Chapter 444:
A short distance away, Lindsay sat with her fists balled so tightly that her knuckles whitened. That idiot! Her plan had been for Kelley to ruin Harlee during the live broadcast, but the tables had turned quickly with Kelley being the one unmasked. She had always known Kelley wasnât the sharpest, but this was beyond foolish!
Seething, Lindsay made her exit. She didnât want the attention to shift to her. Public humiliation was out of the question. Luckily, she had kept her association with the Morgan family under wraps. Kelley could never drag her down.
Kelley, celebrated for her dramatic talents, deftly changed her approach. The moment Harlee revealed the microphone, Kelleyâs face crumpled into a portrayal of deep distress, her features twisted in apparent victimhood.
âOh no, this cannot be happening!â Kelley exclaimed, her hand flying to her mouth in feigned shock.
âIs it possible that someone is trying to ruin my relationship with Clint?â Her eyes shimmered with manufactured tears, suggesting remorse as if she had merely stumbled into a common, forgivable error.
âI am so sorry, truly. I was completely unaware.â
Turning toward Harlee with a quivering voice, Kelley continued, âDid you push me because of this? If thatâs the case, Iâm willing to forgive you.â
Around Kelley, murmurs floated, but she dismissed the notion that the modestly dressed Harlee could be tied to the influential Sanderson family.
Earlier, upon Skylaâs departure, Harlee had asked Tiffany to remove her pearl necklace. Kelley mistakenly believed Harlee felt humiliated by the fake jewelry and had discarded it to avoid embarrassment at the high-profile event.

Tiffany, still seething with anger, fixed her glare on Kelley.
âIt was clear as day that you tripped over your own feet and then pointed the finger at Harlee!â
Despite being exposed, Kelley maintained her poise, gently shaking her head as if wronged.
âI get that youâre sticking up for your friend, but distorting the truth?â Kelley then looked at Clint, her voice quivering with apparent distress.
âWhat about you, Clint? Do you believe Iâm falsely accusing her?â
Having dashed back after bidding farewell to her guests, Spheredale felt her anger surge at the sight of the unfolding drama.
Before she arrived, she had verified with the staff that this area was a blind spot for the cameras. No footage existed of Kelleyâs alleged fall.
Boiling with rage, Spheredale quickly clarified the situation just as Clint was about to respond.
A stern expression shadowed Clintâs features.
He felt it was time to end Kelleyâs career in showbiz.
Harlee scoffed, casually retrieving her phone. She looked at Kelley, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
âSo, why exactly did I push you?â
Their eyes intertwined, causing Kelley to falter, her words jittering with unease.
âB-because I called Clint âdear.â Isnât that why youâre upsetâ¦?â
Laughter escaped Harleeâs lips, light and disbelieving. If Kelley had hurled a grave accusation at her, something as severe as an illicit romance with Clint, then maybe, just maybe, Harlee would have given Kelleyâs words weight.
But this? It was almost comical.
