like that, you bastard?â
Pete exploded with fury in an instant, his entire skull looking like it would be blown off by pure rage. âDo
you know who I am? Do you know that I can make your life hell with a single word? I can wreak doom
and misfortune to your entire family!â
Alexâs eyes turned cold. âThe last time someone said such things to me, they ended up as buckets of
flesh. Would you like to be the next one? Tell me, who are you?â
Pete huffed coldly. âWho the f*ck are you trying to scare? Just look at your clothes. Youâre probably just
a security guard, arenât you? Do you even earn 3000 a month? Please tell him who I am, Cheryl!â
Cheryl squinted and took a glance at Pete before turning to Alex. âOh, heâs just a ridiculous politician. I
donât even know how he earned the position as chief of the CDC. He doesnât know a thing! Itâs like he
canât think straight after seeing a woman, and heâs always pestering and annoying me!â

Never in Peteâs worst nightmare would he have thought that Cheryl would describe him with such
insult. His face turned red from embarrassment, blowing up from rage. âCheryl Coney, do you know
what happens to you after you say such things?â
Cheryl grabbed Alexâs hand and smiled. âI donât care. My man will help me through anything you throw
at me.â
Pete was so envious and mad that he almost breathed fire. He growled in a scornful tone, âHey punk. If
you know whatâs best for you, leave Cheryl now! Iâve had my eyes on her, so it doesnât matter if youâre
her boyfriend, just break up and get out!â
âAnd what if I say no?â
Alexâs gaze was extremely frosty. With his current powers, he really didnât want to argue with normal
people. It was like trying to fight an ant. It just didnât seem right.
However, if this little ant just couldnât take a hint and tested his boundaries, he wouldnât mind crushing it
with one stomp.
Pete didnât seem to sense any danger, cockily replying, âNo? Then youâd just make Cherylâs life
miserable. Because of you, she would lose her position as the dean of this hospital. Or worse, her
doctorâs license would be revoked⦠As long as I want to, I could even accuse her of leaking top secret
information about the country so that she could never get back up on her feet.â
Cheryl was so mad her face turned green.
Alex squeezed her fingers gently and said, âThen, do you know that I can kill you as long as I want to?â
âWell, arenât you just a stubborn f*cking mule?â Pete yelled.
Just then, two of Peteâs subordinates came looking for him. They saw the three arguing in the middle of
the hallway.
âChief! What happened here?â they asked.
Pete immediately replied. âYou two came just in time. I suspect that this man is the cause of the recent
poisoning cases! He is also suspected of assaulting all those patients! Not only that, he just threatened
to kill me! Arrest him now!â
