The next day was full of activities and we actually did end up going on the row boats. Max was excited but he was nervous which caused him to laugh a lot due to his nervousness of falling in. Sara ended up falling in the lake and Caden had laughed so much that he fell in. That caused Max to laugh so he fell in which caused me to laugh. However, the only reason I fell in was because Max tipped over the boat from under the water. I just had to do the same to Victor and soon everyone that was on a row boat fell in the water. The only one that made it back to the camp site fresh was Charlie. Mr. Cotez was not impressed to say the least. After we had all showered Max thought it would be the best idea to play volleyball which I absolutely suck at.
"Hector, you're with Charlie and I'm with Diego."
"Oh we are so gonna kick your ass!" Charlie shouted.
I never understood why Max wanted me on his team because he could get competitive and he knows I suck. I guess that's true friendship right there. It turned out that Hector also sucked at Volleyball and it ended up just looking like Max and Charlie were the only ones playing.
"Yo, Maxie! You suck!" Caden shouted when Max lost the point.
"I learned from you, asshole!" Max shouted back.
"I'll show you how its done," Caden growled and grabbed the ball from Charlie.
"Might as well make it a game," Victor suggested.
"Alright, I get Diego, Victor, Charlie, and Hector, and um. . . Anthony get over here and play!"
Caden scoffed and said, "Fine, take Victor. I get Candy, Liam, Ash, Tyler, and Pete."
"But I don't want to pla-"
"Shut up, Pete! You're playing!"
"What about me?" Sara whined.
"Sara you hate volleyball. Be Hector's cheerleader," Max said and got into position.
"Okay!" She happily agreed.
Caden served the ball and Max practically flew in front of me to hit it back. I was thankful that Hector was quick to help me catch my balance because I would have for sure fallen. Victor had hit many balls away from my face throughout the game but I did hit the ball once and made a point. Max practically died from happiness. Thanks to my score we were in the lead but that's when Caden really got competitive. He kept hitting the ball harshly and when I tried to get away I would almost fall and Hector had to catch me multiple times.
"Watch it!" Max snapped at Caden when I fell and Hector wasn't able to get to me on time.
"He should learn to play!" Caden snapped back
"Guys, I'm okay," I laughed and thanked Victor who helped me up.
"I serve," Victor announced.
He twisted the ball around and examined it a bit before he threw it in the air and a harsh smack was heard. The ball was quick and it flew right for Caden's face. If Caden was any slower then the ball would have definitely hit him. I tried my best to hide the grin half smirk my face had but it was hard. That was my boyfriend.
"Yo, Victor! Chill man!"
"Our ball," Victor said, ignoring Caden.
The ball was passed back to him and another strong hit was made. Candy actually squealed and ran off court and Caden again had to dodge the ball. When Victor got the ball another strong hit and it kept repeating until Pete manage to hit the ball back. He hit it awkwardly but it still managed to get back into our court. Max, who was ready, dived and hit the ball up. Hector saw the chance and hit the ball. While he did suck, he managed to get the ball over. Caden practically shoved everyone away and hit the ball back. The ball went in Victor's direction and he hit the ball with one of his powerful hits. The ball went in Candy's direction, who screamed and ran the other way. Caden cursed loudly but Liam managed to hit it, the ball going to Ash's direction. He hit it over and Charlie managed to hit the ball up. Anthony hit the ball over and it went towards Tyler. Tyler hit the ball up and Caden tried to spike it. Victor, who saw what was going to happen, ran and dived getting the ball before it hit the ground. The ball went up and Max made a spike of his own. Caden watched in horror as Candy ran away from the ball and let it touch the ground.
"Suck that bitch!"
"Max! Language!" Mr. Cortez cried in horror.
Max winced and apologized but gave Caden the middle finger when Mr. Cortez looked away. Sara tackled Hector and Charlie jumped on Max. I almost yelped in shock when Victor hugged me in happiness. I guess he also got competitive. No one thought it was weird because Max was next to hug me happily. Of course, he also hugged Anthony who was awkwardly standing there. Caden was a sore loser for the rest of the day and Max repeatedly teased him.
"Alright, happy campers! It's time for the bonfire! Get out your snacks and if you don't have any we have some for you to have. There are two fire stations so get your friends and gather around them. There are logs for you to sit on or you can use a chair or you can use a blanket and sit down. Whatever works!"
I helped Max get two big blankets from our tent and we laid them down for us to sit on. Surprisingly, Victor and his friends also decided to sit on blankets instead of the logs or chairs. It was Sara, Charlie, Max, Hector, and then myself on our blankets. Victor sat right next to me on his blanket and Caden was next to him. I was eating popcorn while Hector and Max were eating s'mores. Charlie and Sara were also having popcorn but they were sharing. Victor was having a little bit of both. He had a plate of s'mores but he was also stealing some of my popcorn. The fire was nice and it warmed me up.
"Want some?" Hector asked me and offered me a s'more.
"I'm not a big fan of s'mores. It's too much sweet for me. But I love popcorn."
He chuckled and I smiled, shivering a bit from the cold. He took off his sweater and placed it around my shoulders, the sweater warning me up immediately. Before I knew it, Victor pulled out a blanket and also put it over my shoulders, warming me up even more.
"Thank you, guys," I said with a small blush and ate more popcorn.
"Aw, Victor! I'm also cold," Candy whined.
"Caden has a blanket."
"No, I don't," Caden said and avoided eye contact.
"Dude, you literally showed me it when we were getting our blankets. You said it was your favorite blanket. "
"I don't have it," Caden said in a tone that meant the conversation was over.
"Does anyone know any ghost stories?" Max asked.
"I know the camp fire song song," Charlie said.
"Let's gather around the campfire and sing our campfire song," I couldn't help but start.
"Our c-a-m-p-f-i-r-e s-o-n-g song," Max sang.
"And if you don't think that we can sing it faster than you're wrong," Hector chimed in.
"But it'll help if you just sing along," Charlie sang and nudged Sara to do the next part.
She looked at us as if we were dumb and boringly said, "Bum, bum, bum."
"C-a-m-p-f-i-r-e s-o-n-g song. C-a-m-p-f-i-r-e s-o-n-g son-"
"Alright! While I enjoyed you're little. . . Scene, it is getting late so we have to keep it down," Mr. Cortez warned.
We groaned but lowered our voices. Caden ended up telling a scary story that had me hiding in the blanket Victor gave me. If I could I would be cuddling and hiding in Victor's side but I obviously couldn't do that. Mr. Cortez had gone to sleep at his tent when midnight rolled around and some studentsalso went to bed. It was mainly just my friend group and Caden, Victor, Candy, and about two other people were still awake. Max was bummed when he remembered that we had to go back tomorrow.
"I think its gonna rain," Candy said, looking up at the sky.
"At least we have our covers for on top of the tent," Max said.
"Oh, shit," Caden suddenly said. "I think I forgot ours."
"You can't be serious," Victor said, completely turning to Caden.
"I was looking at the tent after we bought it at my place and I must've forgotten to pack it back up. I didn't see it when we were fixing up the tent."
"Well just get your stuff and sleep in Diego's tent. They have the biggest one and each of their rooms can fit two people," Charlie said.
"What?" Max asked and looked at her as if she was crazy.
"I'd rather sleep in the lake than sleep in the same tent as him," Caden snapped.
"Good, the lake is that way," Max snapped back and pointed where the lake is.
"Diego, would it be a problem if we slept in your tent?" Victor asked calmly.
I looked at Hector who shrugged and then looked at Max. He was the stubborn one and was avoiding eye contact with me. He couldn't actually be thinking of saying no. I mean, they would definitely get wet without the tent cover because the rain would enter through the holes at the top. I knew Max wouldn't be that cruel. So when he sighed and looked down I knew he was going to say it was okay.
"Yeah, it'll be fine."
"Well we should head to bed. They assigned a small hike before letting us do whatever before we leave since they cancelled the movie," Sara said and stood up, stretching and helping Charlie up after.
"Goodnight," Max, Hector, and I said.
Soon Victor's friends also went to bed and even Hector went to bed. He mentioned that he didn't mind anyone sleeping in his side of the tent and to just wake him if anyone was. Caden said he didn't want to sleep in his side of the tent and he definitely wasn't sleeping in mine so that left him with Max who groaned and cursed. Of course, that left me with my boyfriend and I couldn't be happier. They didn't try to take apart their tent because it would have made too much noise so they simply grabbed their things and we went to our tent. As soon as Max zipped up their side they immediately started to whisper argue. Victor was quick to pull me down next to him and he hovered above me, giving me a long and deep kiss. It was very hard to stay silent but he knew we couldn't do much as well so he laid down beside me and pulled me to his chest.
"I missed you so much," he whispered so soft I almost thought I didn't actually hear it.
"I missed you too," I whispered just as softly.
He cuddled me and I fell asleep with a small smile on my face. This was by far the best camping trip.
