Chapter 1195:
He could dedicate himself to growing wholeheartedly and with unflinching resolve.
Harlee gazed at him, her tears cascading like a relentless stream. This meant that he didnât hate her at all. She had misread him all along.
Her trembling hands reached out, clasping tightly to his back as if anchoring herself to the warmth of this irreplaceable moment.
âDidnât you ask why I was crying?â
âWhat happened?â Rhys tilted his head, his hands grasping her shoulders as he searched for her eyes.
âDid someone hurt you? Just say the word, and Iâll make them regret it!â
Harlee chuckled. Shaking her head, she rested her forehead against his shoulder and whispered, âI was afraid of losing you. I was afraid that⦠you might not want me anymore.â
Her voice grew softer and softer until it was barely a whisper.
The fear had consumed her entirely. The Rhys standing before her wasnât the same man from three years agoâthe one whose entire world revolved around her. She no longer dared to burden him with unreasonable demands.
Rhysâ expression morphed into pure astonishment as her words hit him like a thunderclap.
âWere you crying because of me?â
âYes.â Mustering every ounce of her courage, Harlee cupped his face with trembling hands and locked eyes with the man who had been her lifeline through stormy seas for the past three years.
âItâs because I care about you.â

Whether he held onto all his memories or none of them, he was still the same manâthe one who couldnât bear to let her go. She had been foolish to think otherwise, to separate him into two different people.
Rhys stared into her reddened, tear-streaked eyes, a storm of emotions brewing within him. It was as though a blade had pierced his heart, but instead of agony, something sweeter blossomed in its place. It was happiness.
âIn that case, will youâ¦â Rhys asked.
âI trust you,â Harlee interrupted without hesitation, her eyes shimmering with a newfound determination.
Then, tenderly cupping his face, she leaned in and pressed a brief, soft kiss to his lips. She whispered, her words light as air, âYou are you. I have always believed in you.â
Rhys froze, the kiss igniting a storm of emotions he could no longer contain.
After a long pause, Rhys spoke, his voice thick with sincerity.
âI promise Iâll do everything I can to become the person you fall in love with again.â
Harlee gently shook her head, her tone soft yet resolute.
âNo, you donât have to change for me. Just be yourself. No matter who you become, my love for you will never fade.â
Her words sent a jolt of warmth through Rhysâ chest, his heart thundering so fiercely that he thought it might leap from his ribcage.
He was so happy.
At that moment, only one thought filled his mind.
He gazed at her lips, swallowing hard. With a deep breath, he asked, âDo you want to watch the sunrise with me?â
