Chapter 483:
âMom, youâll support me, wonât you? And my biological dad⦠heâll back us up too, right?â
Lillie gave a solemn nod, her voice steady.
âYour father is still in Claelia. Once heâs finished with his business, heâll join us in our quest for vengeance.â
Angelaâs delicate features darkened, a sinister shadow overtaking her once gentle expression.
Her eyes burned with cold fury, her lips curling into a bitter smile.
âI will make sure the Brooks family, the Hilton family, and Harlee pay dearly! None of them will ever see a happy ending!â she spat, her voice dripping with malice.
In Uwhor, Matteoâs face twisted with annoyance as he barked at Hale, âYou were supposed to safeguard our site from Harleeâs intrusions, not busy yourself with setting up some useless forum!â
Hale remained cool, his expression detached.
âWhat madness are you still on about? Harleeâs got a boyfriend now, a man whose complexity is beyond our understanding. Youâre putting our crew at risk, meddling in her life like some lovesick third wheel. What the hell is wrong with you?â Matteo hissed.
In a slow, unconcerned voice, Hale remarked, âMatteo, youâve got it all wrong. She and that man havenât even announced anything official.â
Matteoâs expression stiffened, disbelief creeping into his gaze.
âThey havenât made it official? Are you certain?â

âAbsolutely,â Hale retorted, slouching deeper into the sofa with a smug look.
âI found out through the very forum you just dismissed. I left some bait there.â
Embarrassment hardened Matteoâs features, but he persisted.
âEven so, remember this. Youâre nothing to Harlee. Unless she loses her memory, you two will never be together!â
Hale shrugged indifferently, his voice steady.
âThatâs exactly the scenario Iâm counting on.â
Meeting Haleâs steady gaze, Matteo searched for any sign of jest. When none came, his expression turned to one of sheer disbelief, realizing Hale was dead serious.
âYouâve lost your mind, truly lost itâ¦â
A sharp glint of iciness flashed in Haleâs eyes as he fixed his stare on Matteo, his expression dripping with contempt. Matteo felt a shadow pass over his gaze.
He had always believed he held his half-brother firmly under his thumb. Yet, in this moment, doubt crept in. Matteo realized he might need to tighten his grip. The Forsaken, one of his key gangs, could not fall apart because of Hale!
Harlee was lost in a dream.
She found herself in a frigid, snow-blanketed landscape, where distant echoes of laughter and visions of a joyful family played like a far-off melody. She shrank into herself, curling tightly on a small, isolated slide, as though clinging to the last thread of her existence.
Out of nowhere, a young boy appeared beside her.
He removed his coat and gently draped it over her, his body heat slowly rekindling her fading spirit.
