Chapter 918:
Belinda beamed.
âAlright, settle down, you two. No more quarreling.
Dinnerâs ready.â
In the last three years, with Harleeâs help in smoothing things over, the relationship between Nathaniel, Jose, and Belinda had grown more peaceful, and the Green household began to feel like a true home.
Not wanting Harlee to go hungry, Nathaniel urged her to eat first.
Belinda had long treated Harlee as if she were her own child, consistently offering her food and speaking to her with warmth.
Joseâs view of Harlee had shifted since the day she became part of the Green family. Initially, he had bought into the gossip spread by Hale, believing that Harlee was causing division and would tear the family apart.
However, over time, her integrity and the bravery she showed by marrying into the Green family won his respect, and he began to consider her one of his own.
Still, Jose wasnât good with words, often uttering simple phrases like, âLook after yourself,â
âDonât overwork,â and âIf you need help, just come to me.â
During the meal, Nathaniel refrained from lecturing like he once did, and the mood at the table was light and relaxed.
After dinner, the four of them moved to the living room to chitchat. Nathaniel suggested, âHow nice it is to set up the chessboard and enjoy a game.â He glanced at Harlee, silently extending an invitation.
Harlee responded with a clear look, signaling that she wasnât interested.

Nathanielâs expression shifted. Just as he was about to try convincing Harlee to play, she suddenly said, âRhys is back.â
Her statement startled the others.
Without hesitation, Harlee continued, âI saw him by the restaurant entrance yesterday.
He was with a girlfriendâ¦â
Before she could finish, Nathanielâs angry voice boomed, âGirlfriend? That couldnât be Rhys! It must have been someone who underwent surgery to look like him!â
Belinda chimed in, âExactly, if Rhys hadnâtâ¦
âLost his memory? He would have come to find you first, Harlee.
Do you think you might have been mistaken yesterday?â Frowning, Jose said thoughtfully, âHarlee has sharp eyes, so itâs unlikely she made a mistake.
But there could be some misunderstanding, or maybe Rhys has lost his memory?â
Harlee had anticipated their reactions. She took a deep breath and responded calmly, âHe hasnât lost his memory.â Harlee sighed. Rhys had simply moved on and left her behind.
The atmosphere in the living room was charged with thick tension.
Suddenly, the butler burst in, barely containing his excitement.
âGood news! Mr. Rhys Green is still alive! Heâs returnedâ¦â
Moments later, Rhys stepped through the doorway, his hand clasped tightly around Anikaâs.
âGrandpa, Dad, Momâ¦â he announced, his tone level and utterly devoid of the warmth one would expect from such a long-awaited reunion.
Harlee tilted her head, surprise flickering in her eyes as she observed Anika.
