Chapter 89:
âMom, Harlee slapped me! She actually dared to hit me!â Lilianaâs hands trembled as she touched her tender cheeks, her eyes brimming with tears.
âI will make her regret this. Iâll make her pay!â
Valentina wrapped an arm around her daughter, her mind already weaving a web of retribution.
âDonât worry, my dear. She wonât get away with hurting you. Weâll have our revenge.â
Etta hid in the corner, her eyes smoldering with deep-seated anger as she observed everything. She had intentionally spread the news of Harleeâs return to the Sanderson family to Liliana, hoping Liliana could make things difficult for Harlee. To her surprise, that useless Liliana had instead been outwitted and handled by Harlee!
With only two days left before confronting the pythons as per Harleeâs previous request, Etta was relentless in her plan to destroy Harleeâs good name.
Etta believed that if Brixton Torres, the owner of the Galaxy Bar where Liliana frequented in her leisure time, agreed to target Harlee, Harleeâs reputation would be destroyed for sure.
With this strategy in mind, Etta started crafting a message to Liliana.
Etta smirked, reveling in her imaginary success of the schemes.
Even though Harlee had returned and was officially acknowledged as the rightful heiress of the Sanderson family, that didnât matter.
As soon as Harlee was removed from the picture by her, she would take that place!
In the CEOâs office of Green Group, Rhys, dressed in a custom-made black suit, stood next to the floor-to-ceiling window.
His expression was serious, and his well-defined features looked even more formidable due to his knitted brows.

Hamilton, positioned behind Rhys, was so tense that he held his breath, worried about irritating his superior. The last thing he wanted was a punishment for his mishaps.
After about fifteen minutes, Rhys made a gesture as if to say something.
Hamilton, perceiving this, quickly handed Rhys a pack of cigarettes.
As Rhys selected one, Hamilton flicked his lighter on for Rhys. Rhys looked out at the calm sea and took a long inhale, his thoughts enveloped in an unusual sadness.
Suddenly, Rhys spun around, causing Hamilton to almost drop the lighter in shock.
âYouâ¦â Rhys hesitated.
âIs there something urgent that needs my attention?â Hamiltonâs voice was tight.
âHave you ever chased a woman?â Rhys asked.
Hamilton was taken aback.
Chased a woman? At his age, it would be more surprising if he hadnât. Still, he didnât dare to joke with Rhys. Instead, he replied honestly, âI did, back in school. Mr. Green, why are you asking me this all of a sudden?â
Rhys paused to reflect for a moment and then asked, âWere you successful?â
Hamilton scratched his chin as he recalled.
âI suppose I did.â Then, sensing he needed to be more specific, he added, âIt was during my university years. She was two years ahead of me, and it took me six months to win her heart. Sadly, two weeks after we became a couple, she was accepted to a university overseas, and that ended our relationship. Mr. Green, why this sudden interest in my romantic history?â
