Chapter 1452:
Harlee gazed at Rhys, her smile widening.
âAlright, just be careful.â
Her smile held a hidden meaning. Was Rhys going off to do something secret behind her back? That wasnât ideal, but since she planned to keep her own secrets as well, they were even.
âAlright,â Rhys responded in a quiet tone.
âIâll return as soon as possible. Donât strain yourself. Let Patrick and the others take care of anything you need.â
Rhys was frustrated. He had hoped to spend more time with Harlee during her postpartum recovery, but now urgent matters demanded his attention. The desire to lash out was strong.
Harlee made no committed response to his words, her smile merely broadening.
âGo ahead.â
Harlee got up and embraced Rhys tightly, waving.
Rhys checked the time, kissed Harleeâs forehead again, and hesitated before he finally walked away.
Rhys paused at the door, exchanging a meaningful glance with Patrick and Cillian. Their years of working together allowed a single look to convey the urgency of the issue in Claelia.
Inside the vehicle, as Cillian sat in the passenger seat, he looked back and asked, âMr. Green, is there trouble with the Happer family?â Rhysâ eyes were sharp, and his frosty demeanor seemed to chill the air inside the car.

âOaklee needs to get to Claelia right away. Nola has interfered with our arrangements with Casper.â
Hearing this, Patrick was almost ready to roll his eyes. Casper was playing a dangerous gameâtrying to gain from both ends, which could very well lead to his downfall. No wonder Casperâs father was hesitant to trust him with the entire estate.
Patrick frowned and voiced his thoughts.
âMr. Green, I canât believe Casper is this foolishly greedy. Heâs gained so much from working with us, yet he still schemes.â
At this, Rhys let out a short, mocking laugh, his face expressionless.
âWe have other options within the Happer family. Since Casper isnât obedient, weâll replace him with someone who will.â
Patrick remained silent after that. Casperâs decision to align with Nola against Harlee had been a challenge to Rhysâ patience. Originally, with Rhysâ support, Casper could have steadily climbed to the head of the Happer family. But now, he was getting exactly what he deserved.
Patrick knew that Rhysâ urgent trip to Claelia meant collaborating with Oaklee to decisively handle Casper. With this, Casper would have no chance of making a comeback.
Cillian sat quietly in the passenger seat, still and composed like a blade resting in Rhysâ hand. He would remain inactive until there was a need for his intervention.
In complete silence, the trio arrived at the airport. Patrick and Cillian watched Rhys board the plane, after which Patrick drove them back to Remson Manor.
Upon entering the house, Patrick immediately saw Harlee seated comfortably on the living room sofa, casually cleaning her handgun while absorbed in a television show.
Patrick and Cillian made their way over to her, with Patrick leading the conversation.
âRhys has boarded his flight.â
Setting her gun aside gently, Harlee looked up at them, a knowing half-smile playing on her lips. She said nothing, but her imposing presence was undeniable.
