Chapter 1730:
âWhat do you plan to do, Errol?â Harlee asked, blocking his angry gaze with a cold tone.
Errol, his expression livid and nursing his sore wrist, knew he was outnumbered.
âWhat do I plan to do? What else can I do? Professor Moreno, since you and your grandson donât welcome me, Iâll leave. But remember this day. Youâll need to offer a sincere apology, or watch your back.â
Harlee clicked her tongue, turned away, and sat back down, dismissing Errolâs threat as if it were nothing more than bluster.
The chill from Errolâs words lingered, yet as the guests watched Harleeâs nonchalant demeanor, they couldnât help but find the humor in the situation, as if Errolâs threat was indeed just an empty boast.
Errol, supported by Moshe, left the banquet. He had hoped to sway the guests against Lexus and incite them to leave as well, but considering Harleeâs formidable reputation, he decided against it. Sometimes, patience was the wiser strategy. He was confident that with careful planning, he could make Harlee pay.
Nola had already slipped away amidst the commotion, eager to avoid any association with Errolâs disgrace.
After the Happer familyâs departure, the banquet quickly regained its lively atmosphere, thanks to Harlee urging Jianna and others to keep the party going. A banquet, after all, should be lively and fun!
The banquet lasted two more hours, leaving Rhys secluded on the second floor for the duration.
As the event wrapped up, Harlee helped Edward, Matthew, and Lexus to their cars and then turned back, leaning against the hotel entrance with casual grace, her lips curved in a soft smile.

âArenât you coming out yet?â
At her call, Rhys emerged, his expression intense. He rested his head gently on Harleeâs shoulder, his hand lingering at her waist, and spoke with a touch of vulnerability.
âLee, am I that embarrassing?â
Patrick muttered, âIâm heading to the restroom.â
Robbie chimed in, âAh, Iâll bring the car around.â
Cillian added, âIâll go with you.â
One by one, their friends found reasons to leave. This was no joke! No one dared linger during Rhysâ tender displays, as the consequences could be dire. Outside the hotel, Rhysâ imposing figure leaned into Harlee, his hand securely on her waist. His voice was low and husky.
Harlee reached up to stroke his hair, her face brushing against his. She then cradled his face in her hands, her smile radiant.
âNo, youâre so wonderful that I wish I could keep you all to myself.â
After her words, Harlee held Rhysâ face, stood on her tiptoes, and gently kissed him.
As she began to pull away, Rhysâ hand gently pressed against the back of her head. He leaned in, pinning her softly against the wall, and deepened their kiss into one filled with passion.
Harlee melted into the embrace, resting in his arms and feeling the rhythm of his heartbeat against hers, savoring the warmth of his body.
âThere are too many people here,â she whispered, her voice carrying a hint of allure.
Rhys, feeling a tightening in his throat from the intensity of the moment, looked into Harleeâs captivating eyes. His hand remained at her waist as he murmured with a mixture of frustration and desire, âYou love to stir me up, but you never help me out!â
With a playful smile, Harlee tapped his chest lightly, her voice teasing as she replied, âOh? Do you have a problem with that?â
After her taunt, she gently pushed him back, stepped out of his embrace, and playfully blocked his advance.
