'where ever you stray I follow'

.

The lion lost his dominance

Ayat booked a ride for herself and patiently waited for the uber to arrive, she had went to the mall to get a pair of heels for her upcoming farewell party, feeling satisfied on buying a beautiful stilettos with black straps, that she was going to be wearing with a long frock, she let herself marinate in the feeling of good clothes and shoes and taking in the beautiful sunset, her uber ride was 3 minutes away.

She was so thankful when a car came in her view, telling she could finally go back home. Ayat settled in the back seat and scrolled through her instagram feed. The car rode along a long and narrow alley, the sunset was beautiful, Ayat put down her phone to appreciate the nature. The car halted to a stop with a sudden break. Ayat looked down from the sky she was so immersed in and she realized they had went deep into that alley way, and as the grey sky was taking over the sun's glow, it made the place more shady than she'd like, a slurry of anxiety quaked her.

"Why did we stop?" She said looking worriedly around, there were broken pieces of glass and wooden shreds everywhere, ropes and what seemed like red, blood, was covering the ground.

"Something is wrong with the tire," The man said and got out of the car, in moments accompanying them, he came back.

"What happened?"

"I don't have an extra tire,"

As soon as the words left the driver's mouth she knew, something was wrong, she had seen enough true crime documentaries to know this kind of tactic.

"I think I can do something, if you unlock this," She spoke calmly, if she was careful she could get out of this situation. He looked back at her with a menacing glare, and made a innocent pout.

"I can't find the lock button either," he started to laugh, blood dried in her veins listening to that horrific laugh.

"Let me out, I will complain..." She threatened.

"Not some stupid uber driver," He said completely changing his persona, she might have been too blind but she could see it now, he didn't even look normal, he seemed like a perfect pawn of some gangster.

Her mind bolted into frenzy, she could handle this, she could, but she didn't know how.

"I am not scared of you," She said. Fake it till you make it? it was the best time to test all the theories. Something should work.

"But you should be," He spoke. She didn't realized when he came in the back seat, it was the most stupidest time, but she did realize, this is what fear was, in it's raw form, not what Maaz made her feel, at least she'd die happily, she'd solved that mystery.

"Get away from me," She squeezed towards the window, trying to put distance between them.

As he toppled over her, with his disgusting smell over her body. She jacked back making an angle to blow a punch at him. He could have gotten a concussion if she had hit hard enough. But her attempts were failing miserably. She knew this would be bad now, she literally punched him and he was already over powering her. She wondered what would be the right time to start crying.

He clasped her wrist and twisted it in a painful manner, making her groan. A few tears trailed down her cheek. She tried to blow another punch when he slapped her, making her head hit on the window, as she was recovering from the initial shock, in the doozy her brain was an idea climbed up her conscious, she acted like she was feeble and in delirium whilst she was thinking perfectly.

He smiled seeing her give in, and then he made a dumb move, just what she was trying to make him do. Always let your opponent think you are weak and then hit them in their weakest spot.

He picked his phone and called someone.

"Have all the fun myself or are you joining guys?" He said over the call. Even though she had the situation handled, almost. She was in middle of something that she thought she could totally ace at handling but her anxiety, shit, her anxiety was blurring her eyes and all four senses along with her. Her breath started to become uneven, She could handle this if she could breath.

Her anxiety was the main reason she tried karate. She thought it would make it better, make it better when she knew she could have control, but she was losing control in every area of life, and that was the trigger she didn't find so pleasing.

She needed to focus.

Focus, you can get out of it. You can.

At first she sheepishly tried to reach the lock in the front seat when the man kept talking shit about her on the phone, but her shaking hands didn't allow her. The man caught her doing the prohibited, he put the phone down and pulled her hair from behind, his stench crinkled her nose, as he spoke to her.

"You are going nowhere," He said. "Besides, some time with me won't hurt,"

She figured this was the best time to shout for help, and thrash until that man gets off her, she couldn't lay there and do nothing, she'd much rather die, than let some one take advantage of her.

"Help!" She shouted with all the will that was left in her body. "Anyone!"

"Try harder, this is my boss's territory, and everyone here will think of you as a feast, after all you are Maaz Farooq Chaudhry's secret jackpot,"

Before she didn't listen to him talking wasteful shit to her, but her ears stood up at his name and all her defense solutions drained out her mind. It focused her scattered attention on his name. Only one sentence ringed her mind constantly.

'My enemies come for me and the things I love faster then lightening'

"I have nothing to do with whatever bone you have with him, please let me go," She almost begged.

"You are his weakness, and I would love to see his ego break when he can't protect you," He spoke. How had she managed to land herself in this impossible position? This is what he was talking about, his world full of darkness, and dogs coming to bite any instance they found, but he promised her something else as well.

'I wouldn't let them hurt you'

"Then be a man, and go deal with him," Her voice cracked, she might die today, only at the expense of living her forbidden fairytale, she had overlooked the gun, the things he'd talked about, she was foolish enough to think he would protect her, but she was paying for her stupidity.

"My boss is political foes with Maaz's friend, Shahzain, and we all know who is the master mind behind all those treacherous things, they torched my boss endless until he was unable to walk, and my boss never rests until he takes revenge, and it feels like a lifetime that we found Maaz Farooq Chaudhry's weakness," He completed. "And besides, why would I let such a beautiful and breathtaking girl out of my sight, and not take advantage,"

This wasn't the story she was looking for, this screamed that after this man was done doing whatever he planned on, he would dump her in a trash can after he fills her in a sack. She could think worse, but there is one thing she was not, a quitter, she'd fight, until there was no fight in her anymore. She immediately started to rummage through her bag; there should be something, something worth defense.

Twisting her wrist painfully, the man leaned above her and planted a kiss on her exposed neck. Wrong move, she got a hold of the steel bottle and sprayed the pepper fumes in his eyes.

"Bitch!"

Her body had paralyzed for the moment. This wasn't the time to stop moving, her hands tried to reach an iron rod she had spotted initially as she sat, and idiotically did not find suspicious, she had an eye on it, but there was no way she could reach it on that filthy monsters watch, she grabbed the rod, but the man hit her in her stomach, this wasn't the time to cry either, or be a baby and complain about pain. She hit him with the rod and broke the window, she knew the risk she was taking as she stumbled from above the broken glass window and down the street and ran for her life.

One man turned to four, and circled her before she could make a run.

"Aren't you stubborn?" One of the men said. She moved a few steps back when the former man came outside of the car rubbing his eyes, looking like he'd eat her flesh.

What now? she thought to herself. She looked around, trying to find something useful, but nothing.

"You never told us she was so tasty looking," One of the man said licking his lips, she wanted to throw up, but somehow even between the impossibility, she felt his promise in her heart. A hand clasped her wrist, and the stream of tears began but the kind of air that hit her contained the strongest men perfume, she could think of, and she recognized the scent. A strange feeling engulfed her. She wanted to be cocooned in that feel forever but naturally it lasted for a few seconds only. He had come. She hadn't felt such relief in her entire life.

Her external appearance was ragged, where her scarf was ripped from the side and the blood she bled when she jumped from the window. Her tear stained face looked strangely fierce, but the tears twisted a lot of nerves inside Maaz.  She did ace at it, she did handle one man, just like she thought, but only because it was a fair fight, he wanted to pull her in his arms and make her feel secured, but in all the chaos, one thought seemed to grip him, and it made his blood boil.

How dare they touch her?

"You all made a huge mistake" he wasn't shouting, he was speaking in a maintained baritone at them with blood ridden eyes and an undying fury, Ayat felt a shake spread across her, she had never seen him in such anger before, there were so many things she hadn't seen before. "You will beg for death once I am done with you all,"

"You have to do much better than that, you are in our territory," One of them boasted.

"What kind of unnatural reality makes you think that I won't pull the most important thing in my life out of here,"

Ayat looked at him in pure awe, but this wasn't the best time to get fascinated.

"Only three minutes late and your important thing would have been on the ground underneath..."

He pushed her behind himself possessively, until she was out of sight from the goons, tucked behind him safely, she had never felt so protected her entire life. His neck vein protruding. Her nerves were on a roller coaster. Sometimes making her weak and useless, but God those other times, she could kick a man in their balls. She had managed to run from the car, most couldn't do that either, if it was only one man she could have run.

Maaz blew a punch at him effortlessly, like he did these five times just for his lazy day, his other hand still protectively wrapped around her wrist.

All the men exchanged glances and looked towards Maaz. They growled like dogs that they were and targeted Maaz, while Maaz was doing some kick boxing hot stunts, a man came from behind holding a sharp knife. She need to counter the attack. She breathed deeply.

Any affirmation?

I am a karate black belt not an anxious person. A black belt...Black belt.

Ayah held a wooden stick from the ground and blew at the first one's stomach. While he clenched his jaw, another man came to get Ayah; she hit him with her elbow on his face. He twisted her arm in process. It could be worse. At least she was fighting.

The other two came running as well, Ayah threw the wooden stick towards Maaz he caught and blew the man on his head as he fell back bleeding and Ayah threw a stone on the other one's head.

Maaz took the one who was coming for Ayah and flipped him on the ground. While Ayat dealt with another one, with her pepper spray that Arsalan had once given her and she thought this was the most useless gift her brother could give her, but guess, she'd have to give her brother a hug for this.

He was the Uber guy. It was something that he said that Maaz went in pure rage.

"The fuck you said!" Maaz growled punching the man's bloody mouth, and took his revolver out, it shined under the setting sun, producing huge warning signs for Ayah, if this kept on going her mind could crash, her systems could fails, what the hell was he trying to do?

"We will keep going after her until you see her suffer with open eyes, and you will be unable to help, so useless and control less, I promise you," He spoke. It would take some nerve to speak when Maaz looked like he'd murder him there.

"Maaz," She let out a small voice.

He didn't listen.

"Maaz..." She said again captured by pure horror.

"For god's sake put the gun down," She shouted this time with glistening tears and a horror filled voice, but Maaz was filled with the worst kind of rage you could possibly conjure. They were being extra brave and he had already woken up on the wrong side of bed.

"Maaz..." She gasped when Maaz loaded the gun and slowly pulled the trigger. A thrumming voice of gunshot disturbed the air, and Ayat collapsed on the ground. The night was dark, and in this night, the lion lost his dominance.
