âI donât know, the bridge had been cut in half when I got there. There was also a large barrier blocking
my way. If my assumptions are correct, that barrier was a formation boundary placed by ancient,
powerful beings⦠To protect this world.â
âThis barrier was very strong, even stronger than the one in the ancient boundary. Thatâs why the
Olympus Tribe got blocked out.â
Daya paused for a moment.
âThe barrier was blurry, but I managed to see the people inside when I stood on the bridge,â she went
on.
âWhat?â
âSomeoneâs beyond that barrier?â
âAre they gods?â
Even Alexâs face was plastered with curiosity.
Daya shook her head. âNope, theyâre demi-demons.â
Everyone fell silent.
Daya smiled faintly. âActually, the so-called Divine Envoys are demi-demons too! Their true forms were
that of demon beasts, and they arenât from the true Olympus Tribe. Iâm guessing that these beasts
were domesticated by said tribe, so they currently serve them!â
âMore importantly, it would be quite difficult for these demi-demons to cross the barrier. Even if they did,
theyâd have to make big sacrifices. Higher-ranked demi-demons would be in more danger if they tried
crossing worlds.â
âHow are you sure about that?â Alex asked
Daya replied, âWhen I got up there, the demons in that barrier wanted to attack me. Iâm assuming that
they didnât want me telling anyone about this secret, and they wanted to shut me up by killing me.â
âBut then⦠When five of those demons rushed over, four of them died from a lightning strike, and
another was so badly injured that it returned to its original form and I ate it.â
âUhmâ¦â
Everyone looked at the peacock meat in their hands, thinking it was only reasonable to do so. Demon
meat was just too nutritious. Some of them were unable to control their powers from ascending after
eating this peacock meat.
Alex turned to Daya. âIâm not sure if the barrierâs effects would wear off with time, so Iâd like to take a
good look at it.â
Daya nodded. âAlright, Iâll go with you tomorrow then!â
It was already 2 am at the time. Regular folk like Hailey were starting to feel sleepy, yawning
repeatedly. Hence, Alex suggested ending this meeting, for now, so everyone could go home and rest.
The others who lived far away were invited to stay at the manor as well.
Just as they were about to leave, another incident occurred. The Millers and Hendersons had arrived.
As extremely wealthy ancient families, they never saw Alex as an equal from the start. Not feeling the
need to sneak in, they walked right in as if they owned the place.
âThe Millers and Hendersons are here to pay a visit! Mr. Rockefeller, I know itâs late, but if you would
please, come out here and have a talk with us!â
The voice was as loud as thunder, causing a slight earthquake around the Rockefeller manor.
Everyone inside was shocked.
Soraya whispered, âThe Millers and Hendersons? Are they the allies of the Hancocks?â
Geronimo replied, âIâm afraid theyâre the only ones whoâd do this.â
Alex raised an eyebrow.
He was waiting for the Divine Envoy of the Olympian Army, yet the Millers and Hendersons came by
first. From what Shirley told him, these two families were important factors to enter the Dairaionji
Temple as well. He couldnât proceed without both of them.
However, he didnât expect them to appear right now before he could even go looking for them.
Before Alex could speak, Geronimo spoke up. âIf you know how late it is, wouldnât you know that itâs
disturbing our rest? Come again tomorrow if you have something to say!â
An old womanâs voice came from outside. âIâm rather old, and itâs not easy for me to travel this much.
Please just come out here, Mr. Rockefeller, or weâd have no choice but to force our way in.â
