A pink halo formed around Shirleyâs body. It was filled with faint talismans. Those were the signs of a
successful Immortalization, the Immortal Wheel of Life.
With this, Shirley finally snapped back to reality, accepting that she had succeeded in Immortalization,
becoming the first Immortal within the new generation of America.
âI⦠Really am Immortal now! I actually succeeded!â
She looked at Alex, seemingly excited.
Alex nodded, grabbing the broken helmet and clothes. He then shook his head pitifully and said, âToo
bad about these two though. Theyâre actually pretty good tools.â
However, he quickly turned back and approached Shirley, tugging on her hot pants lightly. âI really
didnât expect this little thing to be the strongest treasure. Itâs completely fine even after taking a bolt of
lightning. Iâll bet that some powerful woman wore this.
And it should be pretty ancient, with a strong scent to it too.â
Shirley was just about to thank Alex, yet she became agitated when hearing him say that.
âAncient? Strong scent?â
She couldnât take this anymore. âAlex, you can act decently, yet how are you so annoying sometimes? I
wish I could bite you to release my anger.â
Alex let out a cough. âI guess thatâs just what Iâm best at. I make women hate me but love me at the
same time.â
After doing some small talk, the two packed their things and left immediately.
Tribulations did, in fact, cause a considerable commotion, so they were worried they might attract
unwanted attention. Not only did bone demons roam around this area, they even had to prevent
cultivators from the outside.
The two walked around the forest for a while and made sure that no one was following them, then
returned to the cave.
More importantly, they had put in a lot of effort to set up a high-class formation around the cave. Not
only could it hide their Chi, but it could also assist in the defense. With this, it could protect the people
inside with maximum security.
After entering the cave, they didnât expect to see Pigsy in there already. It had run back on its own.
Seeing Alex and Shirley safe, Pigsy felt slightly awkward. âAlex, uhm⦠I didnât run away⦠I came back
to look for help⦠What about that outsider?â
In the cave, Daya, Charming, and Ynes were all there. The only one missing was the Mystic Maiden.
They then found out that the Mystic Maiden had gone looking for them, but she wasnât back yet.
âShe went out alone?â Alex couldnât help but worry, as the Mystic Maiden wasnât all that strong.
Suddenly, the Mystic Maiden walked into the cave herself. âAre you worried about me? I already
noticed you two on my way backâ
She then turned to Shirley. âSo you succeeded in Immortalization. Good, good!â
Initially, no one noticed the changes in Shirley. Now that the Mystic Maiden mentioned it, they all
jumped slightly and looked at her.
Ynes was the most shocked out of them, mainly because she lived on the other side of this big world.
In her area, one would have to go through nine realms of Imminent Immortal. For now, she was in the
seventh realm, so she still needed more training and time to become Immortal.
Yet now, Shirley didnât have to experience any of that and achieved Immortalization after her tribulation
crossing.
Noticing Ynesâ confusion, the Mystic Maiden explained this all in simple termsâ¦
The nine realms of Imminent Immortal was a hidden stage after Tribulation Crossing. It wasnât a bad
thing to experience the nine realms after Tribulation Crossing. On the contrary, it was better since it
gave Immortals a more solid foundation.
Shirley might have succeeded in achieving Immortalization, but her Immortal Wheel of Life was weak. It
was there, but that was about it. It would require a lot of time to build the foundation. If one were to go
through nine realms of Imminent Immortal before Immortalization, they wouldnât have to experience this
weakened state.
When they continued asking about Shirleyâs Tribulation Crossing, Alex took Alyssaâs corpse out of the
storage ring and tossed it to the ground.
Pigsy rushed over, staring at the corpse skeleton with yellow bone patterns. âIt looks like they really
were yellow bone patterns. Alex, I really wasnât running back then, you⦠Wonât think Iâm an unloyal
friend, right?â
Alex smiled. âWhy would I?â
Pigsy laughed. âYeah, yeah! Weâre brothers! I knew youâd understand.â
