Chapter 1351:
âOkay, I understand.â Harlee nodded, her gaze shifting to Rhys. She said softly, âHe might be hurt as well. Bandage him up.â
While speaking to Serena, Harlee suddenly felt herself being lifted. She looked at Rhys in astonishment. He still had enough strength to carry her after all that had happened?
Rhys held Harlee securely, his expression stoic as he addressed Patrick, âTake care of everything here.â
âYes!â Patrick responded promptly. âRhys, please get Harlee to the hospital quickly. And take Serena with you.â
âOkay,â Rhys responded coldly, signaling Serena to follow with a nod. He then strode out of the chaotic scene without a backward glance.
Rhys swiftly carried Harlee to the RV, setting a pace that forced Serena to jog to keep up.
As Harlee clung to his neck, she tried to ease his worry, saying, âSerena has already bandaged me. The wounds arenât hurting now, so you can slow down.â
But Rhys didnât respond, his face set in a stern expression as he quickened his steps, entering the RV and gently laying her down on the small bed inside.

Serena was about to follow them into the RV when the door slammed shut with a loud bang, and Rhys drew all the curtains closed, obscuring any view inside.
Serena hesitantly retracted her foot and stepped back. She realized that stopping Rhys was beyond her power.
Exhausted from her ordeal in the trap-filled maze, Harlee struggled to sit up. When she looked up, her eyes locked with Rhysâ. Sensing the tension, she instinctively scooted back and let out a nervous laugh. âWhat are you doing? Why did you close all the curtains?â
Rhys moved closer with a smile, saying, âWhat do you think Iâm going to do?â
Harleeâs breath caught as she edged further into the corner of the bed.
Rhys leaned in, bracing himself with his hands on either side of her on the bed. âWhereâs that fearless spirit now? Why are you hiding? Why did you take such a risk just now?â
At his questions, Harlee sat on the bed, lifting her arms to wrap them around his neck. With a teasing, flirtatious smile, she said, âI was just trying to save you back then! You were the sole thought in my mind, and I forgot to be scaredâ¦â
âIâm not falling for that now!â Rhys cut her off sharply, leaning in even closer. âYou took such a risk while carrying our child. If you werenât pregnant, would you have jumped back with me?â
âI did it to save you!â Harlee retorted, her expression earnest. âIf I hadnât broken through the barrier from the outside, you wouldnât have had a way out. Tell me, should I have just watched you die? Or do you want me to live in this world alone, overwhelmed by guilt and misery?â
âThatâs not what I meant.â Rhys felt a surge of panic when he noticed Harleeâs anger.
âSo, what are you trying to say?â Harlee folded her arms, giving him a cold stare.
Rhys found himself at a loss for words. He had only wanted to make her see the dangers of her actions to prevent her from risking her safety again, but now he was the one being blamed? However, he knew better than to argue when it came to his wife. Whenever she was angry, everything she said was right, and everything he said was wrong. âIâm sorry, honey. I was wrong,â Rhys responded quickly.
Harleeâs lips pouted in discontent. âAnd what exactly were you wrong about?â
What was he wrong about? Rhys didnât even know. He scratched his head, inching backward. âUh, I was wrong aboutâ¦â Rhys, the business magnate famous for shaking up the market, found himself at a loss again. He couldnât understand why, as they were settling the score, everything had suddenly turned against him.
