Chapter 35: Alpha Ash âWhat do you mean he isnât coming!â I growled out at the royal messenger, as. I stood up in my bath, water falling everywhere. âHeâs the King, heâs required to come.â
âIâm sorry if you misunderstood meâ The dreadfully boring messenger replied, â What I said earlier, was that the Alphaâs summit has been postponed until a later date.â
The messenger had mousy brown hair, boringly dull blue eyes, and a face that one wouldnât look twice at, I couldnât determine what her body looked like underneath all the baggy clothes she wore, but I bet that it would be dreadfully boring as well. I already knew the reason this particular messenger was sent to me, and it ignited a flame of anger inside of me. (This novel will be daily updtaed at www.noveljar.com)Had the messenger been a male, I would have killed him immediately for approaching my territory and if sheâd been an attractive female, I would have fucked her raw and then added her to my sex slave collection. But this plain Jane messenger was sent with the intent of me listening to the message and doing nothing else. I should fuck her just to spite the king, but I had no desire to plunge my cock into her.
âWhy has it been postponed?â I growled out, feeling my patience thinning.
âThe King has taken a Queen.â The messenger said nervously hopping from one foot to the other.
mess My beast let out a loud roar and it took everything within me to stop from shifting right then and there. If Nikolai had taken a Queen it meant that his claim over the throne was now stronger than it had ever been. The only way now to dethrone the king would be by eliminating him. Even if I were to get ahold of the Queen, the public would consider that political treason and once Nikolai got her back using whatever means possible, I would be sentenced to death, if the king hasnât already taken my life.
âCarter,â I mind-linked my new Beta, âSummon the witches.â
âOf course Alpha,â Carter responded, I could practically feel him bowing down to me through the link.
It had been had replacing Beta Daniels. I had know since we were just pups that he would be my Beta.
We grew up planing on how we would run the pack, how we would break free from the kingâs grasp and be our own people to do as we please. While it was Daniels idea to scout the castle, I still felt like his death was partially my fault. I shouldnât have asked him to give me documentation on what Nikolai was planning. It should have been a simple recon mission but I always wanted more.
âYou may go now.â I growled up at the messenger, realizing she was still sitting there as if waiting for something.
âSo, should I tell the King, that you will not be coming to the ceremony?â The ridiculously bland woman asked, her eyebrow raised.
âDid I say I wouldnât be attending?â I replied, eyes leering at her.
âWell, you never said you werenât Alpha.â The obnoxious woman replied, lifting her chin to stare into my eyes defiantly. âIn fact, youâve been rather rude, this entire conversation. Youâve been standing here, dripping water on the floor in nothing but your birthday suit, but I Ignored this rudeness, due to the fact youâre a shifter, and shifters have their own weird obsession with nakedness, but then on multiple occasions youâve had the audacity to make me repeat myself while you stand here and growl at me.(This novel will be daily updtaed at www.noveljar.com) I wonât abide bit it. I amâ¦â
My hands were around the womanâs throat before she could finish her sentence. How dare this wretched low life woman, come onto my pack territory and talk to me as if she is my superior and not beneath me.
I wouldnât stand to be scolded like I was a little school boy on my pack lands. I growled at my eyes. I wanted to see the terror in this womanâs eyes before I killed her for her disrespect.
As my grip tightened a bright white light started to surround the womanâs body. The area on her neck my hand was wrapped around started to burn, and I felt like the skin on my hand was starting to melt off. I growled out in anguish as I dropped the woman and cradled my hand, looking at the blistering burns her magic had caused.
âAs I was saying,â The woman continued, small silver wings erupting from her back. âI am the Kingâs Royal Messenger. I demand respect from every person I visit, even you Alpha Ash. If you ever try to put a hand on me again, I will cripple you. Mark my words.â She said with a cross look on her face, her hatred for me showing clearly through her eyes.
âEh-hmmm,â She said clearing her throat. âNow where were we, ahh, thatâs right, Shall I tell the King youâre attending the coronation ceremony?â She asked, her demeanor once again professional.
âFucking Faeries.â My wolf growled into my ears, âIf we would have known the messenger was a faerie we would have been more prepared to take her down. Now that we know we should capture her and make her ours.
I pushed my wolf to the back of my mind once more. While he was right, if I were to capture the faerie, I could increase my power, it was too dangerous to take this one. The King would know if his royal messenger went missing, and he would be able to pinpoint exactly where species took her. The reason behind it wouldnât be hard for him to discover once he learned who had taken her. Then my entire plan would be ruined.
âAlpha Ash?â The Faerie asked becoming impatient with my lack of response, âWill you or will you not be joking the King to celebrate the new Queen?â
âLet King Nikolai know that Alpha Ash will be in attendance, and that I will be bringing along some of my finer warriors to gift to the Queen.â I responded with a sly smile on my face a plan quickly beginning to take shape in my mind.
The hardest part of obtaining the throne would be breaking into the now impenetrable castle, but if the King knew of my warriors before hand he would allow them into the palace with open arms. Once inside my skilled warriors will follow my orders and the throne will be mine.
âPerfect.â The faerie responded, jotting down some notes. âOh and one other matter, the King has inquired on when youâll let his royal advisors go, a Sir Draq, and a Sir Dru; theyâre dragon shifters and theyâre thought to be in the dungeons.â The faerie asked raising her head and once again starring me straight in my eyes. (This novel will be daily updtaed at www.noveljar.com)My wolf wanted to pounce and claw her throat out, luckily I had full control over him and was able to keep him leashed.
âAnd why should I let them go?â I asked trying to keep the hatred from my tone.
âKing Nikolai has stated they were here based on orders directly from the king himself. If they are not released by sunset tomorrow, he will come and release them himself. If he has to come himself, your pack will be disbanded Alpha.â
âFine. Carter!â I yell calling for my Beta who I know is standing outside the door âYes Alpha?â He asks the door opening seconds later.
âFetch the dragon twins. Bring them up here chained. Once theyâre in my office we will remove the chains and the faerie will dispose of herself and them.â I replied, the fury glowing in my eyes as I spoke with him.
Carter cringed at the deadly look in my eye. He had only just stepped into his position as Beta, and he hasnât see what a cornered Alpha would do in this type of situation, he had much learning still to do, but he was essential towards my revenge. âYes Alpha.â Carter responded formally in front of the faerie.
âOh, and Carter, how soon until our guests arrive?â I ask innocently as a way to gauge the distance from the witches to us, and as a polite cue to let the Faerie know that I was expecting company.
âTheyâll be here within the hour.â Carter responded, grabbing the keys to the cell from off my desk, before turning and closing the door behind him as he left to go and release the twin dragons.
The faerie rolled her eyes. âDonât worry Alpha, we wonât waste anymore of your precious time, as soon as I see that Draq and Dru are fit for transporting.â
âOf course,â I manage to grit out, hoping the smile on my face didnât falter.
