Shu Pan sat in the conference room with a nervous heart. She looked at the others; everyone was dressed so fashionably, as if they were attending a beauty contest.
Only she was dressed properly.
A beautiful woman next to her turned towards her and asked, âAre you also here for the executive assistant interview?â
âYes, are you?â Shu Pan responded.
She noticed among them were many young and beautiful women, only two were about her age.
âYes, but I heard they say itâs for an executive assistant, actually, itâs to hire a secretary for the CEO.â The beautiful woman seemed very well-informed.
Shu Pan glanced at her and naively asked, âHow do you know?â

Shu Pan felt reckless; she wasnât nervous anymore. After all, she didnât expect much. If they were looking for a secretary, she definitely wasnât suitable.
The younger one asked first, âAre you married? Do you have kids?â
Shu Pan was stunned. They were asking such personal questions directly in an interview now? But she had nothing to hide either, so she answered openly, âMarried, and my child is 5 years old.â
The woman next to him gave her an extra look, âHave you worked as an assistant or in secretarial roles before?â
Shu Pan thought for a moment, âSort of.â After all, she knew the procedures of those jobs.
