The emperor was furious. âYouâre too weak to lock me down!â
Boom!
A white ball of flames was ignited on every strand of hair. The flames then slid down and were directed
towards the iron chains.
The emperor clearly wanted to melt the chains of Persephoneâs Folly Bridge, killing both Alex and
Shelly in the process. However, the current Shelly was obviously stronger than before.
âCome to me, Five Flavored Tea of Forgetfulness!â
Splash!
A large amount of tea fell from the skies, landing on the emperorâs flaming hair, instantly extinguishing
the fireballs. Even his hair was starting to corrode, releasing green smoke as each strand evaporated
into green smokeâ¦
The emperor had fairly strong hair, even the white flames couldnât burn it off. Yet it stood no chance
against the Five Flavoured Tea of Forgetfulness.
Shelly was merely returning the favor, letting the tea corrode his hair.
The emperorâs eyes reddened, but could only cut his newly grown hair out of desperation.
He howled, âWhy do you have the Five Flavored Tea of Forgetfulness? Iâve already killed Old Lady
Meng! Who are you? Why⦠Why do you look so familiar? Have I seen you beforeâ¦â
Shelly was obviously the subject of his questions. She adjusted her hair stick and said, âIf you still have
the Palatialâs memories, youâll probably realize who I am!â
The emperor stared at her for quite some time.
His eyes lit up brighter than the stars as he blurted out.
âYou⦠Are you Rachel?â
Shelly nodded cockily.
Alex was silent, and his eyes darted around the two as confusion filled his mind.
He couldnât help but think. âDonât tell me⦠Was Shelly romantically involved with the Palatial? Dang.
Now thatâs scary.â
The emperor was utterly shocked. âWhy are you here?â
Shelly pointed at Alex. âIâm his guardian. So I go wherever he goes.â
Upon hearing this, the emperor widened his eyes. âYou? You, despite your status, became his
guardian?â
âHuh?â Alex froze. âWhat does that mean?â
âIs Shelly really strong? Youâre just underestimating me, arenât you?â
Shelly looked straight at the emperor. âOh, Little Palatial, have you been studying Buddhism to the
point it fried your brain? Just let it go. If youâre not going to follow Buddhism to its fullest, you will
become a demon. Now that youâve kept your promise, why donât you hand your mission over to
someone more suitable?â
The emperor seemed to be at a loss for a second there. However, his expression became determined
once more, his eyes reddened as well. âSo what if youâre Rachel? Buddha may have been cautious
around you when you were the Starlord of the West, but youâre no longer that person!â
âBesides, even if Buddha showed up now, he wouldnât be able to stop my legacy! My legacy, my
beliefs, would soon be known within all Buddhists in the Siddhartha realm!â
âIf you dare to get in my way, Iâll kill you regardless!â
âRise, Tomb of the Corpse King!â
After the emperor declared war, there was no way of convincing him any further. All they could do was
battle.
At the same time, there was a casket right underneath the largest tombstone within the Underworld
Tomb. It was filled with carvings of a dragon and phoenix. The bronze casket shot out of the ground as
the lid opened in midair. A male corpse of six foot five then jumped out of it, lunging towards the bridge.
âArgh!!!â
With a loud howl, corpse energy exploded in the air. It was the Corpse Princessâ father, the Corpse
King.
They didnât expect him to show up at all.
âKill them!â The emperor ordered.
After receiving orders, the Corpse King immediately took action.
The chains of Persephoneâs Folly Bridge flew out once more. However, the result was rather
disappointing. The bridge didnât seem to like beings like the Corpse King. Hence, the rusted chains
gave up entirely, not doing their job anymore.
âGet lost!â The Corpse King roared, struggling out of all the chains by throwing them off.
A pale white sword appeared in his hands, filled with corpse energy as it swung down towards the two.
