Chapter 418:
His expression softened.
âIs everything taken care of?â
It was ten in the morning in Mogluylia, but evening in Uwhor.
Harlee, lounging casually on her bed, winked and responded, âAlmost. Iâll be back in a day or two.â
Rhys paused briefly, his eyes twinkling with joy, his tone affectionate.
âAlright, Iâll be there to pick you up.â
Everyone around Rhys was stunned. They struggled to believe what they had just seen. Rhys had actually smiled?
On the other side, Harlee seemed to sense something. She raised her eyebrow and asked, âAre you in a meeting?â
Upon hearing this, Rhys glanced around at the attendees.
âYes, but weâve just finished.â
Hamilton, who was in the middle of drinking water, nearly choked on hearing âweâve just finished,â and everyone else inhaled sharply. The meeting had only started ten minutes ago.
How could Rhys lie so casually?
Patrick, already used to this, calmly patted Hamiltonâs shoulder, signaling him to relax. Perhaps Rhys would call the meeting over soon.
As soon as the thought crossed Patrickâs mind, Rhys waved his hand, signaling a pause in the meeting, and then casually walked out of the conference room.

Everyone was left dumbfounded again, bewildered by the abrupt end. Just moments before, Rhys had been critiquing their work sharply, and now he had abruptly suspended the session. It felt almost unreal.
After leaving the conference room, Rhys engaged in light conversation with Harlee, doing most of the talking while Harlee listened. Patrick and Hamilton, following behind, exchanged looks of astonishment, both recognizing the surprise in each otherâs expressions.
This was the first time they had ever heard Rhys speak so much! Even someone as proud and powerful as Rhys couldnât avoid the obvious signs of being in love, endlessly chatting on the phone.
Having been through multiple relationships themselves, Patrick and Hamilton could completely relate. It was just that this side of Rhys didnât quite align with his usual demeanor.
Half an hour into their chat, Harlee let out a soft yawn. Rhys raised an eyebrow and asked, âFeeling tired?â Hugging a stuffed toy, Harlee twisted her wrist and responded leisurely, âYeah, I had quite a workout today.â After a long day of physical activity, her arms hurt with soreness.
As Rhys listened to her gentle breathing, he laughed lightly and said, âGet some rest. Iâll call you again tomorrow.â
Harlee murmured a âOkay,â and just before disconnecting, she caught Rhysâ resonant, clear voice.
âI miss you.â At those words, Harleeâs smile broadened, and she replied in a tender, lingering tone, âThen youâre allowed to miss me. Take your time.
Goodbye.â
As the call disconnected, Rhys chuckled to himself.
He was allowed to miss her? And she instructed him to take his time? Only she would utter such words to him. Well, he could indeed take his time. They had all the time in the world ahead of them.
