Josef stared at the woman in the painting, unable to believe his eyes. This was because he was very
familiar with the womanâ s appearance in the painting, especially during this recent period. Steven was
familiar with her various expressions and demeanor: abashed, excited, tired, lazy, and even more
private state.

Steven was familiar with every inch of the womanâs skin. The woman in the painting was none other
than Ynes, the former saintly maiden of Yorkshire Palace on whose body he had recently used
countless vital energy pills!
Steven

âYnes had an affair with Zechariah?â
âNot⦠Very likely, isnât it?â
Josef heard Ynes say she was adopted by the master since childhood, and has lived in the Yorkshire
Palace as long as she could remember. How could she possibly be a thief?
Josef
Alex
The woman in the painting, on the other hand, was eerily lifelike. She was almost exactly the same as
Ynes.
âCould the person in the painting have anything to do with Ynes?â
Josef was intrigued by this current illusion when he thought about it this way, if this illusion was truly a
replica of a certain experience that had truly existed, then he should be able to figure out the true
identity of this female thief in the paintingâ¦
Josef
Alex
In fact, Ynes was still very concerned about her own life. She was curious as to why she had been
abandoned as a child.
Were her parents having such a hard time, or did they dislike her?
If it was the former, she was curious about what happened back then!
Returning to oneâs roots was a fundamental thought everyone would have, and Ynes had similar
thoughts⦠Josef had an epiphany, the woman in the painting shouldnât be a silent and ordinary person
if she was to be recorded by the Sky Stairs and used as the first stepâs test topic.
Josef
Alex
âDoes it have an immortal cultivator?â
âIt canât be Ynesâs daughter, can it? â
After all, if someone so similar wasnât a twin, only a mother and daughter could have such magical
kinship.
âWell⦠I must find this golden phoenix scorpionâs egg for Ynesâs sake!â Josef muttered to himself.
Josef
Alex
The problem was that the golden phoenix scorpion was a demonic beast. It was usually level six, but
some of higher and lower levels also existed. If Josef were here, he could destroy hundreds in minutes.
But the situation now was, he was a defenseless scholar. By the looks of his frail little body, even the
weakest of golden phoenix scorpions could kill him, not to mention the particularly vicious spawns!

Steven looked at the sun, then at the endless desert, and then at the stone the size of a steamed bun
in his hand. The biggest crisis at the moment appeared to be how to survive in this desert, himself.

Yukon, in front of the Sky Stairs.
Lorelei and others were stunned too, having never heard of anyone who could use brute force to open
the boundary of the Sky Stairs. They once used their fifteen seeds to assist, Eustace himself included,
to combine and form a very powerful battle force, they wan ted to use brute force to open the boundary
of the heavenly staircase.
This was because only the Sky Stairs could reach Yukonâs highest mountain peak above the bejeweled
jade palace.
Even with the help of powerful artifacts and the combined power of sixteen people, the boundary could
not be broken. However, the boundary was easily breached by a beam of light shooting out of Josefâs
body.
Josef
Alex
So, what was it?
Jade, Dorothy, and others were worried about Josef. Steven suddenly stepped into the first step, and
as if his entire body had been paused, he was frozen in place, immobile. His posture was very odd.
Steven had the appearance of rushing upward, which was a little comical, but he was thinking fearfully.

âWhatâs the matter with him? What exactly is going on?â Jade asked Lorelei.
Lorelei focused her attention on the Sky Stairsâ boundary, which had been opened by Mozart, and said,
âDo not be concerned, this is normal. I have not had time to carefully explain the steps of the Sky
Stairs. Each level is a test. This test is a bit strange, though. It is experiencing a real person who once
existed, his dilemma. As long as you pass through that dilemma, there will be unexpected surprises,
even if you successfully break through the barrier. While entering the second level, there will be an
unexpected surprise.â
Mozart,
Alex,
The crowd was taken aback by the presence of such a test.
Surprisingly unexpected surprises, which were somewhat expected?
Gilbert asked, âIf the test is not passed, will there be a punishment?â
