âPray for⦠My salvation?â
The princessâ soul was taken aback. Even though she knew heâd do so, when she truly had to face
death, it still felt like a dream. She was the Corpse Kingâs daughter, the one and only corpse princess!
As a royal, she was one of the tops in her world.
Before this, she stood at the peak of social status and looked down on the other trialists as if they were
a group of clowns. She would sometimes appear just for the sake of teasing them.
This was just how high and mighty she acted here. The trialists were just her toys in the Underworld.
They were moths used as sacrifices. However, the trialists didnât know about this.
Despite this, sheâd have never thought that Xerxes would be part of the trialists. That bastard had such
luck finding her real body, dug her hibernating body out from the coffin, and even are her Spiritual
Corpse Coreâ¦
She could swear that Xerxes didnât know how important the core was to her, let alone its functions. She
knew that she had to take it back. It was simply that the method was a little oddâ¦
Initially, she had total confidence and thought that it was going to be easy. Trialists were mere ants to
her, so she had nothing to be afraid of. She just didnât expect Alex to appear suddenly out of nowhere.
Iâm and that he practiced ancient Buddhism, a natural nemesis of the Underworld Tomb.
Now, she faced death.
âRest in peace!â Alex roared coldly. He raised his palm out towards the princessâ soul.
âGreat Mighty Divine Palm!â
âAh!â
âWait, hold on!â
The princess screamed, obviously in great pain. She didnât want to die.
Naturally, Alex ignored her. Now that heâd found Dorothyâs sealed soul, and with part of Xiennaâs soul
destroyed, he knew it was a rare chance for him to recover Dorothyâs consciousness and bring back his
wife.
âStop fighting!â
âThe sooner it ends, the sooner the pain stops. Thatâll be better for you! â Alex persuaded.
The princess screamed. âI know the greatest secret of this place! If you stop, Iâll tell you.â
Alex asked, âWhat secret?â
The princess growled, âThe secret of the god of the Underworld, and itâs related to you weak trialists. If
you had such a secret, you would be free to roam the whole Underworld.â
âWhat about it? Donât spare me this great secret. Is this not a good deal?â
After hearing this, Alex was indeed interested. No trialist would ignore such a secret. He stopped.
âContinue, Iâm listening.â
The princess wasnât dumb. âYouâre insincere. Once Iâve told you, youâll kill me. Who would I find to
claim my justice then?â
Alex thought about it and nodded. âThatâs true, then what youâre suggesting isâ¦â
âYou have to swear by a spiritual blood oath. Then Iâll tell you everything truthfully.â
Alex frowned. He didnât like the suggestion. Finally, he took a few more glances at her and nodded.
Suddenly, a ray of golden light suddenly shot out from the princessâ soul. The ball of golden fire
abruptly lit up on its own.
The flame had appeared promptly without warning. It looked super eerie, with golden patterns
appearing now and then.
âAh!â
âIt hurts! Itâs so painful!â
âSave me! Save meâ¦â
The princessâ soul was burned. She cried out loud for help, her face full of despair and pain.
The sudden change came too swiftly and abruptly. Alex hadnât expected it. He reached out to save her,
using the Great Icebound Spell of the Ten-Point Forbidden Spells to try and extinguish that eerie ball of
fire.
Sadly, he was too late. The eerie flame burned too quickly.
He could only hear the princess shout her last few words, âItâs⦠The Emperorâ¦â
She seemed to have spoken something else, but unfortunately, her voice grew too soft. Alex couldnât
hear her well as her soul perished.
