Chapter 428:

Rhys, previously engrossed in stock market trends, shifted his focus sharply at the mention of Harlee.

“Clear my schedule for today.”

“Understood.” Without seeking further explanation, Hamilton promptly began to reschedule.

Rhys quickly accessed his email and reviewed Matteo’s profile.

“Begin planning and secure a new partner for the Uwhor project.

Additionally, take down two of Matteo’s gangs and have Bart Glyn handle the operation.”

“Right away!” Hamilton replied.

“The projects impacted by the Sanderson family’s hostile actions are back on track. Nevertheless, the Sanderson family continues to ignore any dealings or collaborations with the Green family.”

Rhys responded in an even tone, showing no emotion.

“I understand.” It was clear that Nathaniel’s advice was spot on.

He needed to intensify his efforts to gain favor with her family.

After tending to several urgent matters, Rhys glanced at the clock, noting there were less than two hours until Harlee’s plane landed.

He promptly left for the airport.

Rhys’ car raced down the road, exhaust fumes drifting into the cold air, leaving a misty trail against the snowy landscape.

This winter had come earlier than expected. Snow began to fall once more, gently but enough to create a panoramic scene. Upon returning to Baythorn, Rhys was surprised to discover that the first snowfall had come on the same day Harlee and he had gotten together.

Although he had never been particularly fond of snow, today, as he admired the snowy landscape, he found himself with a newfound appreciation for it, as if the snow itself were joining in the celebration of their impending reunion.

The drive to the airport from the Green Group office took just over thirty minutes, but Rhys found himself waiting at the airport for nearly two hours. The complexities involving Matteo and Hale remained unresolved.

As Harlee walked through the airport, she transmitted the documents and strategies she had organized during her flight directly to the Shadow Moon Society’s dedicated app. Opting against the VIP exit, Harlee preferred to merge into the bustling crowd, curious to see if she could catch a glimpse of Rhys.

Moments later, after clearing security, Harlee stepped into the arrivals hall and instantly spotted Rhys. She had intended to run over to him, but in her moment of hesitation, he was already rushing toward her. Snatching her backpack from her right hand, Rhys clasped her hand firmly.

Harlee’s lips curled into a playful smile.

“I half expected you to sweep me off my feet in your rush,” she said jokingly.

Rhys paused, slightly taken aback.

“You prefer that way?” He had held back from embracing her too enthusiastically, worried it might be too much for her.

“No, that’s a bit too dramatic for me.”

Rhys shrugged off his coat and draped it around her, his tone soft and caring.

“It’s started to snow outside. It’s quite cold.”

Harlee nodded in agreement.
