With swift movements, Alex and Anna threw the three back into their car, climbing over
the walls of the manor like raccoons.
However, just as they landed on the ground inside, sharp beeping alarm sounds were
heard.
âWhatâs happening? Are these infrared surveillance cameras?â
Both of them were stunned as they looked at each other, puzzled.
Anna nodded. âYeah, I was too careless.â
Alex helplessly said, âI find youâre kind of amateur, could it be that you are a part-timer
in Divine Constabulary?â
Anna fumed and said, âIâm an official member! Isnât that just an alarm? Why would we
need to dismantle it beforehand? Itâs just the same if I barge in openly.â
Her team member earlier had given her the accurate bearings of Pepperâs location.
The two proceeded to rush to the north of the manor while ignoring the alarms.
Just then, a man in black came to meet up with them. He was a member of Divine
Constabulary and a member of Skyâs team as well. He was in charge of gathering
information and scouting the area.
âSheâs in there.â The man pointed toward one of the maidsâ bedrooms but his
expression seemed odd.
Alex could sense an abnormal level of hormones within the man.
Bang!
Anna, the brute woman, immediately kicked the door open.
At the same time, Alex noticed that the man in black quickly retreated into the dark.
After all, he wasnât in the fighting units. Since Anna came and took over the situation, he
had successfully completed his mission and he could leave immediately, as if he had
never come here in the first place.
Screams could be heard from the inside of the room. Alex was quite familiar with this
room, so he stepped forward to turn on the light switch. After switching on the lights, he
saw John in disheveled clothes, whereas their target, Pepper Kimmich, was wearing her
clothes.
âOh Lord, my eyes!â Alex froze for a while and then smiled. âOh, itâs Secretary Kimmich.
Are you still working this late at night? A secretaryâs job must be pretty hard!â
Only now did Alex realize the reason that guy earlier had such an odd expression.
âAlex Rockefeller, itâs you. Why are you here? Who let you in?â John was enraged. After
all, no one would be in a good mood after being exposed at a time like this, especially
when he saw Alex whom he hated so much.
Pepper was shocked as well. She was more terrified than John. That was because she,
who tried to assassinate Alex on the hillside just a while ago, learned about Black
Skeletonâs death. However, she believed that her identity had not been exposed. After
all, she had been hiding her identity for years safe and sound.
Hence, she knew that she had to keep herself calm and act normally in moments like
these. This was why she still came over to the manor after receiving orders from John.
Alex said calmly, âThis is my manor, would it be a problem if I come here and walk
around? Thereâs still one month to go till itâs returned to its rightful owner. So, donât you
dare destroy anything⦠Such sneaky activities, you should avoid doing them too!â
Pepper, who looked shy and embarrassed, was on the verge of tears. She really did
look like a weak secretary, who was forced to obey her bossâs irrational orders. She
might as well get an Oscar with such acting skills.
Anna didnât want to dawdle any longer, she wanted to reveal her identity and arrest
Pepper. Suddenly, a group of people rushed over, they were the security guards and the
members of Rockefellers. They had come over to check out what the nuisance was all
about.
Even Bill came while being pushed over by one of the caretakers.
âAh!â
âHubby, why are you here? Arenât you working abroad? You⦠Ah! You two actuallyâ¦â
Olivia was deeply shocked as soon as she saw John and Pepper in such states. She
only regained her composure after a while. In the next second, she madly rushed up to
Pepper and attacked her, scratching her face and pulling her hair.
In order to hide her identity, Pepper didnât even retaliate despite possessing a cultivation
base of Intermediate-Royal rank. She just dodged a few times, letting her face get
scratched till several bloody wounds surfaced.
John pitied Pepper, hence he pushed Olivia hard, causing her to fall to the ground.
Olivia was really livid by his actions.
Pepper sobbed uncontrollably. She hurriedly lowered her head and said âsorryâ before
trying to leave the room while covering her face. Everything unfolded just as she
planned, as if all of this was natural and flawless.
However, at this moment, Anna blocked Pepperâs way and said calmly, âYou canât
escape now.â
