Shirley stared at the black tribulation cloud above her head. She felt as if the lightning was about to
strike at any second. Her scalp felt numb. Her heart was pounding out of her chest at this point.
However, these were all normal reactions.
Since the soul was made out of Yin energy, ghosts would generally give out a chilling aura as well.
Such entities were terrified of lightning. Typically, both flesh and bones would be protecting the soul,
completely covering it up. It was completely different this time. Shirleyâs soul would have to endure the
strike of several lightning bolts. No one would be able to handle that.
Alex handed her the helmet Alyssa used. âWear this. It highly protects and enhances soul power.
Besides, just tie these clothes to your body!â
âDonât worry. Itâs just lightning. Think about it. Youâre now crossing the Immortalization tribulation. If you
succeed, youâd be Immortal. I donât even get the chance to, no matter how much I want it. You should
be proud of yourself. Youâre way ahead of us.â
Shirley replied, âI wanted to be under you.â
Alex froze. âHancock, donât just crack a lewd joke out of nowhere. Youâre going to be a bad influence on
my pure self.â
Shirley buffed, but she wasnât in the mood for small talks. âYouâre going to have to cross a tribulation
here soon too. I hope youâre still going to be just as cheerful as you are now. Itâs easier said than done,
you know.â
Alex replied, âIf something does go wrong, Iâll help you.â
âThank you, if you do help, Iâll be dying quicker⦠If l do die, you⦠Ah, whatever. If youâre going to
cross a lightning tribulation here, too, you probably wonât be able to get out of here either. And you
wonât be able to present my will to everyone.â
âBut I do have a way to help youâ¦â
Shirley didnât seem to believe Alexâs words.
This was within expectations. Only super emperors had helped people cross tribulations, after all. To
her, Alex sounded like he was merely bluffing.
After wearing the helmet and suit, she signaled Alex to go further away.
Just then, the lightning struck right down upon her.
Boom!
The first lightning strike was enough to send her helmet flying off. Her battle suit was torn into pieces as
well.
Shirley herself was now vomiting blood⦠The blood wasnât actual human blood. It was black soul
blood. Her entire demeanor had shriveled, her soul power had been reduced to half.
âThereâs no way I can succeed in crossing this Immortal lightning tribulation.â
Shirley found this situation quite hopeless. Before the second lightning struck down, she turned to Alex
and waved to him. She seemed to be bidding her goodbyes.
Alex took a glance at the tribulation cloud above, then sighed and rushed up to it.
Shirley was stunned after seeing this. âAre you insane? Arenât you just digging your own grave going
head-on like that? Run, you still have time!â
Alex said, âRemember something, you owe me two lives.â
Shirley was speechless. Her mind was going to explode at this point. âIs this man crazy? How is he still
bluffing now? Is he addicted to bluffing or something?â
âMore importantly, Iâm currently crossing a tribulation, for godâs sake! And he hasnât crossed this
Immortal tribulation either! Rushing over is just wishing for death!â
âHow dumb can you be? Iâm not even your woman. I donât need you to experience life and death with
me, so get lost!â Shirley screamed.
She then noticed the tribulation cloud changing rapidly. It was now darker than before, the pressuring
aura seemed to have become thicker as well. This indicated that the lightning tribulation had included
Alex as well. He couldnât run even if he wanted to now.
âYou⦠Idiot..!â
Shirley no longer had any strength even to diss him, yet she heard Alex say, âI hope it doesnât run away
this time.â
âWhat?â
She didnât understand what Alex meant by that. However, she realized that Alex had stomped the
ground so hard that he left a pit under his feet, leaping straight up to the middle of the tribulation cloud.
âI⦠What the f*ck?!â Shirley couldnât help but curse.
âDoes he have issues? The lightning is striking down, yet youâre voluntarily taking it head-on?â
