Chapter 1266:
Rhys embraced her tightly, his eyes sparkling with happiness. He too was filled with excitement for their future child.
The following morning, breakfast was served at the Sanderson family home. The entire family, except for Harlee, was buzzing with excitement about her pregnancy, having stayed awake all night in anticipation.
Today, Harlee opted for a light gray coat and her hair neatly secured with a clip. She appeared downstairs in the dining room, makeup-free, phone in hand, with no outward signs of her pregnancy.
In the living room, Kareem was fighting off sleep, his head bobbing up and down, dark circles under his eyes as stark as a pandaâs. He had made a hurried return from the military camp the previous night after learning of Harleeâs pregnancy, drained from two days of relentless combat training.
Upon seeing Harlee descend the stairs, Kareem instantly brightened. âHarlee, youâre up early. Wouldnât you rather get some more sleep?â Harlee, surprised by Kareemâs presence, wasnât expecting him. âKareem, arenât you supposed to be in training? How did you manage to get away?â she asked, astonished.
âGood morning, Harlee.â Before Kareem could continue, a charming voice interrupted from behind him.
Turning toward the voice, Harlee saw Clint, fully equipped and masked, approaching with his manager and two assistants.

âClint? What brings you here?â Still groggy, Harlee hadnât yet realized her brothers had hurried back due to her pregnancy news.
Clint casually draped an arm around her shoulders, his laughter low. âI just had to come and see you!â
Only then did Harlee grasp their concern, offering a silent thumbs-up. To an outsider, it might seem as though it was their wives who were pregnant.
âKareem, those dark circles. Did you hurry back overnight?â Clint asked, his frown deepening. âYouâre crazy. I just flew in this morning! You rarely make it home, and now youâve even beaten me here!â
Clint huffed. Kareemâs hasty return made him look as if he was less eagerly anticipating Harleeâs baby.
With an affectionate smile, Kareem looked at Harlee. âThis is Harleeâs first baby. I had to come quickly.â
Harlee was left speechless. She was merely pregnant, not yet in labor. âKareem, Clint, donât you think youâre overreacting? Iâm just a month along, and here you are acting as if the babyâs due any minute.â Harlee looked at them, quietly questioning if she was the only one reacting reasonably to her pregnancy.
âWhereâs Rhys?â Clint shifted the conversation.
âHe had to handle some overseas business and left early today.â Harlee then asked, âKareem, Clint, have you had breakfast? Iâm a bit hungry.â The moment she mentioned hunger, they escorted her into the dining room from both sides.
Harlee attempted to decline their assistance but was overwhelmed by their lengthy persuasion. Eventually, she relented. If it brought them joy, she would go along.
In a small shop down a secluded alley, sunbeams pierced through the kitchenâs glass windows, illuminating the tidy space. The owner, having completed his morning preparations, stretched and readied himself to open his shop.
