Chapter 29: "No longer Afraid"

Love Left Me, But I StayedWords: 434

I used to fear the braking tides,

The storms that tore,

The winds that cried.

But every wave that crashed on me

Taught me how to rise from the sea.

I do not fear the fall anymore,

For I have learned what it is for.

Not to end me,

Not to drown—

But to wash away what held me down.

Author's Note

I will never avoid the storms again. I realize they were never meant to destroy me. They were meant to teach me how to rant in their wake.
