âHoly sh*t!â
The sight of the deathly, utterly corroded white sword crashing down like a waterfall, made Alex scream
in horror. Its pressure was so great that it could probably shake the entire Earth. Alex thought his
skeleton was going to fall apart just from this.
The difference between their cultivation skills was way too noticeable.
Alex had the Ymirâs Divine Bone, Yin-Yang Chi, Yellow Obsidian Chi, the essence of the Five Flavored
Tea of Forgetfulness, and the Ten-Point Forbidden Spell talismans to strengthen his skeleton.
Since he already felt such uneasiness from the attack, then others would have died before the sword
even reached them.
âDodge!â Shelly shouted at Alex, looking extremely concerned and panicked.
Despite this, Alex was much quicker than her, grabbing Shelly by the shoulder as he backed away with
lightning speed.
At the very same time, the Corpse Kingâs sword slammed down harshly onto the stone railings of the
bridge⦠Loud ringing filled the air as a large dent was created in the bloody railing of Persephoneâs
Folly Bridge. Even the stone was chipped off.
Alex turned arotmd, only to be met with that shocking scene.
âYour bridge! Itâs broken!â
Shelly was heartbroken as well; her expressions darkened.
Alex snapped back to reality. âHow could a mere Corpse King break the bridge? Is it that weak? I
always thought that Persephoneâs Folly Bridge was a supreme mystical tool!â
âHmph, just take a good look at it. Are you sure itâs broken?â
âThe railings have broken in half. Is that not considered broken?â
Just as Alex said that he noticed several faces on the bridge, lighting up as thousands of arms reached
out, waving back and forth in a weird way. In just a few moments, the dent was repaired, and the bridge
was magically restored. Even the stone disappeared into thin air.
âThis..?â
Shelly didnât explain but instead said, âThis Corpse Kingâs power had exceeded the five elements. He is
no longer of the three realms either. Thatâs why the bridge doesnât have any effect on him. I donât have
any plan in mind, so⦠This is all you. â
Alexâs expression changed. âI knew you were a scammer.â
Despite this, Shelly remained cocky. âIâm your guardian, not your personal bodyguard. I can guide you,
but you have to do it yourself.â
âGuardian my a*s. Youâre just the tool spirit of a treasureâ¦â
âTool spirit of a treasureâ¦â
âTool spiritâ¦â
Alexâs words echoed in Shellyâs mind, making her extremely infuriated.
However, Alex had to muster up all his courage and stay alert at all times. He had to fight the Corpse
King after all because he was the kingâs current target.
The corrupted Corpse Sword looked as if it were Deathâs Scythe, aiming at his neck.
Clank!
Alex took out Athenaâs Golden Spear, blocking the attack. As the blades clashed against each other,
sparks flew everywhere. Athenaâs Golden Spear let out a painful cry, the blade seemed to have been
dented.
âSh*t!â Alex felt his heart drop. He had to return this divine spear after all.
As a treasure that had broken quite a few divine weapons, it was supposed to be very tough and hard.
Yet now, a mere corroded sword had dented the spear. At the same time, his skeleton was vibrating
vigorously. Along with sheer frustration, he felt as if his bones were going to shatter.
Despite this, the mysterious bone patterns on his skeleton lit up, sending a type of mystic force to his
entire body and increasing his defense.
The energy that the Corpse Sword sent down his body was blocked off with ease.
âChrist Almighty! That scared me to death. I thought I wouldnât be able to take it!â Alex gasped.
If he had a heart, it would have been pounding like crazy now. He wasnât sure if he could actually
survive after all.
Dorothy and the others followed behind, so petrified they were sweating cold bullets.
