It would seem that the attack had failed. Alex realized he had underestimated the woman dressed in
black.
She could actually recover from Medusaâs freezing gaze in such a short amount of time?
In the next second, there was a loud explosion.
Mystic Maiden had fired Arashâs bow, the arrow, hitting straight in the womanâs chest and exploding. As
the debris cleared, they could see that the womanâs black blouse had been torn. A bowl-size hole
appeared in her chest, showing the singed, tar-black flesh.
Her chest had been torn open by Mystic Maidenâs arrow, and it dripped with dark green liquid.
It was entirely out of their expectations.
âIs she still human?â
âSuch a chilling and evil aura!â Mystic Maiden said.
âIs this thing still human?â Luneth couldnât stand it.
Turning into a skeleton upon arrival of the Underworld had already given her the chills. Still, such
hideousness right in front of her eyes went way beyond her level of acceptance. Sheâd never seen
anything so disgusting in her life.
âIf I were to turn into such a state, Iâd rather die.â
âThen die!â The woman was furious and howled loudly.
She waved her hand aggressively and delivered a deadly hit that sent Alex and the others flying.
Luneth and Immortal Bird shouted in pain. They somersaulted several times in the air and landed in the
sea. The attack almost wiped out their souls.
Alex and Mystic Maiden didnât fare any better either. They were curled up in a ball, their armors
breaking, as their ribs clattered against one another.
âArgh, your intercostal space is too small, Iâm stuck!â
âHowâs that my fault? Why are your ribs so thick?â
âWhat should we do? I canât get it out!â
âUse some force, d*mn it!â
âIâm scared to break your bones!â
ââ¦â
Looking at the comical situation, the American lady sighed. âYou guys should leave now. You donât
stand a chance against her. Iâm sorry for bringing you trouble.â
Alex complained to himself. âThis isnât just trouble. This is a life-and-death situation. God, youâre so
blind. Canât you see weâre stuck here?â
âThis shield is pretty good!â The woman gestured
A strong power acted upon Alexâs hand, stealing Medusaâs Aegis Shield by force. She then tossed it
around in her hand, even turning Medusa over and staring back at it with her eyes half-opened.
Despite the glare of death, she wasnât one bit afraid, and there was no sign of her being petrified either.
Crank!
Alex separated himself from Mystic Maiden by force. Mystic Maiden broke a rib, but she was strong
and didnât even whimper in pain. She reattached her rib by hand and healed up quickly with bone
patterns.
The woman glanced at them and snickered coldly. âTrialists are really getting weaker by the generation.
I donât even have the desire to eat you.â
With that, she turned over and looked at the tied-up American lady. âYour companion looked tastier. If
you call him over, I donât mind giving you another chance at life.â
The lady shook her head. âDonât even think about it, youâll never find him.â
Alex was confused, unable to understand anything from their conversation, let alone the entire
situation. He asked, âWho are you guys?â
âSheâs the Corpse Kingâs daughter!â
A voice could suddenly he heard. Someone was rushing over from the vast sea, and under his feet was
a golden boat. The person arriving was a young man. He had defined facial features and looked like an
undeniably handsome gentleman.
âOh no, honey, please leave immediately! Sheâll kill you,â the lady shouted in anxiety.
âMandy, you know very well that I wonâ I leave without you!â The manâs words sounded like a
proclamation of love.
