Shoto woke up by the slight rummaging near his bed side. Letting out a groan, he stretched his arms over his head and face planted back on his pillow.
"Mystaaa.. Stop movingg so much, goddamnnit." He said in a raspy voice.
Eyes still closed, he then hears a voice that surely wasn't Mysta's. Unless Mysta hit puberty this one night but Shoto doubted so. "I'm a tad bit offended that you'd think I'm Mysta." A deep voice spoke, such a savory voice that was laced with a smooth chocolate feel to it.
Once Shoto realized who the fuck was near his bed, he bolted up with no hesitation. "VOX!?" He yelled, hands clenching his bedsheets as he turned over to see his boss changing clothes.
"AND WHY ARE YOU SHIRTLESSâ" He shook his head, clearly still too tired to wrap his mind around anything. Vox knew this in fact and opted to let Shoto figure it out on his own ways.
The slayer rubbed his tired eyes before letting out a yawn in a series of quiet 'wait' escaping his mouth.
He looked back up to Vox finally having a shirt on and tying his hair up in a messy ponytail. "What are you doing here?" He manage to compile his woken up state to ask for any context in what the fuck happened last night.
"Well." He clicked his tongue. "We had a wee bit too much to drink last night. You wanted your silly little ass to get home all drunk and I wasn't gonna let that happen now, would I?" Shoto rolled his eyes, still listening to Vox ramble about the night. "So I offered to generously take you home and here we are." He cut the story short since he didn't think Shoto could or would retain 'details' in a state.
"There's water next to you. You'll probably wanna drink that once the headache comes." The demon said, pointing at the glass of water next to Shoto's bedside table alongside his lamp.
Just as Vox mentioned about headaches, Shoto could've sworn that's when he got one. It was thumping all over and around his head and it was like a banging drum beating like a heart. He could say that his brain would fly out of his head at any moment.
He rubbed his temples once he realized the shit he got himself into. He sighed. "Okay, thank you for bringing me home."
Vox shrugged. "It was human decency." He simply replied, not wanting to take the thank you but Shoto couldn't fight back in any way possible to care.
He just rolled his eyes, still sitting on his bed. "Yeah whateverâ Hardly call you human at this point-" He quickly muttered out under his breath which he hoped Vox didn't hear.
"Anyways uhâ What- What time is it?" He asked the raven haired man.
"8 am."
What.
His shift starts at like- 6 am and he went by at 5 to clean up before the others came. He was way overdue for his arrival.
His heart sank. "Wait what- I remember I always had a weekly alarm- Why didn't it go off??" He asked more to himself rather than his boss as he hurried over to check that all his alarms were closed and dismissed.
The slayer just let out a sigh of confusion, brows furrowing, not knowing what the fuck was happening. He turned to Vox for answers, atleast any type of answer.
The demon stared back, hands still wrapping around his dark jet-black hair. "I cancelled all of our shifts today, by the way." He finally spoke with a bit of a grin since he properly knew what Shoto was thinking when he said it was 8 am.
"Oh my fucking god, Vox!" He yelled, running a hand through his hair away from his face.
His boss laughed before sitting back to the bed. "The shock on your face was definitely priceless, my boy." He smirked, knowing full well on what drives Shoto to dog-shit crazy.
The slayer just pushed Vox away farther from the bed, not wanting to deal with him yet. "You're so lucky that you're my boss." He said without really thinking on what he actually meant and said.
"Oh?" Vox said in a deeper voice, intrigued at the comment but he didn't push any further. He could tell that Shoto wasn't gonna have it today and he was kind enough to set a boundary to not cross paths with pissy Shoto.
The demon stood up from the bedside and made his way to Shoto's door. "Wait- where are you going?" The slayer asked, still taking in the imformation of what happened last night and everything else that might've happened. "I think my visit to your place is long overdue, is it not?" Well, I mean- True but now that it's exposed to him and all, what's the problem of staying for a bit.
"Yeah.. I guess. Do you know how to get out of- Well, the forest and back to yours?" Shoto asked, finally getting out of bed for him to stand on wobbly feet.
Vox quickly walked by the boy's side to support him and hope to god he wouldn't fall all willy nilly. "Woah, big man. Careful there and I can always figure it out by my own way." He spoke, his voice slightly lifting in pitch in a less richer voice. This was probably his usual speaking voice or something, Shoto thought.
Legs still feeling like jelly just after drinking, he didn't know if he could genuinely do anything today. His feet didn't work properly and he's been mindfucked into nothingness. He should just walk on all fours if he needed to.
Half his weight and balance on Vox's side, he spoke. "I don't think I'll make it through the day." He grumbled, shifting to remove some weight from his boss. "Yeah, it's okay big lad. You'll get the hang of it. Want me to set you back on the bed or?" He questioned, still giving Shoto options on where he wants to freely go.
The slayer hums. "Computer table okay for you? I'd atleast wanna stream if I can't do anything today." He asked which Vox nodded along to. Placing him gently on the chair infront of his computer.
"You stream?" He asked after setting the slayer. Shoto nodded. "Yeah, it's nothing much.. I just do it for fun but I have a shit streaming schedule since of the restaurant and demo-" He cut himself off. He was gonna slip up again? How dumb can he be nowadays. "And demonitazing my stuff." Quick save, ayy.
Though, Shoto thought again. Vox was in his guild house. What's the point of lying to be a slayer when it was practically a bit obvious by now? But Akuma never asked anything about it, could it be that he just genuinely didn't know or catch on? Impossible, that demon was a sick intellectual.
His boss hummed. "Do you.. Play games while talking with your chat?" He asked. Seems like his boss was familiar with gamers and streamers. Does he watch any perhaps?
"Yeah, sometimes I collab with some friends to do weird stuff like reading cringey fanfiction." Shoto said. "Do you watch any streamers?" He asked, following up on the question to Vox.
The demon thought for a bit, his lips pouting almost before smilling when he finally got an answer. "Some of the chefs stream! I just come in as an often guest, not that I don't think of streaming myself. I just don't think It'd be my type of content.. But a lot of your co-workers stream, Shou." He smiled, he really knew a lot about his colleagues, doesn't he?
"Awww.. It's cute when you ramble about certain people. It's admirable." Shoto spat out, once again not thinking what the fuck escaped his mouth. Once he finally realized what he spewed out, he shut his mouth and moved onto the next topic. "Uhâ S-so what platform do they stream on??" He asked, glancing at his unopened computer.
Vox chuckled. "Awhh, thank you my little waiter. I think you're cute too. They do stream on Twitch, I believe." He replied, still standing next to Shoto.
"I stream there too!" He chirped up. Beaming with excitement and joy. Vox could swear he can see dog ears and a tail behind the slayer.
Shoto finally opening his laptop to set up his stream, he continued talking. "What's their users? I wanna watch them! Do they have an uploading schedule? Maybe we can set up collabs!!" He rambled on and on about how cool it was that they streamed on the same platform and that he wasn't a weirdo for streaming alone in his room.
The demon gave a fond smile, inching closer to Shoto and his computer to point at the usernames of his friends. Shoto quickly typing and following them right after.
All of the chefs had an account on Twitch. Shu last streamed around 3 days ago and Ike was last active around a week ago. He saw that they also did collabs with other co-workers such as Alban and Reimu.
"This is so cool, Vox.." He stared at awe, half of him was rethinking of streamimg and just opt to watch his chefs talk and chill while he listened to their voices.
Vox could only agree at the boy's beaming face. "Why don't you stream, big man? I'd love to watch you do your magic." He said which somewhat caught Shoto off guard.
"Don't you need to get home though? I really don't wanna bother you while I have fun and stream and you're just- Ya know, watching."
"What's the difference of watching you through a screen and right next to you?" He asked, sitting next to Shoto on the fluffy white bed.
"Okay, that sentence sounded kinda creepy but go on." The slayer joked, laughing to himself and at Vox for a good minute or so while his boss tried to explain that his sentence didn't mean to sound like he was a stalker.
Shoto opened up his stream and let his opening play for a good 3 minutes or so before finally saying his hello's. Thousands of hearts and messages flowed at rapid speed which Vox couldn't even read. He hasn't seen such a fast chat in a while.
"Hi chaaat. Mwua mwa. How are we all?" He asked with a soft smile that the demon has never seen plastered on his face. Is this how streamer Shoto is? Sweet and nice? If so then Vox needs to watch this more pleasant side of the slayer.
Shoto looked over at Vox then back at the screen. He gestured to the demon. "Do you wanna join?" He asked quietly which Vox just shook his head in a 'no'.
"But am I allowed to trash talk you if you're shit at the game?" He questioned with a smirk. Shoto rolling his eyes fondly, he let out a yes and a smile.
-x-
It had been quite a bit of streaming so Shoto thought of finally ending his stream. He waved goodbyes and kisses back to his fans while they could hear a deeper voice mock his farewells. Which unsurprisingly, Shoto flipped him off infront of thousands of people watching.
"Shoto, I'm hurt. Don't do that to me, baby." Vox spoke in a sarcastic tone, hands dramatically wrapping his cheeks to seem more sorrowful which didn't work.
The petname did caught Shoto off guard for a second but he played along. It was probably cause Shoto used the word "babe" a lot. Uki affected him on that if he was honest.
"Aww, I'm sorry babe. I'll make it up to you tonight, yeah?" Shoto spoke smoothly, his voice deepening a bit to be a soothing calming voice that anyone could fall asleep to.
Vox laughed before he flopped to the slayer's bed and told him to end his stream because he was getting impatient for the surprise Shoto had on him tonight as the indigo eyed boy claimed.
He finally ended the stream, kissing goodbyes as per usual. This time Vox didn't mock him. He closed his laptop since he didn't want it to overheat and turned to his boss. "Well, it's now 12 noon. Wanna head out for some lunch?" He asked.
Catching Vox by surprise, he didn't think that Shoto would want to spend more time with him. Nonetheless make the move to ask. "Aw.. Has my waiter finally warmed up to me? I'd love to, Shoto." He said, mocking the purple haired boy once more.
"Don't flatter yourself.." He muttered, standing up before staring at Vox.
He inched closer and sniffed his clothes. "This reeks of alcohol. I'll wash it and I can find you some clothes to wear when we go out. Is that alright?" He asked, still pulling at a bit of Vox's clothes.
The demon affirmed before taking off his shirt midway. "WOAH, WOAHâ VOX NO-" Shoto yelled, hastily trying to put Vox's shirt back down.
The pitch black haired male just stared in confusion. "YOU'RE NOT JUST GONNA STAND IN MY ROOM HALF NAKED, VOX!" He stuttered out, voice still pitching higher and higher.
"I'llâ I'll get you clothes and you can change in the bathroom." He sighed. His blood pressure is gonna sky rocket today.
