Chapter 1002:
Meanwhile, the office gossipers noticed Harleeâs unusual focus on Dina and began discussing it.
âHey, do you think Miss Sanderson really has it out for Ms. Stones? Most of the names on the list belong to her team!â
âShh, keep it down.
Donât gossip about Ms. Stones.
Be carefulâshe might get you fired! Donât worry, though. Ms. Stones wonât let Miss Sanderson walk all over her. Sheâll stand her ground.â
âSo, does that mean weâre going to see some drama unfold?â
âDonât talk like that. This is a high-level issue, nothing to do with us low-level employees. Stay out of it.â
Just then, a handsome man entered Dinaâs office.
The office gossipers perked up immediately.
Everyone knew him as Cayden Vance, Dinaâs boy toy.
His job was to keep her content. With his less-than-stellar acting skills, he portrayed himself as lovesick, revolving around Dina all day. The group disliked him, finding him overly artificial.
But Dina adored it, constantly bragging about how devoted Cayden was to her.
Cayden pushed the office door open with a sad expression.
âDina, I wonât be able to see you here anymore, will I?â

Dinaâs heart sank upon hearing that. She couldnât bear seeing her young boyfriend upset, so she constantly spent lavishly to make him happy. When he even suggested working with her at the company, she quickly arranged a managerial position for him. Yesterday, he had attended a meeting, though it was the deputy manager who reported in his stead.
Caydenâs only talent was pleasing women.
âDonât worry. The department managerâs position is still yours!â Dina said, caressing his abs before planting a kiss on his lips.
âBaby, I canât bear to be apart from you.â Cayden kissed her back, pulling her into a tight embrace.
âDina, I donât want to leave you eitherâ¦â
Amidst the intimate moment, the phone on Dinaâs desk rang.
Cayden wanted to continue, but Dina pushed him away, hurriedly reaching for the phone.
âMiss Norris.â
âIâve sent you a significant gift to mark the start of our partnership,â Anika replied.
Dina gestured for Cayden to come closer and hold her before asking, âMiss Norris, may I ask what the gift is?â Anika didnât hold back.
âHarlee plans to make cuts, doesnât she? If something goes wrong, she wonât be able to proceed.â
Upon hearing this, Dina draped her arm around Caydenâs neck, her smile widening.
âMiss Norris, are you suggesting a staged suicide?â
Anikaâs dark laugh echoed through the phone.
âI donât deal in fakes.
A real death will be much more exciting.â With that, Anika hung up before Dina could respond.
Upon hearing Anikaâs words, Dina shoved Cayden to the floor again, even stepping on his stomach with her high heels.
