Jack Trent was in his early thirties. He wasnât considered old at all.
When Emma Assex thought of this, she immediately felt jealous. She wished she could kick Dorothy
out of the way and throw herself into Jackâs arms.
But little did they know, Jack was only doing all of this to please Alex Rockefeller.
Yesterday, Jack went to the hospital for a check- up and found out there indeed was something wrong
with his kidney. Apart from traces of kidney stones being removed, the doctor discovered a slight
infection in the area. That proved Jackâs kidney stone problem was quite serious. It had gotten to the
point where hematuria was a concern. However, since his kidney stones had been thoroughly
removed, the aftermaths were much easier to deal with.
Jack no longer had reason to doubt Alexâs medical skills.
âMr. Rockefeller, can I have a moment with you?â Jack smiled as he asked Alex.
Alex nodded.
Alex and Jack walked slightly further away as members of the Assex family watched them with an odd
expression on their faces,
âMr. Rockefeller, hereâs the thing. I have a small request,â Jack said.
âDo tell,â Alex said.
âErm⦠I was wondering if youâve done much research on infertility, Mr. Rockefeller?â Jack asked.
Alex smiled a little as he looked Jack up and down. âMr. Trent, you wonât have to worry. Youâre perfectly
normal in that regard.â
âNo, itâs not me. Itâs my wife. She was found to be infertile two years ago. Itâs been bothering us for a
while now. Weâve also gone to Dr. Cheryl before, but it couldnât be fixed. Thatâs whyâ¦â Jack said while
he shook his head.
âOkay. Iâll have a look whenever your wife is available.â Alex smiled and nodded.
âThank you so much, Mr. Rockefeller. To be honest, my wife even wanted to get a divorce because of
this. She wanted me to remarry, but I really love her. If Mr. Rockefeller can help my wife get pregnant,
Iâll be willing to pay you with all that I have,â Jack said joyously.
Alex agreed to drop by Jackâs place in the evening.
Jack left after they ended their conversation.
When Alex returned, he discovered that the three members of the Assex family had disappeared as
well.
Dorothy Assex was still dealing with the client who came to pick up the products. However, after seeing
Jack speaking up for Dorothy personally, the client didnât have the guts to complain anymore. On top of
that, Dorothy had also given the client additional compensation. The issue had been perfectly resolved.
Alex and Dorothy returned to the general managerâs office.
Dorothy glanced at Alex briefly. âMr. Trent from Thousand Leaves was actually willing to offer us such a
huge contract. Looks like you are worth quite a lot to him! Iâm sure your secret lover must have put in a
lot of effort to help you, didnât she?â
âMy secret lover? Who are you talking about?â Alex was stunned.
âHmph. You know the answer. Who else could it be if not that woman with the surname Coney? Or do
you plan to tell me that the Yowell family is offering me this permit because of you?â Dorothy snorted.
âBut that is the truth of what really happened.â Alex rubbed his nose.
âDo you think I would believe something like that? Well, she ended up helping me this time. Give her a
call. Tell her I want to treat her to a meal as my way of thanking her in person,â Dorothy said while she
pinched Alexâs ear.
âWhat?!â Alex was shocked by what he heard.
