Chapter 826:
âEtta, youâd better not get yourself involved in Haleâs schemesâ¦
Donât let me down,â Harlee inwardly thought.
Having sent Tonya off earlier, Harlee was now alone in the expansive suite.
Etta acted shocked, her hand covering her mouth.
âOh, Harlee, youâre still not dressed for the evening? The banquet hall upstairs is bustling, and Belinda and Skyla are already mingling.â
Harlee raised her eyes lazily.
âNo hurry. Iâll get ready when Tonya gets back.â
Etta looked down, her eyelashes fluttering nervously. In the absence of Tonya and Rhys, wasnât this her chance to make a move?
Etta approached Harlee, masking her true intentions with a friendly smile.
âHarlee, we shouldnât wait for the right moment to come to us.
How about I assist you with your gown?â
Harlee gazed intently at Etta for what seemed an eternity, her look so piercing that Etta began to squirm with unease.
âYouâll help me get dressed?â Harlee finally broke the silence, her lips curling into a subtle smile.
âSure.â
Etta was momentarily stunned. She hadnât anticipated Harleeâs straightforward consent.

Etta reasoned perhaps Harlee was just concerned about missing the right moment, which alleviated her initial apprehensions. Lindsay had advised Etta to make her move when Harlee was on her own.
Etta had spent the whole morning puzzling over when that would be. To Ettaâs surprise, she found Harlee by herself as soon as she walked in.
Although it baffled her, she knew she couldnât dwell on it too long. Such opportunities didnât come often.
From Ettaâs restrained gestures, Harlee immediately pinpointed her as the agent sent by Hale. Immediately, Harlee typed a quick update into their group chat, saying, âThe agent is now in play.â Following this, she uploaded Ettaâs image to the group chat. Upon seeing the message, Tonya was prepared to intervene, but Harlee instructed her to hold back.
âNo need to rush. Letâs monitor her actions from here. Remain outside.â
Acknowledging the instructions, Tonya typed, âUnderstood. Robbie and I will stay put, while Ritchie tracks Hale.â
Having regained her composure in the restroom, Etta returned looking more assured, with a calm demeanor and no outward signs of stress. Once settled, Etta gently touched the sofa cushion near Harlee, suggesting, âHarlee, would you like assistance with your gown?â
With a subtle nod, Harlee stood and headed toward the hotelâs lavishly decorated dressing room. Inside, Harlee turned to Etta, saying, âIâm not comfortable being watched while I change.â
Quick to adapt, Etta replied, âThen Iâll step out until youâre done.â Harlee quickly slipped into her gown and returned in just five minutes.
During that short interval, Harlee covertly observed Etta, noting her hasty retreat, which only intensified the coolness in Harleeâs gaze.
Etta was visibly stunned by Harleeâs transformation into the vintage gown.
Harlee was an embodiment of classical beauty, radiating elegance, playfulness, and gentleness, an amalgamation of all positive attributes one could imagine.
