Nicolas Witmore's POV
I just stood there in shock with my mouth almost open. She knew? She knew about the bet?! How?! How did she know? She folded her hands near chest and raised an eye-brow at me.
"Shocked?", she asked with arrogance in her voice.
I stared at her not knowing what to say.
"I was also shocked just like you, when I came to know about it. About how you used me for the bet", she spit with venom in her voice. She gave me a disgusted look. I can't bear that look in her eyes for me. No. Please don't look at me like that Pauline.
"Baby girl-", I said taking a step towards her while extending my hand to hold her arm. She instantly moved back, not wanting me to touch her, like my touch burns her skin.
"No! Don't! Stop there!", she ordered while holding her hand up.
"Pauline, Listen-", I started again, wanting for her to hear my desperasion.
"No! There is nothing left for me to hear! It's over! It's all over! I don't want to hear anything that comes out from your mouth! I will not believe you!".
"Please-", I started to plead. Her words hurt me deeply. The words "it's over", hurt like hell!
"Stop!", she shouted with tears straming down her cheeks. I can't see her crying. It hurts me too that she is hurting.
"No! Please Pauline, Baby listen to me!", I said strictly as I went to her and took her face in my hands.
She turned her head away angrily. I sighed.
"Baby. I love you. I have you loved then. My love was never a lie and it still not is! I truly loved you and I still do. I always have and always will!", I said loudly, so she can hear the truth in my words. She looked back at me with anger in her eyes.
"That's what I thought. I did too. I too loved you. So much. But not now. sI won't trust you. May be it is all an act", she said in a low voice. Her words are cutting me deep. I made her look at me.
"No! It's never acting! If I really never loved you, then why would I search for you this long and make you be with me even forcefully?", I asked her. I want to shake her hard and make her see the truth.
"May be this time you have another bet", she said with a breaking voice. I clenched my jaw. She thinks so lowly of me?
"No Baby. You are wrong. It's because I love you and I want to be with you, no matter what. That's why", I said with a lot of emotion in my voice while holding her arms. She looked into my eyes.
"Let's face the truth Nick! You want a.... a play toy! So you can bed her and tell about your sex life to your friends and make fun about how she is a virgin and.... and inexperienced! I was always a play toy to you. Nothing more!", she spit the words.
"WHAT?!", I shouted in anger. What the bullshit is she talking about?! I never did anything like that! Not to her and not to any women!
"It's true", she shrugged.
"Stop it! STOP IT! What the fuck are you talking Pauline?! A play toy?! You were never a play toy to me! Shit! Who put that into your mind?! How can you even think that?! I never thought of you like that! God! I don't talk about any women so cheaply in front of anyone! Especially not about you! How could you even think that?!", I asked shaking her.
She just stood there in silence.
"I want an answer Pauline! Do you really think so lowly about me?! Did you ever hear me talking like that with anyone?!", I asked with anger.
"No", she whispered looking away.
"A play toy?! What the fuck is that?! I.... I don't know what to say now", I just whispered the last part.
"Don't act innocent Nick. I know about the bet. I know all about it. Isn't it about you taking my virginity? Which you did at last and succeeded in it", she said angrily.
What?! No! It's never about her virginity! Yes my friends and I do have a bet, but that is not it! I really loved her! I will always. She got the worng idea. I just stood there and stared at her.
"What? Why are you so silent?", she asked sarcastically.
"Baby, the bet is not about your viginity", I said calmly while looking at her. Her face turned to confusion.
"What?", she asked with her fore head creasing.
"Yes. Wait a minute. How do you know all this?", I asked her while taking a step towards her. She looked down and sighed before looking up at me.
"At first.... Jane told me. But I didn't believe her, cause I thought you loved me so much-".
"I did".
"But then I heard you talking with your friends about the bet", she said looking away and bit her lip. I moved closer to her and took her face in my hands.
"Did you hear fully? Did I say that the bet is about me taking your virginity in the actual words?", I asked calmly cause I know I didn't. I was never about it.
"No", she whispered.
"Then?", I asked while looking into her eyes. She looked angry again.
"Even though if it's not about my virginity, you still had a bet that involves me!", she said angrily while pushing me away.
"Baby girl,-", I am cut off with my phone ringing. I took the phone out of my pocket and cut off the call without seeing who it is. I looked at her and was about to talk again, but the phone rang again. I cut it off again. But it rang again.
"Lift it", she said and I sighed before cursing and lifting the call, without looking who it is in the ID. This better be something important!
"Hello", I snapped into the phone.
"Nick!", I heard a happy and excited voice of my sweet sister. Our princess. Amelia. We all love her so much.
"Princess!", I said into the phone and saw Pauline looking at me eagerly with a small smile on her face. She and my sisters are good friends. I am so happy about it.
"Yes! It's me! How are you brother?!", she shriked into the phone.
"I am fine princess. How are you? Is Zack treating you well?", I asked her while turning around from Pauline and went to sit on the couch.
"Yes, he is! You know us! Anyways. I have a news for you all! It's really important. I want to share it with you all! Please come to our father's mansion today", she asked with a pleading voice. I can imagine her giving me her puppy face. I smiled at into the phone. How can anyone resist that face?
"Okay. Now you can stop pouting", I said and heard her laughing on the other side.
"Be there in a hour", she ordered.
"Okay mam. Bye". She giggled.
"Bye", she said and cut off the call.
Pauline is standing in front of me with a questioning look.
"Is everything okay?", she asked with concern.
"Yes. No need to worry. But she wants to me to come to mansion in an hour", I replied looking at her.
She nodded her head in understanding.
"You are also coming with me", I told ehr and her eyes widened. I stood up.
"No! Why me?", she asked.
"I want my family to meet my girlfriend", I said while pulling her to me with a hand around her waist.
"But you never want me to meet your family when we were in high school".
"But now I do. So you are coming".
"Nick, it's not right for me to come. It's you family meeting-", I cut her off.
"No. You are coming", I told her and pulled her gently with me while walking out to the living room to take my car keys.
"But Nick-", I cut her off again.
"No more buts Baby girl. I had enough today. I don't want another fight with you", I said as I stopped in the middle of the living room.
I took her hands in mine and kissed her kunckles. I pulled her to me and wrapped my hadns around her waist from under her hands as she wrapped them around my waist from the top of my hands.
"Remember this Baby girl. You are important to me. You are not some bet to me. At the end I haved loved you and I will always. You are mine. I am yours", I said and took her head in my hands and kissed her fore head. I pulled away and looked at her face. We stared into each other eyes for a few minutes and I took her hand to walk out.
"I want to know what the bet is about Nick", I heard her calm voice once we are in the car which I am driving, in the traffic of the city. I thought to myself.
