Chapter 1493:
Tiffany made a firm decision not to see herself as lesser anymore. She affirmed her belief in her own worth, equal to anyone elseâs.
Harlee didnât head straight home after her day out. She made a detour to a beverage store near Baythorn University, where she picked up a strawberry-flavored drink.
As Harlee exited the shop, she took a satisfying gulp, savoring the taste. Suddenly, she paused, her eyes narrowing with a deeper intensity.
She casually sipped her drink, allowing a sly smile to creep across her face. With an air of nonchalance, she made her way toward the alley leading to Baythorn University.
Not far from her, four men with suspicious expressions were keeping a close watch on Harlee. One wore a hat and mask, anotherâs face was obscured by his long hair. The third had a scarred face that concealed his features, while the fourth was completely bald. Their attire was uniformly black.
The man with the scarred face, Trenton Archer, kept his eyes fixed on Harlee and whispered to the others, âWeâve been trailing her for a while. Nowâs our chance to make a move. Follow my lead. We need to capture her alive, as instructed by our employer. If we succeed, weâll each earn an extra million dollars.â
The man with long hair clapped his hands together in anticipation. Theyâd already received five million dollars. With an additional million as a bonus, he would be able to recover.
âTrenton, weâve really struck gold this time!â He chuckled greedily but with a hint of caution.
âBut do you think sheâs really worth all this money just because sheâs connected to Tiffany, the famous actress? Could there be any problems?â

The bald man smacked him on the head.
âWhat do you know? Havenât you noticed how stunning that woman is? Sheâs probably worth more than what weâre being paid!â
The man in the mask and hat grinned suggestively.
âThen, if we were to⦠wouldnât we stand to profit even more?â
Trenton, the leader of the four, slapped him sharply.
âIf we donât stick to what the employer has ordered, weâll end up blacklisted. Keep your eyes open. By doing this right, we secure good money.â
The man with the long hair, revealing small, eager eyes, nodded in agreement.
âExactly. Trentonâs right. Letâs stick to his plan.â
The masked man nodded reluctantly, though resentment lingered in his gaze.
Only Trenton had access to firearms, or else the masked man might have already taken matters into his own hands. He harbored greater ambitions.
Trenton was well aware of what the man in the mask was plotting, but among the four, his skills in marksmanship and combat were unmatched. Without his expertise, their mission would likely fail.
To the four, Harlee seemed nothing more than a harmless, attractive woman, yet they opted for caution.
âEveryone, be quiet!â Trenton commanded in a grave tone.
âMove out. Stick to my plan. Weâll follow her initially, and once the alley is clear, weâll incapacitate her and whisk her away. Our team is positioned close by. Thereâs no need for a sack. We can directly shove her into the car.â
The man with long hair interjected, âAfterward, weâll leave her at the deserted factory on the outskirts, collect our payment, and then escape abroad to avoid any trouble.â
Having laid out their strategy, the four picked up their pace and trailed behind Harlee.
Three minutes later, Trenton exchanged a glance with the bald man, and they surged forward to seize Harlee by the arm.
Suddenly, Harlee vanished into thin air right before their eyes.
The man in the mask, terrified of supernatural occurrences, stepped back abruptly.
