Chapter 324: Chapter 311: Housing for the Employees

“Alright, I’m going to show you where you will be living now, so please follow me. Lotte-chan, just wait a little longer for the delicious food.”

“I guess it can’t be helped,” [3] Lotte-chan’s cheek puffed up a little as she pouted.

Oliver, the older brother, swiftly but gently struck the back of her head. The parents quickly apologised to me while the younger brother still looked a little confused. [5]

[8] Personally, I think it’s nice for a family to get along so well. It might sound funny to anyone but I’m a little jealous of Alban who managed to build this happy little family.

I led everyone out from the main building towards the servant’s quarters.

“You’ll be staying here from now on,” [7] I said.

“Eh? Can we really?” Tony looked very shocked.

“Yes, these are the servant’s quarters. I believe everyone will feel better having their own space. This way, you get the best of both worlds. Your own living space and being close to your workplace.”

Personally, I think it’s rather uncomfortable to live with other people in the same house, no matter how large it is. The main building will be used by me and my familiars. The servants will only enter the main building during the day and only during working hours.

“Dear, this is so much better than the house we used to live in…” [3] Teresa-san whispered.

The entire Tony family nodded fervently at her words.

“Well, since there are three buildings, [4] the Tony family will take the one on the left, the Alban family the one in the middle and the former Adventurers the house on the right,” I said. “I’m afraid Tabasa will have to live with a bunch of men but do try to get a room for yourself.”

“No, no, it’s fine. I never thought I’d ever get to live in such a fine place. In fact, I might live a better life as a slave than as an Adventurer,”

Well, Tabasa certainly sounded happy.

I hope it’s really alright. It’s impractical to separate the houses according to sexes or occupation since that would mean splitting up the families.

“Don’t worry, Mukouda-san. I won’t let any of the men attack my sister. In fact, if anyone has the balls to do so, I’d like to congratulate them first,” [7] smirked Luke.

“… …” what are you saying? I mean, sure Tabasa is kind of macho and muscular but I think she has her own charms and strong women are beautiful.

“That’s right, she’s already gone past her prime. So, if Peter or Bartel were to attack her, I’ll be glad to welcome a new brother-in-law, gahahaha!” [7] Irvine laughed stupidly. [5]

“If I ever marry, I’ll marry someone from the same race!” [7] snapped Tabasa.

Bartel and Peter were both looking away, as though this had nothing to do with them. Meanwhile, Luke and Irvine were howling with laughter.

Bam! Bam!

Fist of Fury struck the idiot twins.

Anyway, enough of this nonsense.

Pretending not to see anything weird, I guided the people into the house designated for the former Adventurers. Since all three buildings have identical designs, it’s fine to just tour this one house. [5]

[4] “All three houses have the same layout with three rooms, a living room, dining room and a kitchen. There’s also a well in front of each house so that’s your freshwater taken care of,” I said as I led them towards my favourite part of any house. “Each house also has a bath.”

This garnered appreciative ‘ooh’s from the former Adventurers. The commoners stared at the shiny bathtub uncertainly. Well, that’s to be expected, a house with a bath is generally limited to rich merchants, nobles and Adventurers.

[8] The commoners probably never had a proper hot water soak in their entire life.

“I will provide the necessary Water Magic Stones and Fire Magic Stones later. Once the bath is working, please feel free to use it. It’s always better to be clean.”

Everyone nodded.

The bathtub is designed with a tank on the side where Magic Stones could be slotted in for hot and cold water supply. The size of the magic stone needed, according to the guide from before, is smaller than the tip of a finger.

Anyway, regardless of whether they use the bath or not, there’s a well nearby if they are not used to it.

However, as a Japanese who loves a good hot soak now and again, I’d like everyone to experience the joy of bathing.

“I will give you some daily necessary items, let’s start with this house.”

The servant’s quarters are technically ‘fully furnished’ but it still lacked things like blankets, beddings, pillows etc. I opened up [Net Super] and bought a set of futons and sheets. Good sleep is important so I chose a good brand, it was even on sale!

I also gave them soap and shampoo, along with tableware, buckets for fetching water, toothbrushes and toothpaste. It’s not enough to just clean the outside, one must keep their teeth clean as well.

They have toothbrushes in this world but they are made from loosened fibres of wood and are a little uncomfortable to use. This is probably why quite a few people suffer from tooth decay.

Healthy teeth aside, bad dental hygiene also results in horrible breath.

I made sure to hand out toothbrushes and toothpaste, told them to clean their teeth properly every morning and evening. Irvine and his stupid twin grumbled about all of this being ‘a pain in the ass’.

[4] “I won’t force you,” I said mildly, “but if your teeth start to rot don’t come and find me.”

“Urrrghhh,”

“Also, men with bad breath won’t be liked by women,”

“Urrrghh,”

I had to laugh at the stupid faces they make.

Speaking of which, it seems I can’t get cavities due to the Blessing. However, I don’t feel comfortable not cleaning my teeth every day. Furthermore, bad breath is caused by food rotting in your mouth so it makes sense to keep my teeth clean.

[4] “Alright, I think that’s it for now. Let me know if you’re missing any necessities, alright? You can tell me any time.”

Now that I’ve settled the people, it’s time to cook.

Once everything has calmed down, I will hand the cooking duties over to the women. Naturally, I will provide all the cooking ingredients and seasonings.

However, today is their first day of work. Let’s make something nice to cheer everyone up. Aiya and Teresa could assist me and get to know the kitchen…

Speaking of which, I should heal Aiya once we get to the main building. My employees should be at the peak of health for maximum efficiency.
