I grabbed Alex, who was nearby and got him to check the chandelier that fell .
Although he seemed confused he did as he was told, then widened his eyes in surprise .
âHuk . Why did this become so loose?â
Alex called for about two more servants and replaced the connecting part with a new one .
The servants decided to check the other chandeliers as well, and as I was watching the butler came up to talk to me .
âIt wouldâve been dangerous if we just left it . There couldâve been an accident at the banquet . How did you know?â
âJustâ¦â¦ . â
I just made up a random reason to the butler, who was looking at me as if I had godly powers .
âHad a bad dream about it . â
The chandelier was fixed easily but I couldnât be relaxed .
There were quite a lot of things that caught my attention now that I was looking over the banquet hall like this .
âThat statue . â
What if it suddenly falls? It looks dangerous because itâs heavy .
âThat decoration . â
It wouldnât be good if that fell on your head .
âVase . â
Why did they put such a big case there? What if someone got crushed under it?
I was nervous . If Agrita dying wasnât a coincidence and was her fate, I couldnât leave anything that could be dangerous .
I had to get rid of everything .
I looked at the butler, who I had given my dream excuse to .
âI had a bad feeling about this . My dream was ominous . So could we change the banquet hall location or the placing of things? I really hope we can do it even if it means we have to delay the banquet a bit . â
âWhat? Ah, yes . I understand . Please tell me how you want it done . â
Perhaps it was because he had seen the chandelier, the butler did not question my words despite my sudden request .
From then I actively began removing the things that bothered me .
If someone asked me if it was okay to change the banquet hall like this, even though I wasnât the reason we were having a banquet, I could say itâs okay because Ash isnât interested in stuff like this .
He has no interest to the point that he wouldnât even know what changed .
It took about thirty minutes to fix everything . Right then Bessie hurriedly ran down the stairs .
âMiss!â
âHmm? Ah . â
âI heard from the butler . Youâre changing everything because of your dream . Sigh, but still . Why now?!â
I noticed that Bessie was holding heavy makeup boxes filled with makeup in each hand .
I was shocked by her enthusiasm . Huk, I couldnât believe she carried it all the way here .
âWasnât it heavy?â
âIs being heavy the issue here? I thought you would come if I waitedâ¦â¦ . â
âSorry . But I still have some stuff to rearrangeâ¦â¦ . â
âYou can order them while getting your makeup done . â
So I ended up sitting at a chair and getting my makeup done for me while I ordered for things to be removed or replaced .
Bessieâs hands flew around madly as she finished makeup that would normally take an hour in thirty minutes .
The butler who was watching later told me it looked like Bessie had godly powers .
Anyway time passed and I was about done getting ready and almost done getting dangerous objects out of the banquet hall .
I looked around the hall one last time next to Bessie, who was panting in pride .
âDone . â
For now, there was nothing dangerous left that I could see . I did all that I could .
There seemed to be nothing in the hall that could target Agritaâs life .
In a little bit, the invited guests will begin entering .
I will be outside for a while when that happens and enter with Ash after the entire hall is full of people .
âThe Duke should be finished getting ready as well . Letâs go upstairs . â
I paused in the middle of turning at those words .
Wait .
Now that I look at it, thatâ¦â¦ .
âThat carpet . â
âYes?â
âThe material looks slippery . Someone wearing high heels may slip and fall . â
ââ¦â¦ . . â
âLetâs change it . â
The butler hadnât been saying anything about my orders till now, but he now he looked at me with eyes that looked like he had something to say .
I ignored his look and pushed my order .
âHurry . â
* * *
In other peopleâs eyes, it must have looked like I was making a fuss .
It wasnât like I didnât know .
I saw that the servants who followed my orders after seeing how I had identified the carpet began giving me flustered looks as time went by .
âThink about what you want . â
I wondered if I should elaborate on how terrible my dream was, but dropped the idea .
What they thought of my actions wasnât all that important .
There was only one important matter . Preventing Agritaâs death .
âAndâ¦â¦ . . â
I clenched my fist .
âI need to figure out what the issue is . â
I thought about it until late last night and even though till I broke the marble this morning .
It was a continuation of accidents that didnât go far from a certain point, so I couldnât think of an answer, but I did come up with one solution .
âSomething is wrong with Agrita . â
There were only two options . If it was true that the world was trying to kill the heroine .
Thereâs something wrong with the world, or thereâs something wrong with the heroine .
Or it could be both but thatâs too depressing so I decided not to think about it now .
It would be difficult to look for the problem that occurred in the world if I were to try and do it by myself .
So I decided to think that there was a problem with Agrita, which gave me a little hope .
âIâll observe thoroughly throughout the banquet . â
âPhew . â
I breathed loudly without even realizing when Ash suddenly spoke to me .
âNervous?â
âOf courseâ¦â¦ . â
I nearly replied naturally before shutting my mouth . Thatâs not right .
I took into consideration the place and situation . Right now I was standing in front of the banquet hall entrance with Ash .
I was simply attending as a family member and guest of the banquet that was for Ash .
âThereâs no reason for me to be nervous . â
There was no reason for me to be outside and Ash seemed a little confused .
Ah, I canât even tell him that itâs because of Agrita .
I rolled my eyes and made up a reason .
ââ¦â¦ . Of course, Iâm nervous . Itâs the day youâre becoming an adult . â
I actually had no idea what it meant for Ash to become an adult today .
In my eyes, he had been an adult long before today .
But I acted the part of the older sister who was proud of her younger brother who had grown to be an adult and was even more thrilled than he was .
âItâs a really important day, donât you think?â
Ash didnât really respond . Hmm, well, I guess he understood .
Right then the banquet hall door opened at the butlerâs signal .
I walked into the hall with my hand on Ashâs arm .
ââ¦â¦Hello, Your Grace . â
âCongratulations on becoming an adult . â
âI also congratulate you with all my heart . â
The same scene as before unfolded . The people who had frozen at Ashâs appearance soon surrounded him to offer their greetings .
I also somewhat responded to the greetings made towards me and wiped my cheek with my right hand . Thereâs isnât a piece of thread on my face today right?
âAgrita . â
I turned my eyes .
Agrita was standing near the entrance with the exact look she had before we came back in time .
I looked above her unconsciously .
Despite having checked up on the chandelier earlier my heart still pounded .
Ash did not see Agrita this time either .
Not only did she not catch his sight, but he was also responding to the crowdâs greetings without even realizing that she existed .
Not caring about him, I continued to look at Agrita .
This was also a bit flustering, but it wasnât important compared to Agritaâs death .
Everything came after Agritaâs survival .
After a while of watching her, Agrita began to move .
Taking into consideration the direction she was moving in, it seemed like she was approaching this way .
âIs she going to come to greet Ash?â
Ash spoke first to Agrita in the book but I supposed it was going to flow a different way because Ash did not act the way he was supposed to .
I glanced at the ceiling again . The chandelier did not move .
I maintained my focus and didnât take my eyes off of her .
But in the middle of walking this way, Agrita suddenly grabbed a servant .
âHmm?â
She seemed to ask something, and the servant pointed at a direction . It was the door that led to the back garden .
Agrita bowed her head slightly in gratitude and turned in that direction .
âHuh?â
I came back to my senses soon after being flustered .
Ah, yes . I remembered that Agrita actually spent her time in the back garden instead of the crowded hall while the banquet was open .
Ash was supposed to ask for her name and cause a scene before she left for the garden, but that step seemed to be omitted .
âBack gardenâ¦â¦ thereâs nothing in the back garden right?â
The back garden was a simple garden . There were only small trees and grass .
Ah, rocksâ¦â¦ are those dangerous too?
I watched her move towards the door and took a step as well .
I was worried too but I had to observe and watch her anyway .
I had to follow her .
It shouldâve been Ash instead of me, but Ash was already doing things unlike the plot, so I doubted he would do this either .
To not give her the stalker vibes, I moved quickly after she went out the door .
I carefully opened the door and pushed my body out .
âSheâs there . â
Agrita did not move far . She was sitting on a flat rock that was a small distance away from the hall, where the light from the hall still shined softly .
I thought about how I should observe her .
Should I just watch and observe?
Or should I approach her and have a conversation?
I was beginning to ask myself whatâs the point of simply watching her from a distance .
Unless I had amazing insight on what was going on, even if there was something wrong with Agrita I wouldnât be able to identify it by just watching from a distance like this .
âThereâs no other way . â
Letâs go talk to her . Even if we donât have a full-on conversation I might be able to feel something if I look at her close up .
I walked towards her as I thought this .
âUgh . â
Someone whined and It wasnât from me .
âAll the shoes here are in bad quality . Why do the expensive ones hurt my feet so much?â
I stopped in my tracks .
âIs it because my feet are weak or something?â
Perhaps she couldnât see me because she was facing the other way, but Agrita took her shoes off and complained .
The shoes she had taken off rolled on the grass .
I was flustered .
âHasâ¦â¦ has she always been like this?â
Of course, the Agrita I knew was only based on the information told in the novel .
But still, how should I put it, hmm, it was quite unexpected?
The book only had lines of her talking and descriptions of her movements but I was pretty sure it wasnât this .
âHer voice is quite similar to how I imagined it though . â
Agritaâs voice was clear and pure .
I knew her voice had nothing to do with her looks but it was just like her looks .
I shook my head to shake off the thoughts of her having an unexpected personality or whatever .
It was unreasonable to be shocked about someone I saw for the first time after reading about in a novel .
âYes . Celebrities are quite different on television and in actuality . â
I didnât know if it was a correct comparison but I just accepted it and started walking again . It was right then .
âWhen can I go back?â
ââ¦â¦â
âI canât even search how to go back on my phone or something . Phew . â
What?
I stopped moving completely .
What did she just say?
âLadyâ¦â¦ Grace . â
âHmm? Huk! Who are you?â
I called out to her while standing there, dazed . Agrita widened her eyes after finally noticing me when I called her name .
Agrita seemed surprised, then covered her mouth hurriedly as if she remembered something .
âAh, could you hear what I was saying? Did you hear?â
âRight nowâ¦â¦ . â
I repeated what I had heard .
âYou said phone . â
âUwah . â
She heard .
Agrita looked at me with an expression that had âshe heardâ written all over it .
