Chapter 19:
âJump for me just once.
Capture it in photos and videos.â
Harlee felt the urge to turn him down.
But Nathaniel went on.
âIâm nearing the end of my years. Miss Sanderson, I get you donât wish to be part of my family, but could you grant me this one small favor?â
Nathaniel shifted his gaze to Rhys with a look that seemed to say, âConvince Miss Sanderson, or what good are you?â
Rhys let out a sigh and then leaned in closer to Harlee, speaking in a low voice.
âHow about an extra twenty million?â
His warm breath grazed her ear and neck, sending an unexpected shiver through her.
Harlee quickly took a step back, locking eyes with Rhys.
His expression was a mix of exasperation and silent pleading.
Meanwhile, Nathaniel looked even more pitiful, his eyes misting up as he waited.
âOkay.â Harlee gave in.
After all, it was twenty million.
Nathaniel broke into a delighted grin, immediately instructing the nurse to send them the location.
As Nathaniel watched Harlee and Rhys leave, he turned with a spring in his step, telling the nurse to bring him the latest company reports.
With his grandson off on this date, Nathaniel was happy to handle the business for the day.

He now looked remarkably energetic, with no sign of his previous frailty.
The nurse, looking a bit confused, spoke up.
âMr. Green, I donât remember you ever reserving bungee jumping tickets.â
This nurse was more than just a caretakerâshe had served as Nathanielâs personal assistant for years. Nathaniel had once been a fan of bungee jumping, but that was before he had taken over the family business. Since then, the thrill-seeking hobby had fallen by the wayside.
âYou just donât get it,â Nathaniel replied with a knowing grin.
âBungee jumping is all about that rush, right at the peak of excitement, and thatâs when romance sparks!â With those words, the nurse suddenly saw the whole plan.
âYouâre brilliant, Mr. Green!â
Meanwhile, Harlee and Rhys reached the bungee jumping site, ready to fulfill Nathanielâs unusual request. The bungee site was tucked away in the suburbs, surrounded by towering mountains. The jump platform stood at the highest peak, offering a breathtaking view of a sparkling lake below.
Directly beneath, a small fishing boat waited at the center of the lake, marking the landing point.
The place buzzed with adrenaline-seekers, so Harlee and Rhys had to wait for their turn. When they finally stepped onto the platform, Harlee noticed it was specially designed for couples to jump together.
Rhys, who seemed unfamiliar with the setup, noticed her pause.
