âYep!â
âThatâs great! Charles would be delighted to hear this!â
In just a few moments, they finished the tour. Although City Salon was luxurious, Waltz was not just any
woman. Since she grew up in luxury, she lost
interest fairly quickly. She asked Alex, âBrother, are you done with work here? If you are, letâs go. We
just need to show up. More
importantly, we need you to sign the contract to transfer shares.â
Alex found out that Waltz had transferred Jerry and Fabioâs shares to him from Frankâs account. She
didnât do
anything to Lexâs shares, mainly because Clay wasnât back yet. They decided to wait until heâs back to
discuss
how itâll be distributed. âGive me half an hour!â The four then went into the CEOâs office. Alex read
through Sharpayâs proposal, which she had put a lot of effort in. Poor Sharpay had dolled up just to
meet Alex. She had specifically picked out her clothes and bought them
with a large sum of money.
She originally thought that this was a chance for her to be alone with Alex. She even thought about
how she
would seduce Alex. In the end, their meetup became a four person meeting. She was so frustrated that
she was
going to explode.
Waltz sat silently on the sofa with her eyes closed. Watching her, Sharpay dropped the idea of
seducing Alex
completely.
She was worried that this would become her last day on earth if she were to reveal any of her
thoughts. Twenty minutes later, Alex was done reading the proposal. He nodded and said, âVery good,
your proposal is
very detailed. Iâll discuss with my mother and give you an answer in a week.â Sharpay was overjoyed.
âAlright, Mr. Rockefeller.â Alex said, âYou can go back to work now.â Sharpay didnât hesitate and walked
out of the office, closing the door behind her.
After some small talk with Hailey, Alex and Waltz headed to Thousand Miles Conglomerate. As for
lunch, Hailey and Alex had to reschedule. ***
Claire had called a cab. She was heading home, still filled with hatred and regret. On the way home,
she couldnât stop thinking, âHow would my life be if Alex was still my son-in-law?â
In the end, she just felt her heart sinking lower and lower.
Her regret slowly grew as the seconds passed. She
looked as if she wanted to pull out all of her hair. She started slapping herself harshly in the backseat,
which
ended up frightening the driver. She had stopped believing in love ever since Henry betrayed her,
hence all she believed in was money. Money
was now the most important thing to her. She knew that money could bring her happiness both
materialistically and mentally.
âIf Alex was still my son-in-law, he would have to give us at least a few hundred millions with how
wealthy
he is now⦠I would be able to buy apparel from luxurious brands, I could travel the world, I could even
buy
a cruise! I wouldâve been able to boast about this on social media too! Thatâs the dream life!â However,
all thatâs left for her were tears of regret.
When she got back home, she noticed both Dorothy and Beatrice gardening in their front yard. Their
hands
were all dirty and they didnât look rich at all. They looked like country maids. She was even more
frustrated at this point. She sat on the ground and cried hysterically.
The two sisters were shocked as they rushed over and consoled her. Claire wiped her tears. âItâs
because of Rockefeller! Oh, Dorothy, please tell me, do you think you two could
get back together?â The two sisters were extremely surprised.
