Chapter 1530:
âSince neither of you seems serious about negotiating, weâll reconvene another day.â
With that, Rhys stood and walked out, leaving the two factions exchanging bewildered looks.
Once outside, Brixton exhaled sharply, his nerves frayed.
âRhys, are you sure itâs okay to leave like this?â
Rhys glanced at Brixton but didnât respond. If this could be resolved so easily, he wouldnât have bothered making the trip. Both the military and government were clearly plotting to edge him out of the deal and take the project for themselves. The nerve of them scheming against him! Since they wanted to play games, heâd show them he could play better. Letting them off without a fight wasnât his style.
On the training grounds of the central military base, Kareemâs adjutant had been waiting patiently.
Upon Harleeâs arrival, the adjutant walked over and said, âMs. Sanderson, the Major General regrets he canât assist you at the moment. Heâs busy preparing for the heads-of-state visit to Mogluylia in two months. But rest assured, heâs already made the necessary arrangements. Youâre in charge of this training, and no one has the authority to challenge that.â
Harlee nodded slightly, her gaze drifting toward the soldiers sprawled on the lawn, exhausted from their drills.
The adjutant caught on and continued, âSince your departure yesterday, theyâve been training without rest, except for meals and three hours of sleep. Shall we check on them now?â

Harlee gave a curt nod, lowering her eyes briefly to send a message to Rhys.
Harlee and the others then took a cautious approach toward the area where the twenty soldiers were training. Harlee stood in the same spot as yesterday, arms crossed, her expression nonchalant.
Harlee lowered her eyes, glancing at the twenty soldiers who had been rather enthusiastic yesterday but were now absolutely fatigued and sprawled on the training groundâs lawn. It was March, but everyone was soaked in sweat.
Thiago and Alina stood just behind Harlee, their expressions unreadable. Theyâd been through Harleeâs training themselves and knew this was just a warm-up in her book.
The adjutant remained silent, leaving it to the soldiers to notice Harleeâs arrival. Lionel, barely catching his breath, was the first to spot her. His eyes widened, and he shouted, âMs. Sanderson!â
The others, hearing his voice, scrambled to their feet, shouting in unison, âMs. Sanderson!â
Every face was lit with relief and hope.
Lionel stepped forward, his voice loud and firm.
âMs. Sanderson, we know weâre not worthy of your mentorship yet, but please believe usâweâll give everything weâve got to demonstrate our strength.â
Other soldiers quickly followed suit, saluting as they bellowed, âMs. Sanderson, trust us! Weâll be the best soldiers under your command!â Every face displayed a strong determination.
Thiago and Alina exchanged a look, their sympathy evident. Having trained under Harlee, they knew what was coming. These soldiers had no idea what theyâd signed up for.
Harlee narrowed her eyes, her gaze sweeping over their determined faces. A faint smirk played on her lips.
âThe training will last three months. Pack your things. We leave this afternoon.â
âYes!â their voices thundered, excitement surging through them. Harlee turned slightly, gesturing toward Thiago and Alina.
âThese two will be your squad leaders.â
