I love parties but I don't know how to dress up for one.
As soon as Luiz left for work I started scanning my wardrobe. Every party dress seemed so beautiful, that I was confused to choose which one to wear.
A dress in the corner caught my attention.
It was a short silver colour sparkly two-piece dress. I never wore a short dress before. So I wanted to try it for the first time.
I wore it and checked myself in the mirror.
Not bad! I will wear it in the evening.
It was evening and I was waiting for Luiz.
Can't he be home a little early?
"Why are you not ready yet?", he asked as soon as he entered the room.
"I was waiting for you. I didn't know when you will come to pick me up.", I said.
"Fine be quick.", he said and went to bathroom.
I want to take bath too.
I went to the bathroom of the next room and took a quick shower and changed myself to the silver dress.
I went back to the room and Luiz was no where.
Oh no! he is done! I am late.
I quickly combed my hair and applied lipstick and a lot of mascara. I put silver hoop earrings which were gifted by Sarah on my twentieth birthday.
I paired it with silver stilettos.
I am ready!
I went downstairs and saw Luiz sitting on couch and reading a magazine.
"Shall we leave?", I asked.
He raised his head from the magazine and looked at me.
His eyes looked at me sensually and scanned me from head to toe.
He walked towards me and said, "It's a formal party."
Oh no, I always used to see Annie dress this way for her birthday party and for others' birthday party. But I forgot that the party will not be a regular birthday party because Luiz is a big business man.
"Should I change?", I asked.
"No.", he said staring at me for a while longer and then walked past me. I had no option but to follow him.
I opened my own car door and sat inside.
As soon as I sat the dress went up more and it didn't go unnoticed by him.
He moved his gaze from me and started driving.
Why is he behaving unusual?
"The dress is exposing your wound.", he said.
"Wound?", I asked.
He placed my hair behind and touched my shoulder where I was shot by the gun.
Even though he was touching my wound which was almost healed now, it brought butterflies in my stomach.
"Here.", he said looking at me.
I looked at his palm and his eyes and continued to look.
He turned his face away and suddenly he was about to lose his control on the car steering as our car jumped a bit .
"Shit I missed the speed breaker!", he said in a worried tone.
"Why didn't you put your seat belt?", he said irritatingly.
Before I could say anything, he stopped the car in the corner and removed his seat belt and put mine.
Our eyes met again as our faces were close.
"Don't you ever forget to wear your seat belt and...", he said but stopped.
"And?", I asked.
"And don't bend tonight your dress is short.", he said and put my seat belt, went back to his seat, put his seat belt and started driving the car.
So he didn't like the dress! Shit! He wrote in his diary that he didn't mind Maryam wearing short dress but why is he giving me instructions?
I was pissed off.
We arrived at a place which looked like a big guest house. We went inside and everyone screamed "HAPPYY BIRTHDAYY!!!", at once.
Everyone started wishing Luiz one by one.
I saw everyone was dressed formal or at least semi-formal. I was dressed like a teenage girl. I was the only one wearing a short dress.
Portia appeared from nowhere and said, "Hey I was the one who selected this dress for you right?"
Yeah, it was her who picked this dress for me in Jake's boutique.
"Yeah", I said smiling at her.
"See you look fab in this.", she said.
"But it doesn't go with the occasion.", I muttered.
"Luiz didn't tell you that it's a formal party?", she asked.
"He told me after I got dressed.", I said.
She laughed hard and said, "Then it is not your fault."
I looked at Luiz who looked at Portia as if she was a fool.
Well she is right.
"Come let's have drinks.", she said.
"I don't drink.", I said.
Both Luiz and Portia looked at me surprised.
"Are you on diet?", Portia asked.
"No.", I replied.
"You need not though.", she said giggling.
"You never had drinks before?", Luiz asked.
"No." I said.
"Then let's break that. Drink today.", she said.
"Okay!!", I said excited.
The waiter brought the drinks and we took one each.
I had a big gulp and it burnt my throat. I started coughing.
"Have small quantity Lara.", Luiz said.
I had three shots after that.
"Now that's enough.", Luiz said.
"Hmm.", I said.
I felt like my eyes were heavy and the vision was kind of blurry.
"Are you okay?", Luiz asked.
"Hmm.", I said.
"She is fine Luiz.", Portia said.
"You are tipsy, aren't you?", he asked.
"No, I am fine.", I somehow managed to complete that sentence.
"Wait just sit here, I will get you water.", Luiz said.
"I will get another drink for myself.", Portia also went with him.
She had as many drinks as I had but why is she fine and I feel like this?
Somebody grabbed my arm and made me stand up.
"Wow Lara, didn't know that you had this kind of stuff in you. You look sexy!", Alex said.
"Get lost!", I said.
"Not tonight. I am fearless.", he said and dragged me to the dance floor.
"Alex please. I don't know to dance.", I said.
I had some unusual feeling in my stomach and head.
"Doesn't matter.", he held me by my waist and started swinging like a mad man.
"Lara you have no idea how beautiful you look today.", he said coming closer to my face.
"Eeew! even he is drunk.", I thought out loud.
"Yeah, I am, just like you are.", he said grinning.
"I am not drunk.", I said declaring.
I blew on his face so that he can smell my breath and know that I am not drunk.
"Argh! Okay you are not drunk.", he said.
I laughed with joy!
Yayy!! I proved my point.
"May I.", I heard Luiz's voice and saw that he was asking my hand for a dance.
"No.", Alex said with a devilish smile.
He is in deep trouble!! But I am happy that Luiz will do something to him tonight.
I am dancing in my heart. Ooohh la la la..... Alex will be gone... OOOHHH LA LA....
